      @@PechPongTT agree completely. As i went through the yt videos i saw a lot of very basic instructions. Like focusing on pure mechanics with no adaptations or lack of very basic things like point of contact when hitting a backspin ball for example.
      But as i known just judged by percentage of players, the vast majority of all tt players are in this skill bracket.
      Not many players above a certain skill bracket are even using yt as a tool to get better, because they a) have a professional training setup with coaches etc (which i dont) or b) they play for that long (10y+) that they think, they dont need it.

      The ball stays longer on the racket or rolls up the face of the racket. Lots of friction and dwell time. If you hit the ball flat it has very little dwell time going In and out quickly you want to drag the ball on the rubber.

    what's the diff btw kick and top spin? both are used to make the opponent hit long no?

    • @PechPongTT
      @PechPongTT  Před rokem

      yes both are made to make the opponent hit the ball long, one person from the comments said it nicely kick serve is when the spin on the ball makes the ball jump faster when it hits the opponents side of the table where a topspin serves topspin doesnt increase the speed of the ball once it hits the opponents side of the table.

    @taumax Před rokem

    Is kick serve the same as topspin serve?

    • @jezzag9739
      @jezzag9739 Před rokem +1

      My opinion is that a kick serve is a top spin serve where the second bounce is higher than normal as its slowing down. This is made by giving a higher spin rotation and a slower speed through the serve. I'd say basic topspin would normally be faster and a lower second bounce as it hasnt had a chance to slow down.

    • @PechPongTT

      @taumax Před rokem

      @@PechPongTT can you do a tutorial on this serve? I did a youtube search and there aren't many. Also Im not understanding why the 2nd bounce will be higher than usual given the topspin, because by physics I think the topspin will cause the ball to naturally bounce with a lower trajectory off the table no matter what the speed?

    • @knotwilg3596
      @knotwilg3596 Před rokem +1

      I wouldn't make it too complicated and say kick = topspin.The "kick" is achieved by giving topspin, so for me it's the same thing but expressing cause and effect. Perhaps "kick" refers to deep heavy topspin serves, while a slow short topspin serve would not be called "kick". But that's again making it needlessly complicated.
