  • The Cadillac DeVille is the nameplate used by Cadillac over eight generations, originally used to designate a trim level of the 1949 Cadillac Series 62 and later to designate a standalone model in the brand range. The last model marketed specifically as a DeVille was the 2005 full-size sedan, at the time, Cadillac's largest model.
The 1959 Cadillac is remembered for its huge sharp tailfins with dual bullet tail lights, two distinctive rooflines and roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck lid beauty panels.
The 1960 Cadillacs had smoother, more restrained styling. General changes included a full-width grille, the elimination of pointed front bumper guards, increased restraint in the application of chrome trim, lower tailfins with oval shaped nacelles and front fender mounted directional indicator lamps. De Villes were distinguished by special script nameplates on the rear fenders. Four-window and six-window hardtop sedans were offered again. The former featured a one-piece wraparound backlight and flat-top roof, while the latter had a sloping rear window and roofline. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, dual back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows and a two-way power seats. Technical highlights were finned rear drums and an X-frame construction. Interiors were done in Chadwick cloth or optional Cambray cloth and leather combinations.

Exactly. Exterior colors are either black, white, red or gray.
And interior colors are even more limited. What a shame!!

I would like to see the body tag, if this is "original upholstery" it would of had to of been special ordered this type of cloth was used in Series 62 cars not the Deville series. Persian sand Chadwick looks nothing like this, also the buttons appear a little large as well. Where is the rear seat embossed V that should be in the center of the rear back rest, also most likely a repaint since there is no body color paint in cowl area around the wipers and in between the ribs. Still a beautiful car for sure but no AC Compressor or hoses in the engine compartment and the incorrect fuel filter and fuel lines , sheds some doubt on the original mileage claim

I agree. Spectacular Cadillac however the a/c dash ducts are
questionable. The heater control seems to be that of a non a/c car. I'm old enough to remember these cars when they were new. Uhupolstry seems correct after checking other videos but may be an factory upgrade. The build sheet and tag should clarify.
      Excellent video as usual.

the car has no AC compressor in the video, but it has the original mounts for it. i would guess it's out for an overhaul. thanks for watching!

I have always thought the 1960 Cadillac models are so much prettier than the 1959 models in every way possible. I think the top management came to the realization that the 1959 design was a huge mistake and they made sure it was completely toned down in every way possible for the 1960 refresh. I hope the owner of the Mustang parked behind the Cadillac didn't end up with the battery running down since the headlights appear to be on and there wasn't anyone inside of the car. Lol!

The '59 and '60 Cadillac coupes should have had their own exclusive tops and rear windows rather than sharing them with the much lower priced Chevrolet coupes . It's always struck me as odd.

Id' prefer a 1959, but who could pass up a 1960 Caddie in such fab condition! With factory air, no less. (Many Caddies from those years did not.)

I have my parents 58 series 62 sedan they bought from a Doctor friend who thiers in 1960. It was optioned up with power windows, wonderbar radio, tinted glass and FACTORY AC. It stopped working around 1970, but it's all still in place.. Not many series 62 models have that as it was super expensive.... even sedan de ville and the super expensive Eldorado Biarritz did not come standard with AC! My mom signed it over to me in 1982, lifelong Southern California car, its in great shape and on the road.

What is the history of this car? Where bought, who owned etc. Why was it basically driven a bit over 100 miles a year? On second owner or? Obviously the car needs alot of documentation to prove it is genuine as stated and of course ac must be converted to R32 since freon was outlawed, I believe. It isn't possible for 60 year old ac to be working if not reworked completely over the years.
