- These planeswalkers are pretty strong in Commander, despite this card type usually being weaker overall. Try the ones featured in today's #shorts video out in one of your next decks!

I don’t understand how Oko didn’t immediately jump out to play testers as a busted card.
Agreed. He'd probably still be broken even if the second ability was -1 instead of +1.
Narset parter of veils can also be amazing. Even if you don’t wheel with her (which means an auto win most of the time) she still shuts down a lot of really strong cards. Her -2 also lets you dig for combos/interaction.
I absolutely adore her combined with Teferis puzzle box
She's pretty toxic in casual settings though. My group has a social contract barring her lol.
Wasn't she included in the red white blue Planeswalker heavy pre-constructed deck a few years ago? Along with Sarkhan, the masterless and his:
[+1]: Until end of turn, each planeswalker you control becomes a 4/4 red Dragon creature and gains flying.
@@dif4797 original puzzle box is only six bucks⁉️
@@mantism.d.8363 to each group their own. As long as you don’t wheel with her I don’t think she’s too bad, but I can see how some people would consider her unfun, especially in a deck with tons of protection
Doesn't Ashiok stop fetch lands too?
Indeed they do!
A fetchland is a tutor
Man who’d have thought oko was good.
He has a +1 that shuts off effects, that should definitely be a Minus effect 🤣
I saw it the moment they revealed the card. For the cost of Beast Within (at sorcery speed), you have the same effect... as repeatable removal. The fact that he gets fatter as things progress is what makes it so nasty because he is almost always a 2 for one when you play him.
Oko & Narset are on the salt list. Usually when you slap these on the table, they’re getting killed on sight. They’re definitely powerful but also put a target on your back if thats your playstyle.
@@sethkappaccilli9509 Oko turns off any threatning ability & commanders and they’re whole strategy revolves around them sometimes so it can be difficult to play around sometimes depending on which deck it is. If the person playing Oko has blockers then its really hard to get damage thru with a bunch of 3/3 elks man 🤣
@@sethkappaccilli9509 be glad that he is banned in so many formats, otherwise he'd be far more expensive
@@katiequeen7225 Isn't he banned in everything?
@@24105252 he’s still legal in commander & vintage. Banned everywhere else
I play a Windgrace deck in 8 power, and he's similar on that scale
Please move the cards up so they can actually be read. The other text blocks them from being read.
Oh, is Oko a strong card? I thought it was pretty weak, I mean food is a pretty niche archetype after all.
Broke modern, standard, pioneer, and legacy, and still strong in cedh. Gross paired with basic interaction.
I presume this is a /s moment
Ah yes, Oko the Trickster, Commander staple
I still see Witch's Oven and Cauldron's familiar everyday on arena
Surprised Teferi Master of Time wasn't number 1. Is a must deal with threat due to his ultimate and any synergies with looting just make him absurdly good.
I love Chandra Awakened Inferno, I have it in a deck with a Worldfire in it.
Teferi Master of time is one of the best in my opinion
He's definitely in our top 10, maybe higher
He is problematic.
There is a reason he doesn’t see play in CEDH offtenly.
He basically makes you responsible for everything what will happen at instant speed. And can easily win a game for an opponent if played incorrectly.
Please don’t forget what this is a multiplayer format.
I hope we see Ashiok involved in the phyrexian plot line.
Ashiok just makes my umrbis deck feel so good
Lord Windgrace is an absolute VALUE HOUSE. Had a friend with a Windgrace deck that went crazy saccing lands and bringing them back with Windgrace and Worldshaper, generating insane mana and drawing scores of cards.
Windgrace was my first deck can't tell you how many times I've went crazy with him lol. He's so much fun because he can play landfall or turbo
Not top 5 but I like the Dakkon Planeswalker, the one that enters with loyalty based on your lands, +1 surveil 2, -3 exile target creature, -6 put an artifact from your hand or graveyard into play, it’s starting to feel like a pet card cause I never see it.
It's very good, but the color restriction makes it niche, and the starting loyalty is inconsistent. Thus undervalued. How many three-color walkers do you see ever?
Elk-sha, who smiles at Elks.
Is that THE Dack Fayden? The Greatest Thief in the Multiverse?!
Just so you know if you are able to get Dak Fayden's emblem you can steal all creatures for one mana total and your opponents can only stop it from happening if the creatures are already un-targetable before you cast the spell because if it hits the stack and is able to target the creature it doesn't matter if they counter it or make the creatures untargetable after or in response it will still trigger the emblem.
Lol love how the first one is band in all formats
Garruk is awesome :)
I'm convinced Oko was a last minute typo, and his second ability was supposed to be -1 instead of +1. That wouldn've made him powerful but manageable.
Remember if you go first and on turn 3 you play ashiok the other 3 green players at the table will grab a knife after you shut down their ramp. That grudge will not go away until the next 3 games
Honourable mention: Tezzeret the Seeker? Can neg 4 for pod or panharmonicon, or even neg 0 for lands and untapped rocks like crazy
What about the garruck with the big draw effect
Don’t forget Sorin Markov! Deleting 75% of an opponents health with one card never felt so good
Windfall/Wheel of Fortune + Narset, Parter of Veils is a great way to ensure that no one ever plays commander with you again
Seeing Oko first immediately stressed me out and made me pause. So dang broken. If my friend plays it again, we're going to have to introduce a house rule in our circle for it.
