- First time fishing Rocky Hollow Park near Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Spoiler alerts: the fish start small, get a little bigger, Waylon (my dog) gives some comedy relief, and a natural hybrid makes an appearance. I started off using a 1/80 ounce jig and then switched to a streamer to make things a little more fun and challenging. The jig that I used is called a Standard and the wooly I used was an olive and white color combination. Those flies can be found at my Etsy store. At the end, there is a short PSA about Frontline Fly Fishing. If you would like to learn more about becoming a member or volunteering, feel free to go to frontlineflyfishing.org for more information. As with all the videos, I hope this one educates and entertains.

Really, your fishing videos are awesome.
I love Rocky Hollow!!! The wooded bank is usually fire!!!
That and the dam are where I’ve had my best luck for sure!
Awesome video Tyler! Funny watching Waylon eat the fish! You should actually just let him eat an entire gill🤣 Nice Bass and gills, look like lots of fun on a 4wt. I have a 2wt I use for panfish and its a blast. I'll have to check out and support "Frontline" such a cool deal for those in need. Take care my friend✌
Ya another amazing video ive been waiting forever. Cool dog lol
Thanks buddy. I try to do one a month. That's about all I have time for. As you saw, Waylon is pretty cool but he's still a puppy with a lot of energy! Thanks for being my biggest fan!
@@TheShowMeFlyGuy always look forward to the next video
I'm not sure who was having the most fun, you or Waylon.
It was definitely a toss up! He’s a good fishing buddy and it’s fun when we are happy together for sure!
Your having to much fun.
Not everyday is like this, but this was one of the good ones!
Awesome man. I am ordering a 8 foot 6 four weight to get started. Should I get a 6 or 7 weight when I wanna go for the bass? Just wondering.
Great question! I try to stick with even numbers when it comes to rod weights. I own 4 weights, 6 weights, and 8 weights. You could do odd numbers and get the same results. I just don’t see a need to own a 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. But that’s just me.
@@TheShowMeFlyGuy ok thats exactly how I felt was just wondering eventually when I buy rods for bass too since I live in Oklahoma there is not much trout fishing here. Thank you for the advice.
@@southerncastin2552 Anytime buddy! I always like to see social media help people and answer questions!
