Ahhh, shoegazing and horizontally striped t-shirts. Just like the Reid brothers. What a good time that was!
archetypal indie drumming: syncopated snare all over the place! Love Ride - saw them in the early nineties & the drums & bass sounded just as fantastic as they do here.
this was the perfect swansong to all my idiot friends I STILL LOVE, but needed to get away from in college. girlfriends, classes, memories.....a good break-up song.
I absolutely love this song. I have the “leave them all behind” original shirt from their 1992 Oxford date. I think that was the first show of that tour and there is video of it on CZcams. Such an amazing band with sooooo many wonderful songs. Thanks RIDE for the amazing music over the years
Love the sound of these old Shoegaze bands
I never thought of it at the time. Because we went crazy . we didnt stand still looking at our feet.
Prefer the full version, still undoubtedly a tune!
They downplayed the bass a lot here. That was a huge disappointment.
Recorded in 1991, released in Feb 1992: The audio and imagery that served as blue-print for the rest of the 90s

I really don't think it did. This looks very early 90's. This style of video was obsolete by the mid 90's when Oasis came along.
RichleicaMP He didn’t say oasis was good, only that they came along and became the focal point and influenced a lot of bands, which they did (for good or bad). Ride was an amazing band but they didn’t write any blueprints in terms of music nor videos. I think they were far more known by the U.K. Mainstream than in the rest of the world. Here in the U.S. other than a handful of friends that share my love of the band hardly anyone I knew or met in the 90s and since has even heard of them. They are a sort of lost treasure that many people have never heard and aren’t aware of, which is sad for them because they are missing out on some great music. I find that in the states this is a common status for many great bands of the 80s and 90s that simply never crossed over into mainstream popularity or recognition.
By 1994, even Ride themselves had given up making this kind of music.
This was the sun setting on shoegaze. Frustratingly for me just when I was old enough to get into it ...
My favorite album. I heard Ride from a small record store in the U.S. Great band.
What a great live version. Instruments and vocals were perfect.
Still leaving them all behind all these years later. Takes me back to the indie clubs in the 90's, when you could still dance to a good song.
i love Ride...now and from ever since. beautiful ingenious walls of sound. first band to make me sway and stare at my shoes...but mostly at stars.
Probably one fo the greatest couple of records released back to back. Nowhere and Going Blank Again. I remmed per buying this on cassette and jamming this one the head phones, thinking wow!
I always viewed this band and this scene from the perspective of someone who was in an indie band that went to a nightclub type world and then coming back to this through the whole baggy indie crossover type thing. All in all this druggy myasma that was present at the time stretched both ways and gave a creative spurt to most involved and gave the whole shoe gaze it's lavishly druggy glaze and in some cases it's breakbeat esque rhythms and filters. vapour trail still sounds mentally large to me.
One of the best tunes , ever . End of .
When they get it right, they really get it right.
A “shoegaze” band that always still had a great song under all the gain and noise. Not many bands of this era can go acoustic and still hold your attention or retain their magic, but ride could and still can because the song writing and musicianship was leagues ahead of most of their peers and transcended the limits of the genre they got pigeonholed into.
Jesus, ride need more recognition!
They have it! They are one of those must-hear shoegaze bands. Up there with my bloody valentine, Lush and many others
the build up from the synth intro can't be left out
Absolute belter of a choon!! ⚡🖤🔥
LOVED this band back in 92! 💗💜🎸🎶 Reminiscence indie discos in local club, Peterborough!...Good flippin Times!! 😎🙌🏾🤘🏾
Magical!!✨✨❤️ Mesmerized by this song!!
Brilliant. Outstanding in every way. The vibe is just incredible
God!!! RIDE have the best music videos ever!!!!
Ride are awesome. Always were, always will be.
still remembered when they come to my City. It was really beautiful concert. I missed them so much. hikss

