    Watching your earlier vlog you inspired me to come off my pill after 10 years to see how my body would react. I have a daughter so the reason isn’t to get pregnant. I have been out of the loop for so long as I never had a period on Cerazette and I didn’t even know that menstrual cups or period pants existed!!! I’m still waiting on my first period but you have provided great information and reassurance around alternatives during our period so thank you!!!

Realising that I was shepherded onto it for so long and for what? No real reason for me personally, so it’s nice being free 😊💕 any questions just ask away!xax

    Love this video! I would say Modibodi’s have been amazing for me, however after just 2 cycles the waistband detached from the knickers. That was obviously really disappointing at £20 a pair & Modibodi were really reluctant to give me a refund/send a replacement as the warranty on them is only 6 months. Just thought it was worth noting-great pants not so great customer service.

    • @xameliaxYoutube
      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety +1

      This is such a shame - would they still not be in warranty after 2 months? I've been using mine for about 6-7 months now and they're still all as good as new so I wonder if you did just get a bad pair - they should sort that xax

    I chose thinx because I love their mission I know that they work well, they are a local brand for me, they are the original creators of period panties and they are always listening to what their customers are asking for! Definitely try to support the original inventors of the product if you can afford it! They are a wonderful company.

    Highly recommend combining period pants with menstrual cups. I was a bit sceptical regards the cup as I hate tampons as I can never get it to sit right and I'm really petite so thought the cup looked huge. But I tried the organicup mini and it's life changing on my 6th month of using it and would never go back!

      I really want to try menstrual cups but how does that work for public bathrooms and the mess etc? Toilets at my work have separate sinks etc at the other side of the bathroom and then a row of toilets. Just wondering on how I’d go about cleaning the cup and my hands during the process of taking it out etc

Was just looking at the Sainsbury's ones from your video and thought I'd look on m&s just incase. They sell some for £12 and have got buy 3 got a 4th free at the moment! Not sure what they'll be like but fingers crossed :)

      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety +1

      You're very welcome lovely :) I've heard mixed reviews about the M&S ones and how well they last so do let us know! I also couldn't find their actual absorbency on the website anywhere which is always a bit of a worry - especially for those with a heavier flow because just saying 'high absorbency' isn't overly helpful! Hopefully they'll be able to be more specific for customers moving forward - it's fab to see so many brands hopping on the period pants train! They're a game changer :) xax

    I’m a menstrual cup user and I love it, recently changed my Supper Jenny cup ( which I had for few years and it’s pretty stained) to Organi Cup and I think I like it even more!! I’d never change cups for anything they are simply the best invention for women ever 😄 I got two pairs of period pants which were on discount for key workers ( during covid) to try but I can’t remember what brand they were and there is no labels on them. I use them before I come on my period and at the very end . However with only two pairs it’s not enough as my period is not regular to exact same day 3-4 days vary from cycle to cycle therefore I’d like to have more. The price tho it’s scary !

    Great video, I do want to make a change and the cup is not for me as uncomfortable using tampons. Be interested to see what you think about reusable pads. For more affordable options there is The Bamboo House and Cheeky Wipes. Unfortunately there are very few vegan choices in the modibody range.

    • @xameliaxYoutube
      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety

      Cheeky wipes don’t offer a high absorbency option - they are made (according to their website), for day 3-4 of your period so wouldn’t be suitable on their own for most people. I couldn’t find the ml they hold on their website (unless I missed it) so I wasn’t confident with those. The bamboo house are new so they only have one style at the moment and don’t seem to offer varying levels of protection - just one style and one absorbency - but I’m sure they’ll expand over time! 🙂
      Moodbodi do a full brief, a boy short, a bikini brief, a detachable brief, a swimming costume and a swimwear bikini bottom in their vegan range currently! These also come in various absorbencies - so that’s pretty good for choice and they’re expanding all the time which is awesome 👏🏻 xax

    I tried all but the thinx cause the shipping is so ridiculously expensive...I found the modibodi and wuka had a very strange smell to begin with that took multiple washes to get out. Love luna are so comfy, cheap, not too thick, perfect for light days. Wuka feels a bit like a nappy and they are so tight they make me feel like a sausage...modibodi are super soft and comfy

    • @xameliaxYoutube
      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety

      How strange - neither Wuka or ModiBodi smelt for me at all and I’ve got loads of ModiBodi now. I don’t really find the heavy Loveluna comfortable, they’re pretty scratchy in comparison to the ModiBodi and Thinx pairs but they’re definitely an affordable option for those wanting to try free bleeding. it’s so interesting to hear everyone’s experiences 😊xax

