This man truly makes learning fun
Photoshop has really come a long way, and this is the channel I always recommend to people who are new and want to learn it in an easily understandable and enjoyable way. Thank you Unmesh for being so generous with your time and knowledge. One of the best communicators and teachers on all of CZcams, and a fantastic head of hair. 😎
Blows me away....I wish it was as easy to retain the information on 'how to' as it is to watch :-) Love it
Amazing Unmesh! Another tip to try is using oil painting photoshop brushes to paint on the layer masks. You can control the direction/size/amount of brush strokes, revealing the painting beneath.
I have been following your channel since the beginning of 2023. Thank you for all the tutorias you have shared with us. I hope you keep teaching us in 2024 ! Happy 2024
You are incredible, so are your tutorials. Always learning a lot there.
THANK YOU! Helped me a lot! Can't wait to try this tutorial now. You've taught me a lot since I followed your channel
Thank you, very informative, can't wait to try this out.
Thank you, bro, for the much-awaited tutorial.
Absolutely Fantastic!!!
SIMPLY GENIUS!!!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!! Blessings in this new year 2024 😍😍🙏🙏
Awesome tutorial! Thanks a lot !
The way this turned up exactly when I needed it
Fantastic! Your are so talented! Thank you 🙏 for sharing! You are so kind!
I like this approach to transparent selections, very logical!
Thank you, this is awesome and very helpful! Integrating generative fill to add artistic backgrounds to a photo is a game-changer! I just used it on a freelance project. Makes everything so much fun and faster!
Excellent! Thank you for experimenting (playing) with PS for our benefit !! 🎉🎉
AMAZING! I learn something new in every video of yours!
To keep pace, I play your lesson at 75% speed !!! Thank you
I may be wrong but this seems to be no more working in new PS beta 25++. any workaround?
Use the non-beta version. Works well as today 4 June 2024
@@adibrazak9306 Thanks so much.
Your videos are really too hard to actually Top 10 - that good!
And this one has been clearly the most fun for about 3 months ... until today. Photoshop introduced a reference image functionality (small icon at the base of the tool box) that is supposed to key off your chosen image. I tried to use Russell Brown's action this morning and it's basically 5 layers of blue marbling. I went to see if Russell updated his alpha channel idea... and his link to the tutorial is now gone. You might want to update your post here -- eek!
But, as always, 117 thank you's for what you do for us -- opening our minds and fingertips to creative process.
This is beyond next level!
You speak so good - best teacher ever. Big fan
Will try this one! Looks pretty cool
Well, that's going to keep me busy! Great video
Man big respect for you ...
Thank you, sir. You can also use this technique to create a 3d render of a portrait by placing 'render, unreal engine' in the generative fill command while using a 25% selection alpha channel. Place that new image under the original portrait to erase facial blemishes, etc., using the erase tool... just another option for cleaning up portraits 😊
Now that flower part is quite impressive...
Best Ps Channel! tks again!!!
Great video!
Amazing effort ❤
This AI Generative Action is amazing. Thank you for teaching AI photo manipulation, Love you
Thank you so musch!!!
wow. Thanks man
Unmesh, thanks for updating Russell Brown's link to the action
Great video @piximperfect - Is there a new link to the action?
What an inspiring tutorial, thank you! I'm looking for the possibility to convert a photo into the style of a specific painter (Isaac Israels, Dutch painter). Does anyone have a suggestion on how to achieve this with Gen Fill? Thanks in advance.
You are the best ❤
Amazing as always. I am wondering every time I watch a video what the source of your creativity is. 😊
Amazing video
Amazzzzzing Unmesh 👌👍🙌🙏
Excellent 👌👍 brother
Brilliant! I used to watch Russell Brown back in the mid nineties on TV. I think it might have been on Photoshop TV with Scott Kelby?!? Thanks for all your great content and best to you and everyone in 2024!!
WOW, thank you :) Have you tried adding a style (ala a Midjourney prompt) to the painting type? I'll try, but I ask while watching the video ... priorities!
to make a perfect oil painted face just open another file zoom the face as much as you can and run the same process, after that just copy paste into your main picture , great tutorial, thank you so much
Unmesh, your videos are great!
I often use actions to create oil paintings. There are really good ones available without the need to use generative fill but this is a great alternative.
But how do you do it?
russell brown download link does not work anymore...
Wow ❤❤❤
awesome
Best Yt video
Nice🎉
This videos is good
Nice 👍
Sir Your Videos are best. I watch all your videos. Please make a video on convert any pic to vector art. Please 🙏
Thanks for the instructions, great video. Just a reminder, this ''modification'' style has been fixed by adobe. I guess they don't want us filtering photographs (yet) , it doesn't work on the latest version of photoshop beta, I had to switch to an older version to try it out.
Thanks for the video once again, take care !
the russel brown link does not work
Coooool
Thank you for such an informative video as always. Upscayle Image is not free can you please share a free version.
1 fundamental thing to underline:
Both in channels and in quick mask mode it is possible to set the selection or mask mode by double clicking.
Obviously the selection mode is much more intuitive, as the lighter the shade of gray chosen, the more similar the resulting image will be to the original...."the white reveals".....as if we placed the our image a paper that is increasingly transparent to allow the Generative Fill to "draw" from our source more and more as the percentage of our shade of gray becomes greater.
The video shows the "mask mode", in which a darker shade of gray will give a result more similar to the original.
So this is why I am getting inverse results! I was looking for this option, thanks!
