Learn English through the Music of the Beatles and the Movie Yesterday

- Learning English through music and song is one of the best things that you can do as you continue to learn English. Recently I watched the movie, "Yesterday", and I thought that a great lesson would be for you to listen to 10 songs from the Beatles that appear in that movie for the next few weeks.
As you listen you should learn as many of the English lyrics to each song as you can, and then you should go see the English version of the movie.
I think this would be a great way to learn English through music, and a fun way to learn some new English songs! (If you don't already now them!)

I feel fresh when you are teaching and walking around a flower garden.
I've been listening to The Beatles since my childhood, and their music has always been a significant part of my life. I even had the pleasure of attending Paul McCartney's concert in Kyiv, which was an unforgettable experience. The Beatles have an incredibly fascinating biography, and their influence on music and culture is unparalleled.
One of my favorite films about them is "A Hard Day's Night." It's their feature film debut and one of the greatest rock-and-roll comedy adventures ever. The film has been beautifully restored with a fully restored negative and a digitally restored soundtrack. It brilliantly captures "a day in the life" of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, portraying the whirlwind of fame with a mock-documentary style that's just slightly left of reality. It's a must-watch for any Beatles fan! ❤❤❤

Hi, Bob, I totally agree with you about learning English with the Beatles' songs. I know every single song by the group and I've learnt a lot of English over the years. There are lots of idioms and phrasal verbs in their lyrics, eg "hold your head up you silly girl...hold your hand out...when you find yourself in the thick of it" (Martha my Dear), etc.
The Beatles were my favourite band when I was a boy - and they still are. I could listen to them for many days in a row, one album after another, and I sang along without even understanding the words because it was just fun. But I got used to the English language, to the way it sounds, and I got the idea of how English words are pronounced. So I totally agree with your advice to learn English through music. That's probably one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to hear English every day. Thanks for this video!

Thanks for Your recommends. I had to remember 60 years ago. I was with a broken arm in a hospital. One boy sang "let it be" I known only very little words in English, so I understood always "lady". I don't know why the boy know this song. He was also a little older than me. Later I sat next to a femal classmate. She dosn't want to listen to the teacher but she painted in her workbook "Beatles". For me also "Böhmische Dörfer" . (to be all Greek to me.)
Some day I played it on the piano for fun.

Hello, your message is funny . For two days, I have been listening in loop to the Beatles's album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts. Big Band forever. I was ten years old when this album was coming out. Hi Bob! I've watched the movie about two or three weeks ago, it got me back to my youth, in those times when the Beatles music was in tops all around the world, but not in my country, in USSR. We listened their music on BBC radio or on an old rolling reels tape recorder in big secret from all others. Records were rewritten many, many, many times from one Beatles' fan to another ect. You wouldn't imagine what was the sound quality. But whatever, that was the greatest times in my life ever! Thank you Bob! Such enjoyable praxis!

Oh my God, Bob! Thank you so much for loving the Beatles and their incredible songs! I started my love for English language with the Beatles when I was 6. I had a songbook and I didn't understand a word, but I knew and sang their songs over and over again. I adore them and while teaching my students often give them some lines from the songs, because there is all the grammar we need. All these songs you mentioned are great! I agree with you, sixth is a really hard word to pronounce. All those songs are great, it's timeless.
Even English speakers have trouble with the word sixth if we think about it too much! 😎🎤🎧🎹🎸
