Dallas Willard was one of the most insightful men I have read. I just learned he has passed away. His book the Divine Conspiracy is one of the best I have enjoyed. This video is a great summary of his book. He will be missed...

Is it an academic or popular kind of book? Who publishes it? Thank you.

Actually, it's good to hear someone able to think, who recovers two millenia later, the original meaning of the gospel.
If a viewer who actually inquires in life is interested in an introduction to that recovery, the u-tube available "Spiritual Formation as a Natural Part of Salvation" will be of interest. Of course, if you don't believe and act as if the mind is integrally related to Spirit as well as the body we also possess, then you will be wasting your time.
There are insightful questions posed by students and some faculty at Wheaton College in that discussion. So for those interested in getting a better sense of this speaker, I'd recommend watching the question and answer period in the last twenty minutes or so of that tape -- and THEN listening to its thoughtful content-rich presentation, in discrete bits, as suitable to you.

Is philosophy outside of God's creation? Is it outside of the understanding of all that God is? I think you misunderstand what philosophy is. Have you read the Bible? Great portions of it deal with the exact questions philosophers have been asking for thousands of years. What is reality? God and His kingdom is reality. Nothing else is.

This is philosophy blended with Christianity. Willard simply misses the mark in his definition of "The gospel".

You have a hateful spirit that is closed to the reality of God living within.

Ears2 Hear Hey could you emphasize more on how this teacher missed the mark. I’m trying to find information about this guy, a friend of mine has one of his books and I’ve never heard of him but there are a lot of heretics out there so I am researching him. If you have any information that might help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Jay Man he makes it we aren’t good enough unless we do all his booms and teachings. We need to pray read the bible and that is it. The disciples didn’t have all that philosophy to go by. Just preach Jesus

Jay Man I believe he’s most concerned with discipleship and disciplines that have to do with sanctification

I expect an atheist will have a very distinct response to Willard's very shallow psychology. These guys are so lost in their ivory tower - their egos are making up "reality" - but it is just their imagination.

Ego is that farthest word that comes to mind here for me. This guy is incredibly humble in my mind....God is exalted in his writings not self
