INCREASE YOUR BENCH PRESS NOW! TIPS from Mark Bell: Featuring Marc Lobeliner

  • In my opinion this is one of the BEST Bench videos we have ever shot from The STrongest Gym In The West! We cover every major point in bench pressing big weights along with showing you a workout.
Marc Lobliner has a recurring shoulder pain when he goes heavy on the bench press, but Mark Bell and Silent Mike are able to fix up his form and get him benching heavy again without pain.

Great job ... never too much Bench technique. Mark, you going after the 600 was very motivational. I had not benched 400 Raw in a meet since early 2104. After watching your 600 effort, I was inspired to get back and hit 410 at a meet in February (not bad for a 53 year old). Thanks for all you do with training videos, the Power Project, Power
Magazine and the Sling Shot (all Master lifters should have one).

I am 54 years old and got Raw 551 pounds on my bench easily at my last meet. 560 is next and eventually 600. I just started lifting at 51 and powerlifting at 52 so this is all exciting for me. Rock on and keep up the great videos.

Thanks for the tips. This video is the only video I have been able to locate that is specific to the technique of the bench press. From an explanation of the hand grip to explaining the difference between benching with a wide grip and using a wide grip but tucking the elbows in, you provide a great visual of the proper bench. It si a great reminder for those of us who have lifted over 30 years of the basics and how anyone can stray off the path to a proper lift.

I seriously do not understand why people hate Lobliner so much. My coach went MIA the week of my bodybuilding show and I did not know what to do so I emailed Marc Lobliner and he was not even my coach and he called me up (as he was moving through an airport traveling for work), got a quick synopsis of my situation and within an hour he emailed me back with a full game plan and agreed to help me with my peak week with daily check ins and was extremely helpful. Not one time did he ask me for a fucking penny. Sure he tries to sell supplements, he OWNS SUPPLEMENT PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING MULTI MILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES, only a fool would not try to promote their own businesses to support their family. This guy is a real, genuine person in an industry full of fakes.

Hey Mark, just wanna say thanks for an awesome video. I just did a new personal best in bench press today at 170kg (375lbs) and I think it was because I tried to use the technique that you show in this video :-)

Was gonna ask more about your thoughts on the negative phase's speed in bench, but i see Mr Lobliner is about my speed in the negative phase, i'm even bit slower i think. I've concluded it's my style to keep the package tight, and to protect specially my shoulders. Anyway, hope you would cover the bench press negative phase more in some future videos, you can get a good discussion about it for sure. Awesome bench video anyway, propably the best in tube i've seen. Thanks.

Main takeaways to reduce shoulder pain: retract scapula, arch lower back to put you more in a decline bench position and most importantly break/bend the bar while trying to pull the bar apart through the whole lift.

After squatting Wednesday, working up to 2 reps 385... Today (Friday) I used your knee wraps after warm up of 275, I did 395 twice and 405 once clean... I've out of the gym for 30 years, started back a couple years ago, but hurt my leg (work around that) hurt my back (work around that) hurt my shoulder (work around that) all from dumb bull shit... I've been back strong since Jan. My goal was to Squat 405 to 450 by the end of Aug. when I turn 70. I'm working on Dead-Lift 380 and Bench 275 (With Sling-Shot as of today)... Those wraps are Magic, There was No Fuc_in Way...