Isn’t Garruk, Unleashed better than Garruk Wildspeaker?
I’m a big fan of Mordenkainen, a planeswalker I do not see often.
In a wheels deck, I may also recommend Narset
Oko is ABSOLUTLY insane in muldrotha… Not even joking here
You missed my boy. Tvesh Szat!
Xenagos, the reveler's +1 is just gaea's cradle
Sorin Markov feels good when you insta drop someone to 10 hp
Teferi, Time Raveler is very funny too. Great little stax piece.
You wouldn't think he's funny if you played standard with him💀. But yeah he seems good in commander as well
@@marihasoshell1730 playing standard with him was great. Against not so much.
I have oko in one of my decks and he’s good but he gets a lot of attention. Even if there is something way more obvious to kill or attack people think “banned in modern” and promptly kill him.
People taking opportunity to refer to Oko being broken and rightly so, but I wanna take this opportunity to complain about how Narset isn't banned from Constructed.
I made an incredibly fun and OP deck with Tevesh Szat but nobody wants to play with me anymore😢
I’m sorry if saheeli, the gifted is busted. I played a game last night and turn 4 reduced my time stretch by 8 mana and played it.
Except, for most decks, the first thing you cut out is the planeswalkers. They take time to set up and easily get beaten out of the game. Unless its super-friends or your commander, they gotta go 9/10
I win games with tezzeret betrayer of Flesh
Master of the Bridge has a +2 that's (basically) the same as the -4 ult from Agent of Bolas, and damn is it good.
Dreadhorde General is problem in the decks that want her.
Good card, not broken though imo
@@arsenalfanrichi She's not broken, but it's one of the few ultimates that can just end a 4 player game. Dropping her after someone board wipes is good, or when the board is super clogged up, as zombie decks tend to do. Even worst case scenario, paying 6 to make everyone sac 2 creatures and possibly draw 2 cards is still pretty good value.
@@mantism.d.8363 Yeah, I agree. Nice flavorful way to win as well
My windgrace deck is my baby
Oh man oko. Never would have thought to use oko. Anyone else anywhere ever tried oko before? 😂😂
Any Teferis?
But planeswalkers don't count as creatures or am I wrong?
Isn't Oko banned in most formats?
Crucible of worlds is busted in windgrace...
Narset and teferi? Those 2 see cedh play
Kitty planeswalker best planeswalker
Git lit son *dab*
Ah yes i was that guy playing 4 goose 4 okos back before got banned in standard. The amount of times i played goose turn 2 oko was auto win. Nobody wanted to play after that. Paper and Arena. Yes I'm not fun at parties.
My Windgrace uses Obliterate.
Sorry in advance.
I thought Oko was banned, but I guess not in Commander.
He is perfectly legal in vintage and commander
@@katiequeen7225 Right, I looked him up. I just remember when I pulled a borderless copy of him and they said he was on the banlist. I just assumed it was for every format. Hm, maybe I'll make a deck with him now.
Is this a guide about: how to lose friends fast?
Isn't that commander in general though?
Guarantee that playing planeswalkers in commander is not even close to the most degenerate things you can do.
I mean playing oko does
@@dustfinger_until_dawn in standard/modern etc sure. In commander Oko is actually a rather low-medium power threat, mostly because it can only target one permanent at a time. It’s more like sorcery speed non destruction removal with the opportunity to gain more value over time if it survives, which is not guaranteed at all. It has an advantage in this regard, because it is comparatively somewhat innocuous vs. the typical things being played at your higher power table, so it might not immediately be destroyed. The extra 2 players make the difference between it being a powerhouse control piece and non-destruction sorcery speed removal.
I mean i see your point but even if you only get him for one turn, you can still turn a commander, if it's a creature, or the strongest artefact off, even if oko leaves so not like any other enchantments that do similar things
In power. I think Oko's kinda mid, but he's cute ngl.
Isn't oko banned?
@@sethkappaccilli9509 he is banned in every format but commander and vintage
Isn't oko banned in commander... Wtf
Wait oko is legal?
Yep
Almost the only format where he is
@@caseywellington4761 lol 😂 Would be too much to just pretend he doesn't exist and ban him from everything I guess
If you like your friends...don't play Oko
I thought oko was banned
Commander doesn't ban broken cards, only Johnny cards.
Gair UCK
?????
ok
Quit being lazy with the shorts 🤣 ... 2 days a week is fine, now you're just abusing it lol
lol
lit...
Oko is just a beast within for much more money dont kid yourself
Isnt oko banned?
So glad y’all are using ashioks preferred pronouns!
@@sethkappaccilli9509 yeah Ashiok literally is just a genderless nightmare. Same concept as aetherborn
@@sethkappaccilli9509 They/Them is canon, But ashiok is not just mist. They are some kind of nightmare mage i think? more then mist that's for sure.
@@everythingcoveredff890 I guess that would make Ashiok a Mister
I hate every single one of these....
