Hey Madeline, I really wanted to leave a comment for you. 6 months ago I was frantically watching all your videos as I blindly accepted a QA Analyst role & was so nervous if I cud do the job. 6 months later, here I am as a QA and proud of all the challenges have overcome & achieved on what may seem like an easy job but it takes a toll upon you depending on your project type. I'm so glad I took the job & your vids helped me calm my nerves when I newly started. I'm so grateful & also its funny remembering those moments now! :D Blessings to you!
@@MadelineElaineYT Thank you so much Madeline. We're literally living poles apart yet share similar lives which amuses me alot. Thx to technology haha. Blessings
I’ve watched some of your videos on software testing and it inspired me to select it as a career change. Currently finishing up QA TestPro courses and have internship in couple of weeks! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙏
@@katieguyvan6155 that’s cool! I’m in class B37, are you in the same class?I finished internship. I have my mock interview at the end of the month. When I pass that then I get my certificate. I recently updated my LinkedIn profile and I started getting job links & messages from recruiters so we will see what happens from here! 😊
Hi! I came across your channel because I'm researching the QA Testing/Manual QA/ QA Automation role, as well as training, switching from Education as an Elementary school teacher. As a life long learner, this is right up my alley. You're making it look good I must say! Thanks for sharing this content.
May I ask, what training are you doing to learn this trade? I’m interested in switching to QA as well but I don’t know what level of training is good enough to land a job.
Great video! I've been working for a few years as a software engineer myself. I think it's a great field to be in, lots of room for growth and movement. My wife has been looking for a new career to get into and I've told her about QA, but there's not many videos like yours out there. This is great content that fills that gap. It would be really nice to have some videos that explain the details around how your job is done. Might not be what you really want your channel to be, but it would be something many people could find useful!
It's funny that you say that, because I've been so surprised by the interest in my job 😂 I definitely assumed people would think it's boring, but you're right, there's just not much content about it out there! I'm planning on making more QA-focused content, since people do have so many questions about it. I'd love to incorporate a more well-rounded perspective though, so if you have any thoughts about what people should know about working in the software industry, let me know!😊
I am so stoked for your channel and the content you are bringing! I’m a software QA engineer, work from home, vegan and fitness enthusiast as well so girl, you’re channel is literally speaking to my life! I really appreciate you sharing your journey along the way to completing your goals. It helps keep me motivated and inspired! Sending you all the best vibes on all your future content! Can’t wait to see it!
Thank you for your videos. After being laid off from another library job due to ANOTHER round of budget cuts, I'm strongly thinking of doing QA---I've been researching it for awhile.
Thanks so much!! I actually have a few videos on my channel about that where I go into more detail! Definitely check those out, I give more info there than I could in a comment 😊💛
I want to get into qa software testing, switching careers from being a preschool lead teacher. Have no family in tech, so this journey is something else right now. I have 4 months to get rolling and find a job, so please, advice on how to get certified(courses, C.A.S.T., etc) would be much appreciated. thanks!
Good luck in your transition!! I actually am not much help with this, my position is entry level and didn't require any kind of certification or experience in the field. Maybe someone else will see this comment and have better advice for you!
Great video! I am about to start as a QA- will be working from home.I have a question- how do thay track you in terms of hours worked or whether you are actually working or not. I would appreciate if you please answer that.
Thank you! For my company, we track our work time for each individual issue/task so that it's clear where time is being spent. Other than that, they wouldn't really know if someone was actually working or not, unless your team noticed your work wasn't getting done on time or something like that. So I guess it's mostly honor system/people will notice if you're wasting too much time haha
I write test cases for each “story” or piece of code the developers create. My team usually completes 14-20 stories every two weeks, so for each story I write out the different test cases to go through to make sure the code works correctly and cannot be broken. 😊 And thank you!
Thanks for sharing wonderful blog.. New subscriber here.. I am also looking for QA job in USA after gap.. Can you please guide us in detail what are the courses / coding languages/ tools needed in your qa job. And from which job portal you have gotten this opportunity.. It would be great help for job seekers
Hi! I don't know that I'm qualified to do that...its such a specific job that showing everyone how I do my testing might not even be helpful because it's specific to the application your testing, the process your company prefers, the development methodology and so on!
Hi Madeline! I just found your CZcams Channel and watched some of your videos, the content is great! I'm a master's student currently doing research on automated software testing. May I know if there is any good automated test case generation tool from your perspective as a QA?🥺Thanks in advance!
@@MadelineElaineYT thank u so much, i will be a graduate in 3 moths as an IT student and I want to pursue this career. I love your vlogs especially about your work, it helps me a lot on what I will really expect and do. God Bless Ms. Madeline
Hmm I’d say kind of. It’s very straight-forward technical writing for writing test cases, and there is a lot of written communication as far as emails and responding to tickets and things like that!
@@MadelineElaineYT but is it like technical writing like college type or is it alot more simple? Because i was really bad at college technical writing in college, so I don’t want this to be my breaker in this career
@@camilorueda100 I think it's more simple! I've never done technical writing though, so I'm just guessing. And the more complex the software the more complex the writing could be...but in my experience it is simpler than technical writing!
I've never seen someone with a worse setup for your arms infront of a computer. You will have all sorts of problem in your elbow and shoulder. How can you not notice it yourself? Why not a wider table? Why not a USB keyboard...? So many solutions. And you are a person to find problems in things?

Basically it just means that a specific code change has been “installed” to the testing environment and can be tested. 😊
