I love many Goutals. Missing the old bottles and some discontinued perfumes. I love Ninféo Mio, Nuit Etoilée, Ambre Fétiche, Songes, Un Matin d'Orage, Sables, Eau d'Hadrien etc...Most of them are indeed very delicate and poetic. I also loved their former boudoir style which really suited their fragrances. Ohhh...the gorgeous butterfly bottles! I should have bought the limited edition of Nuit Etoilée. The blue bottle with the stars was sooo gorgeous! As was the advertising poster! Very dreamy and out of a fantasy world... Matin d'Orage should probably be called Un Matin après l'orage...when the storm settles and everything gets quiet again. You can feel the air which is still thick and humid from the rain, the drops on the (white) flower petals and the sun breaking through the clouds. ...I love it! Again a very poetic and subtle perfume.

Yes! Annick Goutal used to "play the piano" also! I recently purchased Bois d'Hadrien and was almost instantly brought to happy tears as memories of the forests my family and I spent so many lovely, fun times visiting for recreation during my childhood came flooding back to me in a visceral way!! Hi Persolaise. Only just watched this and your discussion of Eau d'Hadrian, and the Annick Goutal fragrance house, has cheered me up on a dark day in Manchester. Kendals in Manchester was the scene of my 1st venture into serious perfume appreciation. I always loved beauty halls in Dept. Stores but the day a kind saleslady at the Annick Goutal counter gave me a sample bag of their soli-flores plus Grand Amour, I was awakened to perfume. Although I never bought a soli flore, I have had 3 bottles of Eau d'Hadrian including a large size butterfy stopper bottle like your mini set. I also have Eau de Sud & Grand Amour which reminds me of vintage Chamade that I was lucky enough to smell in my teens. Recent releases from Goutal have not held the same fascination for me. Thanks for honouring this fragrance and for sharing your stunning sample coffret. The original Annick Goutal perfumes enthrall me, so balanced and sophisticated. 💐
Great video! I would like to share my idea for the 10.000 subscriber celebration: It would be fantastic to see where and how you store your fragrances. You must own a very high amount, which in my mind is stored in palace-like rooms with sunlight flooding through rows and rows of shelves.
I remember having the Petite Cherie Boule Papillon edition many years ago, I was so in love with both the scent and the bottle! One day my mum came for a visit, saw the bottle and was curious about it so she decided to grab it by the butterfly cap... OMG worst idea ever. The cap came off and the bottle fell on the floor. The bottle didn´t break but most of the perfume ended up everywhere and the bathroom smelled of Petite Cherie for months.
Right you are, Persolaise: Gardenia Passion was Madonna's favorite perfume, according to her estranged brother's 2008 book about her. Madonna is probably how I got into Goutal back in the day (Eau de Charlotte for me) and is definitely how I wound up wearing Fracas for years! She was indeed good with the perfumes! 💛
I literally gasped when you showed the butterfly bottles. AG was my first niche house - with Vanille Exquise (blind buy when I was obsessed with finding the perfect vanilla). Well represented in my collection, and was on my short list of boutiques to visit in Paris, although I prefer the older bottles to the new ones. As someone who can’t find it in me to spent $300 for a bottle of perfume, I appreciate that their price point is a little more “reasonable”. Eau d’Hadrien is a favorite summer perfume.

I think if you're trying to market to the Middle East, dropping the 'Annick' is a good idea as, written in Arabic, the word is carnal profanity personified. (It means "I f***"). Blimey 😳
I have Eau de Hadrien Unisex. One bottle came in a special box with gold plate on the front. The second with floral on the front. What is the difference.

Well, the Goutal is fresher, but then it doesn’t last as long. The Tauer extends the citrus note into its somewhat darker, more opaque drydown.

I'm afraid all I know is that they're not used any more.
I like the scents esp the honeysuckle one but they sadly never last long on me so just doesn’t justify the cost in my case
