It would be interesting to know the actual demographics of those individuals most affected by the inappropriate actions of the manipulating Dr. 🧐

Let me guess the list was manipulated because of ability to pay?......

My first guess was they are in a Christian cult and discriminating against whoever their group tells them is immoral.

Nope, he did my daughter's kidney transplant and follow up repair when she had complications and she is a Medicare patient.

@@Denvermorgan2000 having experience with this team I do know they are protective of these organs and go through a rigorous screening to find the best organ for the best recipient. They don't just dish them out like candy from a candy bowl. Recipients have to show compliance with pre transplant treatments. They have to make most of their appointments, take the medications correctly, be proactive in their care team and have a support team at home. These doctors want these organs to last as long as possible since there are so few donors out there and these organs aren't infinite or even cures. Recipients have to prove they will appreciate and care for these precious gifts and not waste them by not following the strenuous regimen it takes to not go into rejection.

Do no harm? He's likely killed people awaiting livers. We really dont need to hear from people with premium health insurance who were treated by him.

@@pasques he doesn't make that judgment, the patient decides that by complying or not complying.

Glory to Jesus for protecting me!! I always wondered why my transplant paperwork and bloodwork was pushed to the side when trying to get a transplant at Memorial my coordinator kept giving me the runaround . Memorial ought to be ASHAMED of themself for brining up his "achievements". Tell that to the millions looking for a transplant! 100% uncredible doctor who needs jail time for playing with transplant patients this way.

Using someone who had a private familial donor isn't the best example- we need someone who had a non private donor who was waitlisted and eventually got it.
Its not uncommon to profile people based on age, health status, and reason for needing transplant- as a society we have agreed that a 20 year old with minimal health issues and a high likelihood of survival who through no fault of their own got sick and needed transplant or he will die is a different level of urgency then the guy in his 50's who drank himself out if a liver and has refused to get help and can live another 10 years before needing one. Its not that the 50 year olds life is less important, its about quantifying morality in a way that is fair. The problem is we are also a society of people who believe in grace; and most cases aren't that black and white; they will occur somewhere on that continuum. And unless you have some kind of numerical scoring system that is point based (+ 30 points if you are under age of 25, +20 if under age of 40, +30 if its not your fault, + 20 if its your fault but you have at least 1 years clean, +30 if you have no health issues likely to cause dudden death ) etc. And follow it TO A T, its hard to eliminate our own biases. If its not totally void of internalized bias you cant guarantee peoples perceptions arent being influenced.
This is tough because as a general rule transplant hospitals do profile people and it perfectly legal; I have a friend who couldn't get on list till she was clean off drugs and lost 100 lbs. They do it for good reason- theres more recipients then donors and you don't want to give one to one patient who will destroy it when you have patients on list who will be saved and be good stewards of it. That being said... when you systemically see an issue with certain groups or diagnosis being given a certain amount of grace and getting put on while others didn't, you have now moved beyond just trying to be responsible. I remember my friend talking about the trauma of her life being judged and having a value put on it. I'm actually really interested to see how this plays out. I'm grieving for the families who are hearing this after their loved ones passed waiting.
