    Me being half south African and half German,My mom a south African and my dad a German....
    Me who was born in south Africa,Cape town and lived their for 11 years,grew up in a coloured house hold and can speak 20% Afrikaans and 100% English also 80-90% German ,and knows all south African foods and snacks including Billtong and Droeiworse. And moved to Germany age 11, in 2018.
    Me being thirteen and lives in Germany the capital city, Berlin and has been living here for 2 years.
    And me seeing this girl,is quite embarrassing for our nation and now the rest of the world thinks south Africa is weird just because of this video.... Wow....
    Me not forgetting where I come from and where I grew up! Still PROUDLY A SOUTH AFRICAN!💝

      Koek is Afrikaans for cake, that's the one with icing on top, for the people that don't know, some people use it in other forms if they want to be rude. Marmite instructions are clear, spread thin ie just a hint, not see how much you can get on the bread

    The founder of the Cape was not Portuguese his name was Jan Van Riebeek. The Portuguese guy was Vasco Da Gama and he was Portuguese, and the place he landed at was in the east of South Africa and he called it Natal which means Christmas in Portuguese and he named it that because he landed there during Christmas.

    English isn't even a 1st / home language to most of the population (its actually 4th on the list), but many South Africans do speak English, either as a 2nd or 3rd language.
    In order of Highest to lowest speakers (1st language), the 11 official languages of South Africa are
    Zulu (22.7%)
    Xhosa (16%)
    Afrikaans (13.5%)
    English (9.6%)
    Northern Sotho / Sepedi (9.1%)
    Tswana (8%)
    Sesotho (7.6%)
    Tsonga (4.5%)
    Swati (2.5%)
    Venda (2.4%)
    Ndebele (2.1%)
    1.6 % of the population speak other languages such as dutch, french, portugese, german etc. and 0.5 % of People use South African Sign Language as a first language

      Dana Jollivet and vetkoek etc!! I was kinda disappointed because they didn't do the stuff that's actually South African! Marmite is European! I never have coconut on koeksisters! Samoosas are Indian, pies aren't very very popular where I live and if we do have them it's from a company called King Pie! They didn't have my faves like malva pudding, hersoggies (I might be wrong spelling that!), boerewors, peppermint crisp, Cadbury Lunchbar, Simba tomato sauce flavoured potato chips, vetkoek, curry bunnies, etc... 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

      People PILE it on. A true South African knows how to work those ratios!
      Toast, butter, and a SMALL amount of Marmite goes a long way. Then you get that amazing hint of saltiness, etc. Tsk. People need to be taught the way.

    Koeksisters is cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, lots of spices.... in all south african food we use a lot of spice... there is a huge Portuguese, Indian and European influence
