I'm proud to have Armstrong blood. My great-grandmother was an Armstrong. Her father, John W. Armstrong, was a Captain in the USA Civil War... ♡

Proud to be an Armstrong. I have yet to meet a fellow Armstrong who wasn't full of piss and vinegar or doesn't live "Invictus Maneo" daily.

Very proud to say I also come from the Armstrong Clan!!!
Adam Armstrong who was a widow with 6 kids came to Perth WA in 1829
He named Dalkeith ( Perths richest suburb )
    And he also named Ravenswood
What he would have endured coming to Perth as a widow with 6 kids in 1829 would have been a huge but he with his warrior spirit let nothing phase him!!!
True absolute legend in my eyes
    Invictus Maneo 💪🏽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💎❤😊

Seems like there was no debate about the Armstrongs owning the debatable lands. 😂 i am direct line of Johnny of Gilnockie.

Awesome video! I have been researching my genealogy and traced my roots to many of the individuals mentioned in this video including John “john of gilnockie” Armstrong and William “Christie’s Will” Armstrong.

Also, Purdue University is one of the greatest engineering universities in the entire world (lol has Oxford put a man on the moon? Purdue has put 2). So with Armstrong blood and Indiana education, there is no doubt as to why he was the first man to land on the moon. Chuck Norris is scared of Neil, and Neil single-handedly defeated communism and the metric system. He could have defeated the English but didn't because he didn't want to waste his time on an unworthy adversary. But all joking aside, I met him - he was incredibly humble and very nice. Total stud.

Yes they were a clan. Sure they didn't wear kilts till after 1840 when their official tartan was created. They had loyalty only to their family ,their leader over any government or crown. Family armies that fought other family armies. Sounds like a clan to me. Even the Scottish government considered them and several other Border Reiver Clans and Highland Clans in a statute by the Scottish Parliament in 1587 . The government called the Armstrong's and 16 other families Clans and wanted to capture and them and execute them for their raids and criminal behavior. The Armstrong's could raise 3000 horsemen to raid cattle or attack enemy Clans like the Grahams on the border. They even made a challenge that they would fight the Highland Grahams too. The Armstrong's and Grahams were vicious enemies until a marriage between an Armstrong' and a Graham brought peace to their feud. Sure they didn't wear kilts or speak Gaelic but they were loyal to their Ken over any crown. They were a clan wether they used the term clan then or not.
And in modern times their tartan and clan are officially recognized by The Lord Lyon of Scotland along with every other lowland and Border family that submitted their tartan and crests to be officially recognized .
