  • In this episode of Photographing Iceland we'll visit the most visited waterfall in all of Iceland, Gullfoss. It's a huge waterfall which is a part of the golden circle - a marketing term for a tourist roundtrip in Iceland. I've included a lot of Drone footage which I hope you'll like too.

    Dear Mads, I'm writing to express my thankfulness for your wonderful work. I spent a month travelling (August 2014) around Iceland with a 4x4 and a tent and I'm working in a travel book and memoir. My travel companion is a photographer and artist, and I already have all these wonderful pictures of the country made by him, but your videos make me return so much to the magical island... Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your images and clear photographic explanations are a real treat to me as a writer and wannabe photographer.

      You are very welcome, Veronica! Sounds like you had a real existential experience? :)
      I'm very happy my videos and photos have that impact!

      Hehe as a schoolteacher of education I'm not sure that's a good thing ;) But I know what you mean - I wish I would have had access to this kinda information before I went myself! :)

    Stunning. Iceland is 100% at the top of my dream location to shot

    I wish Iceland wasnt so far away for me! Its by far the best place for waterfalls and landscapes with them. Enjoy your time there. keep up the great footage!

    Wow! I do love the drone video, but when it comes to the point to show the photographys I always get goosebumps. The combination of music and visual design is perfect! 😄

    Another excellent episode, makes me want to visit Iceland, I particularly like the second picture of the waterfall. I know you like using long exposures of water but can you do/show some taken at ‘normal’ shutter speeds as I like to see the water movement frozen.

    I looked at your series on Iceland and I think it was the best information on Iceland I found in my research of the trip. We just returned fro a week long trip and the images I took were really great despite heavy rain which prevented visiting some of the sites in your videos. Your series is phenomenal and is a must for not only photographers but also for anyone traveling there!
    Cheers,
    Erik

      I'm going in September and i will rent a car, but they are pushing me a lot of insurance! Like sand, ash, gravel and others. What insurance is really needed?

    • @MadsPeterIversen
      @MadsPeterIversen  Před 7 lety

      Depends on how you treat the car and how lucky/unlucky you are - and where you go. Personally I've never needed the insurance, but I always go for the basic insurances. You never know when something goes wrong. Sand/ash is not necessary but you can consider gravel, if you're going on a longer road with gravel. I'd say stone chips is your biggest worry.

      Oh it's very hard to chose because all the videos are special, with a lots of info about locations and photos that you've taken out there... but if I would have to chose which one is my favorite so far, it would be a Photographing Iceland - Episode 3 - Kirkjufell & Grundarfjordur :)

      I have a series for the Faroe Islands coming up, but for travels I don't have anything planned at the moment. I have so much footage from my US trip and Faroes that I need to get through. As a creative I have a lot of ideas, but so far they're only in that stage ;)

    Absolutely stunning content Mads ! Do you use your drone to take stills as well ? This waterfall looked like a good candidate to try drone stills since its already difficult to shoot it in its entirety.