@@NickSpirov If, when you are in the "channels", you hold down the ALT key and click the "+" key (Create new channel), a new panel opens with the options for the new channel you are creating: choosing between "masked areas" and "selected areas". As I was telling you, I find it more "natural" to use "selected areas" as it allows me to fill the channel with shades of grey, where the lighter (whiter, therefore more transparent) the gray will be, the more the underlying image will be taken as a reference to create a certain effect (cartoon, oil painting...). While the darker (blacker, therefore less transparent) the gray will be, the less your image will be taken into consideration by the generative filling....because it is "covered" by the overlying black!!
Look what they have to do to mimic a fraction of our power. This is why I've jumped into 3D oil paintings.
What do you mean 3d oil paintings ? Do you mean the ones that resemble optical illusions? What medium do you work on ?
@@angelsmokee By 3D oil paintings, I mean actual 3 dimensional oil paintings. I work digitally.
Hello! I’ve been a subscriber for a few years now, and recently decided to try my hand at digitizing and restoring physical photographs. I know a lot of your videos on curves, color, and retouching could probably help with this, but I was wondering if you might be interested in doing a video specifically on this subject and try to capture everything one might need to know to do this well using fully-updated Adobe CC apps. I’m especially concerned about how to deal with photos which have random splotches of discoloration from poor storage/handling. Thanks, and thanks for all the excellent videos you put out.
How do I find the action or the description list. thank you
If you create a mask and use a radial gradient over the subject, going from black to gray on the mask. Then, be sure the eyes, nose, mouth and ears are covered on the mask with black using a very soft brush. Using a very soft brush, paint varying shades of gray on the mask in areas depending on how much you want the AI to affect the image, with darker to protect the image more. Control click on the mask to make a selection. Turn off the mask (shift click), then use generative fill with the Oil Painting prompt. Because the face is protected, it will not be affected. The graduation in the mask and subsequent selection will encourage the oil painting to affect everything smoothly and gradually.
I wish we were able to use these effects locally
Wow
Link to action is broken.
This doesn't work anymore, in Firefly 3 (beta version).
Hey Umesh
I don't have a delete key on my mac. What can I do in this case?
Saw this step 2 days ago on another PS tricks .
Is it possible to use this technique in PSE as I do not want to subscribe the PS
What version of PS are you using? In 25.9 a message pops that Generative Fill is not available. It comes with the program or it is a plug in that I need to add?
Will this use action use 1 or more ai credits
Thanks for the great tutorial as always, however I'm not getting a result, even when I use the action, all I get are blue abstract pictures, often resembling the look of photo emulsion or even a screen print, its not even looking like oil paint. Have I overlooked something in the set up of Photoshop/Gen fill?
It's broken in the latest update, this tutorial doesn't work anymore.
Help please. With the original Generative fill in PS Beta, when typing in Oil Painting effect the result showed a wonderful heavily oil painting effect. However, now the results to my taste are very childish with strange items as from Firefly. Ant ideas how to achieve the original Oil Painting effect. Thank you.
Can you please make videos for turning a photo to stencil and graffiti effect please?
I can't get it to work. Does this work with the most recent Beta version of Photoshop?
BTW, I hope Marty from Blue Lightning TV was credited for this technique.
This video is a perfect demonstration of how one can use AI without losing the human touch. Also we can come to the conclusion that AI would really help us rather replacing us.
I really want to get this to work, but for me, and everyone now, it's broken. I have looked ALL over the internet, and absolutely no one has come up with any solution.
Can anyone find a resolution for this?
It seems that with the latest updates this method not longer works in the Beta version... 05/29/24
This technique does not seem to work with the latest PS Beta 2024. Tried several other approaches without success. Have you found a work around?
Is that Pearl Mackie!?
It seems it does not work in the new photoshop beta. I can get it to work in the "regular" Photoshop.
Wth the updated Photoshop (including Beta), Adobe have changed something so this technique, which worked for me on the older version, no longer works. I had macros set up to produce watercolour effect images from my photographs. I had auto update turned off for Photoshop but it updated anyway and now the older generation versions are too new as well so I am stuck. Is there anything I can do to get this technique working on the new versions of photoshop (25.9.1)
I followed these steps 5 times very carefully and each time the end result was a new window of another painting. it does not retain the original image. something is not reacting right. I am using the latest beta version of Photoshop 25.12. Can you please advise? I also tried the actions provided with the same outcome?? PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!
You're THE best sir, thank you! By the way, you nailed the facial haircut!
Any idea why this does not work for me? I have tried many times very carefully and the generative fill just gives me a random unrelated painting
Hmm, when I try to select the Alpha layer I get "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible." - I looked online and every said to change the feather to 0 but it's already at zero. What am I doing wrong?
Does this work vice versa ?
Hey Pix, sadly the video from Russel Brown is no longer viewable on vimeo via the link you provided.
Is there any other way i can obtain the quik action?
Cheers :)
Just pause the video at 04:21 and enter the URL manually (the link still works).
@@diamonddogeofficial can i ask for a copy of the action file? The dropbox link is not working anymore :(
This does not work in the latest PS Beta or current live version. I've tried several different methods and settings from your example as well as others and still get the same results - blue smeared photo options in generative fill AI.
I came here to say this also - it just generates a weird blue box-looking thing...
How come it's not working on my photoshop 2019
👍
I cant mak it work with Beta as from may 10 2024
Amazing tutorial. Just one question, the link for the action seems to be expired
Sorry for the inconvenience, the link is updated. Please check the description.
@@PiXimperfect Thanks, works fine now
@@hvsintHello bro, can I get the file? The link above cannot be accessed right now
i did everything but it was not changed after a lot of attempts.. do you know why??
Can you please teach us im mobile devices
This does not work any more. I mean turning it into a painting. The last two updates it now only becomes a blue screen and the three versions look the same. Please tell me what else I now need to do to use this?
Both your tutorial and Russell Brown’s action produce a painting unrelated to the image. What am I doing wrong?
In my window no contexual taskbar, what can i do
