I love her mount! Was she injured or sick in Sydney? Because she certainly was not herself there. Obviously she was affected by the vault. Was she underfed like the rest of the team too?
Elise injured her shoulder in the second rotation (FX) of team prelims in Sydney... She was solid enough on BB in the first rotation to qualify for EF, but then the injury understandably caused her to be more cautious and tentative for the rest of QF and TF. And then of course the vault debacle in AA finals derailed her again. 😢
***** Well, by that point, Khorkina had already taken a fall on bars, too, so there wasn't much point in vaulting again. We'll never know if she would have fallen on bars if she'd had a successful vault rotation. It could be that the vaults rattled her enough to throw her off on her best event. But, who knows?
It would certainly be unsurprising. You have to imagine the frustration and heartache that it caused- and so unnecessarily. That’s a mistake that should never happen at the Olympics.
Wow, one of my favorite routines 😊
Exquisite
I love that double turn with the twinkle toes move... what is that called? So pretty!

Injured… like most of that team unfortunately. They were grossly overworked.

One of the most overrated US gymnasts of all time, smh...
I give that award to Khorkina.
One of the most unimportant comments of all time- from someone who clearly offers nothing of value.
