Yea. At least it is partial admission of how dire it is for the Ukrainians. We'll see if the US infusion of aid makes much of a difference. Of course, I'm of the opinion that helping the Ukrainians "win" was never really in the cards to start with. Seems the desired goal of the West is to keep it as close to a stalemate as possible. In reality, Russia has the resources to keep resupplying and have a ready supply of cash via sales of petroleum and the sanctions are at best a hindrance. As long as the Russian people keep accepting huge losses for every foot of ground they take, I see no way for Ukraine to win no matter how much aid they receive. I don't know why the world thought that the Russians would not keep going. They've proved throughout their military history there really isn't any such thing as "unacceptable losses", sadly.

All that means is "we can't hold this place at the moment without a lot more of our soldiers getting killed than the enemy, so we'll move back to another defensive position where we have the advantage again." Not knowing when to withdraw, or refusing to withdraw, has been the downfall of many an army in history. :)

She further accused Zelensky of "throwing" Ukrainians into the furnace of war. She further blasted Zelensky for not reaching an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid the war.
Not Ukraine. Ukraine doesn't have the luxury of thinking about commercial flights. If they lose the war, there'll be no commercial jets to fly. Hence, they need men at the front more than future commercial pilots. Yet, here this guy is, avoiding the draft from the comfort of Switzerland.

There is one issue that Dennis seems not to mention a lot, it is the lack of good soldiers and why that is. Yes, they have the 47th Motorized Brigade, but not much else on that level. The biggest Achilles heel for Ukraine was the 2023 Summer Counteroffensive, because it drained Ukraine of the best, most motivated reserves. Have they abstained from it, right now they would have been perfect to plug the holes in Ukrainian defense lines while more units would be trained with proper training in the rear. And now, Ukraine has to send whatever reserves are left to fight to preserve strategic positions, and this makes it very hard to build another army in the rear, which also makes the quality of training much lower. So that is the biggest issue. Side note, apparently the summer counteroffensive was encouraged and planned by NATO and US generals, who were accustomed to fighting with overwhelming superiority against poorly armed militia, and not the peer army, therefore, their tactics and planning (which were very effective against armed militia) were complete failure against Russian army. So in my humble opinion, it is this arrogance of "we are going to party in Crimea soon" that led to where we are today. Just my two cents.
It's always the same question of making the war with the army you have instead of the army you wish for.

@@williwass6837 I don't know if he mentioned it a lot of times, I may have missed it. However, from the latest videos that I watch he says mostly that it is the equipment and ammo that is the cause of Ukraine's problems, that is why I felt to share my view that it is not the equipment, it is the men (specifically well-trained units) that is a far bigger problem. You can print as much money as you want, you can even in time re-build some of your industrial capacity to produce shells or equipment, but you cannot print or produce men. I think the reason why a lot of Ukrainian's don't like to talk about shortage of men is political; if they say they are running low on men that means they have to admit to far higher casualty rate then 31K that Zelensky has stated (I still don't know how he was not embarrassed to say it with a straight face), and that also means that the tactics that Russia uses are more sophisticated than simple "meat waves", as the propaganda narrative has been trying to promote (in part because it makes the enemy look stupid and in lack of tactics). I am glad that Dennis has finally started to share more of the reality of the front line, instead of the usual "everything is great and we are going to win soon" hype that he did way back when. But he also has been trying to encourage support, so in that case I can understand some of it and why it was done for. But the lesson here is this: don't make a mistake disrespecting your enemy, and tell the truth, it may come out either way eventually.

Ukrainian soldiers are fierce and capable, but need support, rotation, and rest. Ofc the Ukrainian govt is very aware of this, if we are, they are! And they are addressing this problem. I’m also sure there are a number of ways to resolve this situation …
Russia is using “ meat grinder” attacks, of course. Conscripts with little training go in first. It wouldn’t surprise me if Russia sent children to fight. Do you think Putin an authoritarian madman and his Kremlin co- horts care about how many of their soldiers die? Of course not. So yeah, it’s simple disgusting warfare that works, so they will keep doing it as long as they can.
It’s war, of course it’s he🔥🔥 on the frontlines, but with EU and NATO realizing with every passing moment the stark reality of what it means if the aggressive regime of Putin wins, Ukraine has more support now than it ever has from all these countries. Boots on the ground…who knows?
Denys, one of Ukraines strengths is the possibility of being in the EU and NATO, advertise for foreign soldiers to come and help you fight and part of the package is citizenship of Ukraine after 6 months service and a financial reward of £2000 / month wage with a £20k bonus after 1 year service. I actually think many nations will support this initiative and allow their people to take part. Think outside the box and do it quickly.

While I have been upset by the news of Russian successes in Ukraine, I think it is important to keep a couple things in mind: the first being that the further Russia advances into Ukraine, the longer their supply line is going to be stretched. Second, the Russian Air Force has been able to conduct more operations because Ukrainian SAMs have had to be more conservative with how many missiles they fire. If Ukraine could threaten Russia planes with SAMs, then this kind of advancement would not be possible.
