Benavidez needs to pull up on May 4 and step inside ring after the fight. PBC make it happen. WBC do right and strip Canelo for not fighting mandatory!!!
It hasn’t been mandated by wbc yet, and instead of Benavidez pressuring wbc for it he asked to be a contender for the interim at 175.
Like Tim Bradley said benavidez can and should sue wbc for that except he won’t win in court because he himself asked to be contender for the interim at 175 before the march deadline wbc set for canelo and benavidez which means he wasn’t serious or didn’t want it enough so he would lose in court.

@@misael008 First of all, the claim that Benavidez is a 3 year mandatory is a flat out lie from team Benavidez trying to convince casuals that cherrypicking rando Ellis coming off ducking smoke at 168 made him mandatory lol. So there is no basis for a lawsuit however the WBC was set to rule on his status this March but David instead requested WBC give him an eliminator fight at 175 which made no sense especially when Benavidez SR said they have no intention of fighting the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev. David is just posturing to justify fighting leftovers.
Benavidez has been defending the Interim belt for years now. The Plant fight was suppose to be final eliminator and WBC would mandate the winner to fight Canelo. If it didn’t happen then why would Benavidez sit around waiting. Canelo says he brings nothing to the table so what did Ryder, Charlo and now Munguia bring besides a guaranteed W Point is Benavidez gives Canelo flashbacks of fight against Bivol thats why he makes every excuse and now even prices himself out to avoid loosing all over again. This type of fight between two of the best at a weight class get made like nothing in the UFC.
But this is what you get from fighters who make big money. You don't get more big fights, you get higher demands for even more pay. Tyson fury did this and faked a retirement unless he gets 100 mill and canelo is doing it.
Canelo just called him out for lying about an offer while saying he was in no position to make offers when he's the draw not the other way around. Meanwhile Canelo's resume is straight generationally stacked by any measure including taking the risks no A side fighter would do willingly. It's Benavidez who proves the theory about disincentivizing fighters considering he's pretty much spent his career padding his 0 holding out for 1 fight retirement pay even talking about $5M like it's low money when it's a career high payday. If Benavidez were in the UFC, he would have been dropped by now from dropping his same belt multiple times, ducking multiple 168 unifications, never fighting multiple backed up mandatories, and ducked a 175 title shot even after being stripped. Fact is, Canelo took all the fights he ducked out on and next fighting a hungry young challenger who isn't trying to play B side diva.
ufc does this shit too, it took 4 years for them to rebook chito vs omalley when it probably should've happened instantly. They have different incentivizers like building up hype, but it delays big fights all the same

I'm a Canelo fan, but you can't put the fight with GGG the same as with Benavidez. GGG was aging and slowing down visibly, prior to Canelo fighting him. Benavidez is still young and improving. He's a more dangerous fight and Canelo understands that.
