I love how the son described being adopted. "Someone gave me life, but they have let me live it" (paraphrased) That was the best way I've heard someone pay tribute to their adoptive parents. Beautiful.
Must have made the adoptive parents so happy. He's 100% my dad. Loved it!
Absolutely love how their mostly homogenous society accepted him being of a different ethnic background. His family is beautiful.
And they trash the faroe island genepool in the process. Stupid suicidal altruism

This has to be one of my top 3 videos. The way Sonny just connects and cracking up with the whole family. You could tell him and Jacob would have been good friends 😂
You and the son had great chemistry, you need to invite him to host a side series and get his reaction of different dishes around the world as you do but with the added chemistry, that would make a great show!

Almost cried when the son talked about his parents was easily the most beautiful and profound moments I’ve seen in a long time
Ohh Man. That last part when you ask Jacob about being adopted, that was intense.
And his answer was absolutely emotional.
That's why we love you Sonny. You not only show us about food and culture, you also make us emotional with these things by asking about their personal life and stuff related to them.
You always give us inspiration Sonny.
You are an absolutely amazing man.

Wow...I didn't expect that. Food and life story sharing. This a great team of content creator. It's not just the food but also the people who prepare it. Sonny really knows how to put chemistry between him and the folks around him.
Very happy for Jacob, he's able to love and appreciate who gave him birth but also appreciates and loves who his parents are.
I just want to say that you and your production team do an amazing job. I learn so much about food and culture of people around the world. Cheers to you guys 🎉
Can you believe that food network and travel channel skipped on this team? Probably the best bad news you can receive because now Sonny owns all of the content, earned his way onto the worlds biggest podcast, and gets more views than a TV show could ever hope for.
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and Zakah as long as I remain alive And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive." That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute. It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. [Jesus said], "And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path." Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to those who disbelieved - from the scene of a tremendous Day.

The Faroe Islands has fascinated me for a long time. You’ve provided insight into their culture and their cuisine. Thank you for making this documentary.
As a colombian it's awesome seeing they were adopted in such a far away place
And they assimilated properly to the native culture.
Sunny has a special talent for connecting with people. No matter where he is, whether it is in Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, or in this episode, the Faroe Islands, he knows how to bond with the locals. He has a way of finding common ground and building relationships with people. Plus, his sense of humour and timing are amazing. Just like always it was a great watch and Sunny never disappoints. This episode was edited really well, and I can't wait to see more from Bangladesh.

Duuuuuuude…
Been watching this show for years, going through my bi-annual monthly binge.
The last segment of this video had me choking up!
What a fantastic show you guys have built. From the team’s work, to Sonny’s fantastic job at being personable and the ability not to disrespect anyone; from the choice of music; the editing…
Bravo, folks.
Bravo.
I remember watching Bizarre Foods years back with Andrew Zimmern when he went to that place...he could not get those people to open up at all, it was honestly kind of an odd episode because of how they barely talked or reacted to anything he did. But here you are getting them to relax and even joke around seemingly so easily. And I think they respected how open you were to trying everything without hesitation. Good stuff.
Wow arthritis is cause of rotten meat
Also because they have a good sense of humour😉 a bit nordic as black... But once you get it...and sonny certainly does, has as grasp🤗😅
Zimmern kind of strikes me as being condescending, as well as being very "on" for the camera. When Sonny had him on an episode it was really disappointing. Like, obviously he's looked up to this guy for years, then he came across as a total dick. I used to really like him when I was a kid but I've become disillusioned.
@@arieldanielle23 I get what you are saying completely and i think it is because the TV guys always looked down their nose at youtube guys. I saw him with Mark Weins too and that same dynamic was clear. Mark was his usual happy self plus starstruck and Zimmern just had that "what am i doing here?" attitude. and it is the exact same way movie stars look down on TV guys.
Sonny is a peoples person, so it's eat for people to open up to him. He also has beautiful manners and always so receptive to learn, those qualities work for him
man, i fuckin tear up sometimes watching your videos, Sonny. you're just such a great dude, and honestly you inspire me to try new things. you never "yuck" anyone's "yum," and you're always simultaneously respectful and funny. the world could use more people like you in it ❤

What an incredible series. Thank you for bringing these awesome cultural experiences to us!