    • @eve12171
      @eve12171 Před 3 lety

      @@xameliaxCZcams I've ordered a few more modibodi so I'll see if it was a one off with the smell, hopefully that is the case because otherwise they're great and the smell did fade eventually. To be fair I've only tried the moderate love luna, but it's useful to know the heavy ones aren't as good

      Bree Hansen don’t get the bonds ones!! I bought like 4 pairs of them because I like how they fit but after I washed them as per the instructions the absorbent part has bunched up and lost it’s shape, seriously within 1 or 2 washes these underwear have gone so weird and hideous

I have some wuka pants and agree with what you said about that style, but I find their other style (with the wuka patterned elastic) are so much softer and fit me a lot better! Does anyone know of a brand that has a longer padding or that the waterproof bit goes all the way front to back. I was looking at the wuka site and it appears they have some with the waterproofing front to back but can't be sure. Anyone any suggestions?

      I haven’t come across any with it right up to waistband at the front as well as the back. But the heavy overnight ones from thinx Wuka and modibodi go pretty far up x

    Does Modi bodi have coverage in the back ? I love Knix but when I sleep the blood runs to the back and there is no coverage.

      Yep - the overnight ones go all the way up to the waistband - you can see it in the video when I turn around 🥰xax

    I should be starting my period again tomorrow, and a few weeks ago I got period panties from Love Luna, and I haven't got the chance to test whether they stop leaks 100%. I have exams and I'm terrified in case I start anywhere during exams. And I'm not sure how often to wash them and how often to wear them ect.
    Thank you!

      I’ve got two more videos in this playlist that will help you - how many pairs of period pants you need, and how to wash them! Hopefully they’ll help you 😊 good luck in your exams - the love Luna pairs I’ve had have worked really well so you won’t have any leaks during the exam. Don’t worry!xax

      I believe they only hold up to 2 tampons worth so wouldn't be as absorbent as these xax

    New subscriber here. Loving this video so much.
    Would love to see a video about washing them and also just wondering if the size chart was true to measurements for you? Did your measurements compare to the size on the chart? I hope that makes sense and I hope you see this 🙂

      Aw thank you! Yes i found them true to size apart from Wuka as you can see - very small. But the rest I was between sizes and went for the smaller and it was fine xax

    This is great. Do you have any advice for period pants for girls? I got my period when I was 11 and my daughter is 11 and has been getting cramps at the times I get one. I want to be prepared.

    I just purchased Modibodi, but they are just so tight, and not comfortable at all. Feel so disappointed after using the size guide and comparing myself to the models on the website. Would recommend others to size up, and only buy one pair the first time, so you can you the 60-day risk-free trail. But thank you for making this video anyways 🌸

    Hello after watching this video I went and brought some love luna. I have a question do you change the knickers in the day or do they usual last all day and just change before bed. Please help im super scared to wear these and need some advice before it comes.

    • @xameliaxYoutube
      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety

      Hi amberley, it really does depend on your flow - how much do you bleed in a day? Did you buy the heavy love Luna or the light love Luna? You’ll need to calculate how much you bleed and have a think about how many pairs of period pants you think you will go through - but I can’t 100% help until you let me know which absorbency you bought and how heavy your flow is 💕

    • @monkeyads123
      @monkeyads123 Před 3 lety

      @@xameliaxCZcams hey thanks for replying. I brought the heavy flow and a light one. I normally wear tampons and on my heaviest day I would wear the max tampons and change it 2 times in the day. Whereas the pants say 3-4 regular tampons. Thanks for your help 🙂

    • @xameliaxYoutube
      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety +1

      So a regular tampon holds around 9ml which means the heavy pants will hold up to 36ml. A maxi tampon is around 18ml, so the heavy pants can hold about two of those which means the heavy pair could last you all day. Of course they are all just averages and you'll need to change/protect things over night and have a fresh pair to wear the next day x

    • @xameliaxYoutube
      @xameliaxYoutube  Před 3 lety +1

      It says on the website lovely- for thinx, their heavy flow is over 1 cup, so 35ml and ModiBodi I think is around 30ml. Just go to the flow you want to buy and it says in the information for each product what the equivalent is in tampons/cups/mls. SOLVED 😊💕xax

    A con to list for Thinx...they are NOT truly size-inclusive. I wear a 3X in most items of clothing (underwear, jeans, etc.), and I couldn’t even get the Thinx 3X past my thighs. I had to go to Modibodi, but I’m glad I did because I love them. I just wish they had some prettier options. They’re getting there, but most of the “curvy” styles are just plain black or beige.
