I remember watching this game all those years ago. I remember when I saw 3:16 I knew it would be such a special season.
Romario 1993-1995. Ronaldo 1996-1997. Rivaldo 1997-2002. Ronaldinho 2003-2008. Then a steady build-up with Alves 2008 - ?. And then the one that will eclipse them all: Neymar 2013 - ?. Then throw in players like Hagi, Figo, Enrique, Cocu, Kluivert, Xavi, Saviola, Iniesta, Deco, Eto'o and of course the glorious Lionel Messi along the way. What a wonderful period to be a Barca fan.

There was no tiki taka today, they didn't give us the chance with their dirty play and dangerous forwards. Only time we got to settle down for possession play was in the 2nd half when Atleti already gave up and down to 10/9 men with no attacking threat.
Barça has lost some of the tiki taka features with the inclusion of Rakitic, Neymar and Suarez, but we have skyrocketed in the counter attack and open field play.
Dinglie Danglie Doodle I almost felt us counter attacking was a part of the plan by Lucho rather than being a reaction to Atleti pressing us. Anyone with basic football knowledge can say its impossible to play the possession game against Atleti at the Calderon. They hunt the opposition down and force them into loosing the ball. So Lucho must have given instructions to the players to play super quick transition game so we could have more space while on the attack
Amey Pednekar It depends which game plan Atleti has, they have 2(defensive and pressure). We have won them with possession play in the past before, this match they came all out guns blazing(foolishly sacrificing defense) I could even say that there was no defense, how else would you explain a Juanfran 1 on 1 against Neymar near the halfway line?
Counter attacking will never be the main game plan for Barça, Barça was notorious for not having plan B, but now we have the means and the will to be flexible in tactics. Remember, this is Barça we are talking about, if we could walk it in we would.

Holly sh*t Atleti lost their sh*t last night. I mean Arda just throwing his boot at the linesman, Juanfran gesturing to Neymar about the 1-7 loos of Brazil vs Germany. I mean, today they realised they cannot always ein by kicking and counter atacks and set pieces. Barca basically gave them a taste if theur own medicine, two counter atack goals and one from a set piece(yes an own goal but still came from a corner) . Great spirit from atleti, only Barca was like a wrecking ball last night.

I would have called that Jordi hands a penalty, deliberate or not. Rulebook must be more flexible to allow a pen and not red carding. You can't punish Atleti's chance at goal because you think Jordi couldn't get his hands away on time. Jordi was more in the wrong, he should have tucked his arms in and not moved his arms when the ball was shot.
In the end, both of these errors by the referee cancel each other out. So all's fair.

Oh, and Simeone's got his tactics wrong against Barça. Think we couldn't counterattack? ....SUPRISE!!! This is not the same Barça. Lol Leaving that much room in the back, Simeone scrapped his defensive play chasing that goal. It's like he hasn't watched Suarez in Liverpool or Neymar in Brazil team. There was no need to chase that goal when Torres scored, Atleti should have settled and played their normal game.
Atletico Madrid didn't want to settle back and play very defensive because they didn't want to risk extra time because they knew they don't have players that can play over 90 minutes like the Barcelona players. That is why when Torres scored Atletico kept pressuring and attacking, because if they went to extras Barcelona would have crush them. Just like Real Madrid crush them 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League Final 2014. Atletico Madrid players were extremely gased out after Sergio Ramos last minute goal that forced it to extra time, which allowed Real Madrid to score 3 more goals because the Atletico players couldn't play any more. Same would have happened to Atletico in this game if they settled back and risk extra time.

I am Madrid fan and I agree they tend to be worse but I respect all teams and this year Messi is playing better whilst in beginning he was doing bad and Cristaino was on fire.