Leave Them All Behind
Wheels turning around
Into alien grounds
Pass through different times
Leave them all Behind
Just to see
We've got so far to go
Until we get there
Just let it flow
Colours shining clear
Fading into night
Our grasp is broken
There's nothing we can do
I Don't care about the colours
I don't care about the light
I don't care about the truth
First time I heard this was from the tape deck.of an anniversary 89 trans-am 3.8 turbo, one of 1556 made. Fast as a scalded dog and blasting this.
Ride are such an awesome band!
Love this song a lot!!! :)
Thank you Ride.
Beautiful song
This MV matches the vibrant abstract sound with colorful effects
The drummer is a-ma-zing!! And of course Ride is :) But me as a former drummer - I am amazed.
Aaaaaa still get goosebumps.... shogazing aaaaa
a fucking banger if there ever was one
someone with editing software definitely needs to "fan-video" this to the full version
Lusciously wrapped around Loz's insane drum core
On tour this year!
Excelent song.
Surely the best version
Ride stands out from the rest of the “shoegaze” bands for many reasons. For me, it’s more than their amazing musicianship(Loz the drummer my god)…it’s their underlying sense of melody. I connect with them in a way MBV and others could not. From the first track I heard by Ride(Like a Daydream) to the album no one seemed to like(Tarantula) to their new songs( like Clouds of Saint Marie) I am forever a fan and devotee to their sound.
I fell in love with them this past year. Definitely been a big inspiration on my guitar parts I craft for my own band.
What a tune......
...see you in BANDUNG INDONESIA 24 NOV 2018
Loz fuckin' Colbert. You can't get any better than that.
It’s a Moody Song… Ya just can’t jump in and Wreck It…. Beauty takes time too blossom…
The intro is so good... I prefer full version
Saw them with the Charlatans in Brighton 93 double headliner. The acid we took made an incredible gig completely off the scale
Seeing you in DC soon
prefer the 8 minute version - brilliant!!

This is an anthem.... There are few moments in my life that musically blew me away. First Time hearing Revolver, by the Beatles Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd , First Roxy Music album., The Joshua tree from U2 from those first notes on vinyl.. before we all got CD crazy.. My first album on vinyl and cd I think... then the next great moment was the Stone Roses first album then Nowhere by Ride...... is is THAT great an album to me...... It has lasted in all its glory.... through Ipods and SONY Hifi era and ADORED the same.... I LOVE this band.... Very special band like The Velvets and Never lost my love for them.. as bigger bands and fashions come and go.. RIDE are truly in my heart mind and psyche from being a gangly teenager reading poetry and philosophy books and girlfriends came and went and RIDE..... One of the eternals in my view.... I never play The Happy Mondays or Duran Duran or Pet Shop Boys or a hundred other bands..I rarely play Oasis .. but RIDE... ah.. RIDE.... what awesome album..... Can be heard from my blue BMW convertible roof down in Gloucestershire in Platinum Jubilee time and like all good music.... it cannot be loud enough!! LOVE this band... LOVE this album.......... Few bands blow me away on first hearing.. Ride did ! : ))
Fucking Perfection !
Que sonido
Wow
услада для ушей и глаз
❤
Leave that one behind.
There might be a better song than this, but I've yet to hear it
My Bloody Valentine is the center of the shoe gaze sound really, all the bands drew from them, it’s really awesome, shoegaze is a culture not just a music form
@@donsmith5385 I just started exploring shoegaze from scratch. Slowdive, MBV and Ride. MBV has some strong songs in Loveless (the one I got)....but more as unique specimen music. I started listening to this Ride album yesterday and it's much stronger....much more intricate musicianship......it's hard to argue it's a better album than Loveless. But for key moments, maybe 2 or 3 tracks from loveless will have that quirky immediate impact.
✌️🙌❤️
My first favourite RIDE song. Yeah cut, but cool anyway.
1.) I like the edit of this track maybe better, the intro is better 2.) really dig Andy’s allegiance to plain white T shirts during this era
Pure shoegaze and noise
Don’t know what to say 🎉
Maybe Beneath?
they butchered that intro, the best part
Ride were so awesome !! it's that massive sound , but it's still musical. now we have a autotune nut job singing over 2 lacklustre sounds\
Kalidascope
This blows
I cannot listen to this version...
A poor man my bloody valentine
Opinions truly are like arseholes as they say. And you need to clean yours a little better.
My favourite song of all time (the full version). I must have listened to this 1000s of times. Takes me back to my youth. Makes me so emotional. 🙏🙏🙏
Mine too!!! Looking forward to see them in Montreal!!!
