Andrea Bocelli is blind and besides his native Italian he speaks, French, Spanish and English and has a wonderful voice. This man is incredible and I am in awe of him this was beautiful and classy.

My mother once told me that in 1944 her first love a Frenchman sang this "la ve la rose " to her an as a child she would sing it to me over 70 years ago in his memory, such a beautiful song especially this great man singing it now
I absolutely love how Edith’s verse is woven into this, decades after her passing. It adds a new context to the song, as though two people kept apart by the tides of time were still able to be with each other through the bars of a rhyme.

A friend of mine once drove mr Bocelli here in Lisbon. He was driving a powerful BMW, i cannot recall the exact type. But as Mr Bocelli got in he asked my friend to work the engine for him to feel the power of the car.

Thank You. This is so nice. Recently i met blind girl. And did not get immediately this. Cause, seemed so natural to me. Then, when got this, crossed me how blind people see much more cause do not use eyes, then inside one. They read the energie like described here in a car feeling the vibration while driving. Thank You

He does amazing things for a blind man, he was a practising lawyer before hand and rides to this day horses (not very slowly either), he used his hearing to detect where balls were when he played football at a young age as he had limited sight before ultimately the game took what little sight he had when he miscalculated and a ball hit his eye causing a brain hemorrhage leading to total blindness...

as a lifelong Francophyle, I loved the combination of operatic Italian tenor with the incomparable Edith Piaf in this setting and including the accordion for authenticity. tears in eyes every time I listen. I want so much to return to France once more before I die, walk along Rue Moufftarde on market day to absorb the culture I love so much.
