Love the new intro Helen … I have to admit I was shouting a the screen “its 43, definitely 43 hours “😂 PS - your indoor plants, when they aren’t doing well just need a holiday outdoors for a month or two (depending on the season), a horticulturalist friend gave that advice a few years ago and it saved some our very expensive house plants from the bin!
Or new soil, if watering isn’t enough
I always feel nostalic at the end of summer too. Really enjoyed this vlog, it was so calm and chill. Loved the babies on the paddle boards and Diane whining for Lola, so sweet.
I think the productivity without pressure thing is something we all struggle with! I work in an office and when times are quieter my entire team says they feel like this. Defo not just a symptom of being self-employed. Don't beat yourself up!
Heeeleeennn - if the palm is drying out it might be root bound, too many roots taking all the water quickly. Check for pests too. Bottom watering the big guys also find more effective.
Wish we had decent warm summers but yeah I’m with you on that as summer is so freeing and always has the best plans. I have started decorating for Halloween already though, guilty! I hate winter too, it goes on for way too long 😂
As a freelance translator I feel you 100%! My work comes and goes and I really struggle to stay motivated when I haven't got a full to-do list. I also keep saying that I will enjoy some time off when I don't have as much work but then I just end up feeling guilty for not working and end up spending my days looking up at what "normal" jobs I could and feel like should be applying for xx

I have autism and adhd and i relate partially to your struggle. I also clearly lack focus when I'm not under pressure, but i need way much more "down" time than a typical adhd person, so I tend to like it. But if it stays for too long, then yeah it becomes a problem because I start to get absolutely shitty at life, like I can do only 1 task per day (ie: go grocery shopping OR vacuum the flat but not both the same day 🙄) and I indulge a lot (doom scrolling, ordering food, etc). The thing that helps for me is keeping a list of tasks/ideas/stuff I want to do but never get the time to when it's busy that I keep on my phone and go through it during these calm months, it consists of "building a new light fixture", "paint a watercolour for the living room", "fix this one cupboard", "read this one book", "try funky makeup", etc.
I feel exactly the same - today has been such a dull day and now it’s pouring with rain and it’s cold😰 I can smell Autumn in the air and it makes me feel so sad and sort of anxious that Summer is almost over and it was so short, with only a few proper sunshine days 😭 Love your vlogs so much, they always cheer me up! 🧡 Ooh, also, do you still have any hair extensions in? I know how I feel when it gets darker so I’m also sad! I have two tape in pieces on the front of my face! Just to take the brunt of the heat styling and constant touching. I wanted a solid frame

Sat here crocheting whilst watching your vlog 😄 I made 200 something granny squares for a blanket, still working on it because I’m still joining them together! 😂 look up the Battenberg blanket by cherry heart (Sandra Paul) it’s made up of small solid granny squares (they’re about 5 x 5cm each) and you can use as many Colors as you want!
You;L have to crochet yourself a hexi cardigan (uses the granny stitch) in preparation for the autumn/winter
How long did 200 take?!!
@@helenanderzI started the project 4th April and had finished 234 mini squares by 15th May… I think each square took about 8 minutes or so to make. But this was something I was picking up in between working, walking the dogs and running around after my feral child 🤣 he starts school next month, so my free time will be spent crocheting and dog walking round our beautiful Norfolk coast 🥰 me time here I come! 🤗
Helen! There’s a petrol clip! I only say this because no one ever told me and then I saw someone use it and just walk away from their car while it filled with petrol. It’s a little metal bit that you click in on the handle of the hose. ❤❤❤

Your vlogs are so fun and your energy gives me energy! I’ve been inspired to gym ‘n’ swim in the mornings and it’s changed my whole brain (in the best way) 😂 thanks for promoting such a balanced lifestyle of health, fitness, fun, food, work and creativity. Bloody legend.
I wish summer away because here in spain is toooooo hot and the kids are off school for 12 LONG ASS WEEKS haha! so its basically 12 weeks of an overstimulated, overheating ADHD mum who needs the routine and kids back in school so yes, i start to wish the weeks away around 3/4 weeks into summer holidays! haha!
I'm a self-employed tour guide and I have AuDHD. I absolutely hate not having anything to do. I don't "like" hanging around and watching stuff. It's what I do when I am overwhelmed and paralised or I hyperfixate on a show but it always leaves me feeling guilt and unfullfilled. Up till June of this year I was always busy, if not for work, I was designing and preparing stuff for my best friend's wedding and once it was over I got so bored and it's been eating me alive. It drives me so mad, that I can feel depression creeping around my feet and the only reason it doesn't reach my head is my meds. Last winter I taught myself to code for 2 months, I did it for 10h a day at times and I miss this feeling so much. Nothing has engaged me like this for months and it makes me feel like I'm watching precious life time run through my fingers. I hate feeling like this.

I gave up with my Parlour Palm, no matter what I did it just wasn’t happy. I watered it, I put it in the right position, I fed it, I even spoke to it..they’re bloody impossible!

Also, keeping indoor plants in the best shape: bottom water them!
Plant care advice: Maybe you're not watering your plants enough, because the soil is *too* dry and it cant soak enough water when you water it with the watering can. Try bottom watering once in a while and see how much it soaks after 1 hour for example.
