This video is about my solo bike trip to east sikkim. I left for Gangtok early in the morning from siliguri.
I reached Gangtok, the vibrant capital city of Sikkim, after a few hours of riding and collected my east sikkim permit for the bike and for myself.
I traveled to Changu Lake from there, a peaceful place, surrounded by majestic mountains. It's a sight to behold, especially when the glistening waters reflect the snow-capped peaks. i did enjoy the cable car in changu lake beyond my expectations.
Next, I ride through Nathula Pass, where I see the border between India and China. It's a cool feeling being there, knowing the history and significance of this place. The views of the snow-capped peaks are absolutely breathtaking.
Later, I make sure to stop at New Baba Mandir and Old Baba Mandir to show respect and gratitude towards Indian army. These are sacred sites dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier who is believed to protect the soldiers along the border. People come here to seek blessings.
Afterwards, I continue riding in the direction of Nathang Valley, a really pleasant but remote location via kukup village. Beautiful Alpine fields are scattered across this high-altitude plateau, which is surrounded by mountains. Aside from the breathtaking views, the air is crisp and refreshing. Isatyed there for the night in a cozy homesaty.
Next day morning, riding to Silk Route is like going back in time. It's neat to see the old parts of the road and imagine what it was like for the traders who traveled along it centuries ago, exchanging goods and cultures. The following morning, as the first light breaks over the horizon, I awaken to the stunning beauty of Zuluk. With a lot of excitement. I saw the beautiful sunrise at thambi view point though it was cloudy that day.
On my way back, though, NH 10 was closed off because of recent flood in the area. So, I set out to explore Lava and Gorubathan, making my way through charming towns and picturesque scenery. The trip back to Siliguri was full of exciting new experience.
