This is easy and hard at the same time. All the notes are easy, but putting everything together in one go is takes a lot of endurance!

Thanks! Yea, I didn't pick the key lol. But I like how it ended up for this one.

Adolphe Adam wrote the original in concert Eb. Scoring it for a Bb trumpet, it would be in F, one of the easiest fingering keys there is. In concert pitch, this version would be in 6 flats with one double flat, which is utterly insane. Why wouldn't the arranger use the key of E natural instead, which would give it the same sound? F# isn't that difficult a key for a Bb trumpet.

I love the 5 flats. This key signature feels darker and warmer.

Which program do you use to make the videos please? I have some trumpet play alongs I want to add but can’t work out how to smoothly scroll up in time to the music. Many thanks.

For these videos I use Finale, Adobe Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro X. I put together the sheet music in Finale. I then put that sheet music into Photoshop. I then export it from Photoshop so it's a PNG file, which allows me to put different pictures behind it and still have the notes visible. If I have multiple pages of music, I combine it into one giant page in Photoshop before exporting it as a PNG file. From there, I put it into Final Cut Pro X for the video portion. There's something called "Key frames" that you use in Final Cut Pro. If you search that on CZcams there's numerous videos on how to use them. With the key frames you can have your sheet music go from one point to another. You then just have to play around with the key frames while listening to the audio to make sure it scrolls in time. That's basically it. I know it sounds long and confusing, but it's just hard to explain it all here.

@@thetrumpetman thanks so much for the info. I was using PowerPoint to create the slides and then Movie Maker for the videos. I think I need to go more high tec for play alongs to make them look nice. Thanks for all your play alongs: they’ve given me something to play with whilst shielding from Covid and keeping away from all my bands.

Where can I find the music and accompanist part? I’m performing in a Christmas recital and would love to perform this.

Accompaniment: czcams.com/video/WWP3Yf-QJSU/video.html. I currently don't have the sheet music available, because I forgot to get this one uploaded. Maybe I can get that fixed at some point.

I don't think I'd do another one with them written in, but I could maybe put it in the comment if it helps. What type of solfege do you use? Fixed "Do" or movable "Do"?
