Ark Survival Ascended: Alpha Broodmother versus Megatherium

- I've never fought against Alpha Broodmother without heavy losses. Will it be different now I've bred an army of Megatherium?
Alpha Broodmother versus my 19 Megatherium and one Yuty.
Health: 20,000
Melee: 700%
Saddle Armour: 164
This is my first line of megatherium, with good base health but poor base melee. I've since found one with better melee, so if I lose any here I'll start breeding a new batch.
I’m considering preparing a Megatherium army too. My Theriz army can do the Alpha Broodmother, but when I did it I had 5-10 losses, so I’m not able to farm it for Element.
I’d like to have an army that I can use to farm Element without losses, ideally Alpha Broodmother because the trophies needed are easy to obtain.
I really rate these megatherium. Mine are from mediocre stock and you saw how high their damage was! I've since tamed one with better base melee, and as mine die off, I plan to replace them with tougher ones. Maybe breeding that hideous green mutation I've got into the new line 😀
Also tempted to use them on The Center bosses...
Did u have them on aggressive or neutral?
That's a good point - I probably had them on neutral to start with!
Did alpha today with theris 20k hp 830% melee 150-190 armor saddles no deaths either but i tried dragon too and everything ded
Good work on Broodmother. I haven't tried that with theris, but suspected they'd be up for the job.
Saw your comment on the other video... no idea why. Yuty buff up and fully caked?
My brother raised three theri armies all the same stats. One was wiped by beta dragon even with decent saddles. Seems a big variance in outcome.
@@ZedsArk you mean the dragon? Yeah I had yuty buff and 20 cakes each
But I just did it today with 8 theriz remaining
What I changed is that my theriz had no levels in hp only in melee so they had 16k hp and 903 melee
Hello everyone died dang I must have gotten lucky then what server you on I can assist I went in solo with 12 theriz 1 crap yuty that died like 5 minutes in
Well done - its a tough fight currently the toughest boss in Ark SA.
I run my own server. Happy for other people to join, but turning it off shortly as about to go on a long holiday.
Veggi cake them 5 each
As omnivores, Megatherium won't eat veggie cakes. Veggie cakes are only eaten by herbivores.
Which is strange as my dog eats cake even though she's a carnivore.
@@ZedsArkIs Rhyniognatha an exception? Mine eats them at low Health. I know it because I thought I could temporarily store them inside it since it isn’t a herbivore, instead it started eating them once every 30 seconds.
So, my understanding is that carnivores can eat them, but won't be healed by them. Could be wrong though. Did it appear to heal the rhynio?
But I could be wrong on that...
I think I lost some cakes in a similar way.
@@ZedsArkThis might be the case. I had the impression they were healing very slowly.
Also, I just found a 5 years old post of someone complaining their drake ate them. This post received an answer from WC_ChrisW (lead programmer at Wild Card) who said it isn’t intended and they are investigating.
However, someone else posted some text from an older patch note that seems to imply it was intended, and apparently they had a different cooldown in the past. I’ll copy the text below:
v252.8 Requires Server Update.
- Veg cakes will be auto-consumed by any Dino for Health if their HP is below 85% (yes, even Carnivores, though to minimal benefit on them :stuck_out_tongue: ). The Dino will consume one Veg cake every 10 seconds until it has above 85% Health again.
