Don't worry, it affects many of us. I've had social anxiety since I can remember - it was so severe in my teens that whenever I had to buy something, I actually had to walk around for at least an hour before to practice in my head what I would say to the cashiers because I was terrified I wouldn't be able to hold a normal dialogue and thus people would think I'm ridiculous.
It gets better, I promise ❤

aw i also have social anxiety and I HATEDDD the feeling of my throat swelling and my eyes getting watery, it always made me feel weak. But luckily now I've gotten a lot of help with it and have been able to manage it a bit better
Yesss I’ve never heard anyone talk about the physical symptoms of social anxiety like I talk to my friends n family about it and they just think I’m just shy and exaggerating like no I’m near a panic attack rn
I grew up thinking other shy people felt the same way I did and was shocked to find out it was actually social anxiety and not just being introverted 🤣 I was like ohh that makes sense..

*3:42* *That used to happen to me too, now I'm 16 and I have gotten a lot of advice and encouragement which had a huge impact on me mentally. Because I've stepped out of my comfort zone a lot. I am still shy and don't really start conversations and feel very nervous when it comes to many things. However, things have gotten better for me and now a lot of the time when I socialise, I dont flick my nails anymore, my back doesn't get sweaty, my throat doesn't close up. And it's a huge improvement for me :). My heart still does beat very fast but it's not as bad as it used to be.*

i luv the blush colour! i didnt expect this too get this deep. i have aocial axienty since i was a kid .i would throw up and hyperventilate when i would have to go to classes. i would not eat at school for years bec i always felt sick too my stomach with so much people around. in highschool i would eat in the bathroom stall and avoid social interaction. it really effected me i feel like i wasted my youth because of it it was at its worst in highchool i got put on meds and its become much better! im sad to hear you struggle w this as well but this was comforting too me you are not alone sis💕

Hi, Jessica! I love your videos, your makeup is so flawless! Could you do a video on how to apply lashes correctly? I love lashes but they often look wonky because I don't have a good technique.
I turn red, get hot, and sweat too when people's attention is focused on me. This happened during presentations, job interviews, and one on one conversations w/ strangers. It was so mortifying and frustrating. I didn't realize that was social anxiety. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one this happens to. Thanks!
I never realised until you started listing your "symptoms", but it's making me think that I might have mild social anxiety too. Sometimes I start sweating so much and I can't speak properly because I get that throat closing sensation that you spoke of. I always thought I was just shy or that my mind and body just forgot that they're on the same team, but maybe it's genuine anxiety. Thank you so much for sharing, and I loved the look today!

omg i have the same thing with other types of vitamin c - one reason i think why the other vitamin c's ive tried are so irritating (mentholatum, inkey list n i think the ordinary) is bc they usually have this oil-based feel to them which feels really suffocating for my skin! goodal is the only vitc serum i've used that has a refreshing gel like texture

I am a teenager.I have been trying to stop my social anxiety went to therapy etc . Didn’t help . I have the same symptoms my back would gets sweaty my throat closes up my face gets hot and I start shaking. It has gotten way better

I feel like the physical symptoms of social anxiety are not talked about enough, at least when I was growing up (in my early 20’s now). Growing up I used to think I was just REALLY shy. Then when introversion/extroversion became more big, I thought I was just introverted. The idea of me having social anxiety didn’t start to form until my first few years of college, and I didn’t think to confront those symptoms until COVID (2020-2021) when I also sought out a therapist.
Half the battle was just acknowledging the physical symptoms (fast heart rate, excessive sweating, throat closing up) were interfering with my everyday life. And then also acknowledging that I didn’t have to keep living like that and that I needed help. The other half of the battle is developing healthier coping skills and also pushing myself outside my comfort zone in controlled doses. I’m not healed of all social anxiety in all scenarios, but I’m happy to say the worst is past me☺️