Hell yeah!
You go girl.
As a person who grew up in rural southern US a couple of decades ago I think it's important to see farm animals raised and slaughtered.
It teaches you respect and sacrifice as well as avoiding excessive meat consumption.
It's easy to eat pounds of bacon when you're not the one who saved the sow buried in the mud as a runt.
The fermented food sounds very tasty- above all, the story of the brother and sister that were adopted by the two kind hearts mother and father touched my heart for sure.
Yeah I sometimes leave the beef I buy on the counter at room temperature for 4-5 days sometimes and I personally find that it makes the beef faaaar more tender to the point that you don't need to cook it. Whenever I make meat loaf I do this and just mold the raw beef into a loaf and put a sauce of ketchup and a LOT of brown sugar on top as a glaze and serve it to my family. Sure, we have gotten parasites before as well as food poisoning but sometimes taste is more important than maybe getting sick for a couple days or shitting out worms. If anything the worms make shitting more interesting and help with weight loss.
@Hia Dei Kum every thing tastes better fermented/aged.
Like cheese? Meats, fruits, wine, alcohol etc. I think us humans are on to something 🤭

Bro, skinning that sheep like that is amazing!
Sonny and Jacob and the balls. OMGEEE! Hahaha! Those two and their commentary had me laughing out loud! 😂 Loved the sound effect of the ‘gulp’ at 2:52. Again, what a beautiful family and beautiful traditions. The way that Jacob processed the sheep was amazing. Beautifully done! I love how turkey, prime rib, or in my case-tamales and posole are reminders of Christmas. On Faroe Islands, it’s fermented sheep and innards, the head, and fat. Sonny, thank you for taking the time to describe the odor and taste. It was as if I was there right there along side you. Loved this video so much! Thank you!
Honestly, feel like these were some of the best people on the show. Almost like Sonny was literally just becoming family to them.

Loving these Faroe island 🇫🇴 vlogs and Jacob what a guy his parents done great job rasing such a great guy he seems nice 💙 Loving these videos
Almost brought to tears when he talked about his Dad. Phenomenal.
Dry fermented sheep is soooooo good! We eat it in Morocco as well (after we preserve meat from Eid) and it does take getting used too, but the pungent smell can be so addicting
They do it in Haiti too. It tastes good. But you have to get used to the taste, indeed. I think they also eat fermented sheep in France as well.
When I was younger, the concept seemed wierd (American here), but it's basically like how we treat dairy. Ferment it.
This video was hilarious and oddly satisfying. I don't think I would be adventurous enough to eat fermented meat, let alone fermented sheep intestines currently, but I am glad you did and I got to watch you react to it! Also the social bonding is very wholesome.

Jonhein's blunt jokes are hilarious 😂
I've eaten some really bad blood pudding and am scarred from having done so, but that recipe she used has me willing to try again lol. So many different ways...
I recommend the spanish Morcilla black pudding - - if you like chorizo you will like that
@annother3350 love chorizo, will put this on my try list!
My mother used to make it but as a child did find it too sweet as we likewise put syrup on top. Perhaps today I would appreciate it more🤔😉😅
I think it is something you have to grow up with in order to really love it. Being from the North of England I adore the stuff, but I can appreciate it is not for everybody. Most blood pudding is made from pig's blood, so the Faroese way (with sheep's blood) is quite different. I like the way they add dried fruit to it (something I'm sure was done here in England a few hundred years' ago).
There are certainly bad blood puddings, especially now that most of it is made from dried blood, and I'm not a fan of Scottish versions (too mealy and dry).
I do like the fresh Spanish versions, morcilla, (but not the hard cured versions), and I would love to try the French Normandy versions (with apple).
@@horsenuts1831 The hard cured Morcilla on a pizza though is amazing!
