    *I will tell you this! Hemp-Crete blocks with over 65% fiber are as bullet proof as the best body armor. I shot a Hemp-crete block made with 65% fine chopped hemp fiber, 25% Portland cement and 10% sand measuring - 12" X 14" X 24" and the punishment it took was AMAZING! I shot the block with both 30-06 and 50 caliber ammo and I could never get a bullet to go through it or even split it after 80 shots to the center mass. It just seemed to get tougher since at same point the new bullets were being stopped by a wall of brass and lead building up in the blocks center mass! AMAZING EFFECT!*

    Hello! Finally, I find a channel that isnt stagnant for 12+ years. I have been trying to find anything about papercrete, but all I see is that it only seems to be just for building walls and crafts.
    I asked another papercrete person about making stepping stones, because I want to add bricks to my sidewalk to extend it economically. I don't know if it will be solid enough or if the bricks will eventually disintegrate from constant contact with the ground. I live in illinois and I am not sure if the cold is too harsh. 🤔
    Thank you for being in the now and shedding light on my situation.

      Hey Kathleen, the most economical way would be sourcing pavers/stones that are being discarded or given away. Often you can find bricks and similar for free if you start looking. Otherwise, if you are passionate about making this a DIY project on the cheap check out what these folks did: czcams.com/video/lpQf7JujMWo/video.html They also live in a harsh winter location, be sure to watch their follow up videos to learn from their mistakes...Could end up being more work but all the more satisfying right?

      I swear to God it's a conspiracy of some sort. The lack of content when it comes to something so simple as even paper mache is ridiculous. I can't even find a video demonstrating a strength test. I just want to make a simple paper mache board for my kids costume and I've gone down this whole entire rabbit hole. Now I've been up all night and I'm scratching my head as to why the only thing I see is misshapen masks when in reality the potential for this is incredible. Even just for me. I was trying to figure out how to make EVA foam harder using these plastic chemicals to coat the already toxic foam, and I realize I could just make a solution of paper glue and water with a much better end product for literally no cost to me. I already have all the stuff. Sorry, I'm ranting.

    Pumicecrete is by far the best building material on the planet Pumicecrete is a mixture of pumice cement and water mixed and poured into a set of reusable forms walls are poured from 12"to 24" thick pumicecrete is fireproof termite proof rust rot and mold proof and has a high R value and good sound attenuation solid poured walls means no critters can live in your walls Pumicecrete can be built for a fraction of the cost and time

      Where does the pumice come from? The only place I know that has pumice is the drugstore that sells it for removing callouses from your heels, I’m in Ontario Canada so I don’t think we have any local sources for volcanic rocks, but I’m curious how it could be sourced and where the rocks originated from and how they were collected in other areas of the continent?

    Compressive strength of papercrete is lower than concrete(not by a lot though.). It is more resistant to shear forces. Still an amazing material, and better than traditional concrete in a lot of ways. Wonderful video though, thank you for this.

    Anyone used lime instead of cement ? I'm going to do it in any case as an experiment. I like the idea of monolithic construction, cement is going to be expensive soon(in Ukraine) and of course lime is better for everyone. I've made loads of bricks for burning and a few cement experiments on wire that got me tingling. Regular building materials have skyrocketed in price though still available but for how long meh.

    • @MissMeganBeckett
      @MissMeganBeckett Před 7 měsíci

      I saw something in the above comments that said that they did an experiment with a hempcrete block and it was completely bulletproof in their experiment even when they used fifty caliber rounds, and hemp is very easy to grow even in colder climates and is good for insulation and the plants from industrial hemp can grow very tall and even taller than people are so you can get even more construction material from each plant along with the food and oil from the seeds that you can sell. I don’t know if regular lime would work for papercrete, you would probably need to use a hydraulic lime product that can set and cure while it’s wet, because regular hydrated lime and quick lime both need to be exposed to air for it to cure properly and with how long they said it takes for thick papercrete walls to dry out you would need for it to be a strongly hydraulic lime or it would take forever to get solid walls. Hempcrete can also be made using lime or hydraulic lime too, but I’ve heard that it isn’t accepted as a structural building material by itself where I live so you would probably need to do a little research to see if it’s acceptable as a structural element in your local building codes or just reinforce the structure with metal and/or wood too in order to meet the building code requirements and just have it for its good insulation and ability to stop most small projectiles.

    Portland cement is not good for the environment at all. If you could make it with lime it would be much better but that sure wouldn’t help with drying time.
