Saying that I love this song is an understatement.
I can feel the emotion in every note. A musical masterpiece. The words are like poetry, and the tune is irresistible. I find myself singing along every time. It's an uplifting anthem. 👏

This song dropped during my most recent relapse on alcohol and the lyrics hit me in a very different way. I spent most of the day kind of crying over how relatable the lyrics were even though they have a different meaning to me.

Day six of sobriety.
Alcohol is the worst. The only drug that can kill you from withdrawal, yet it's sold next to the Mountain Dew and Pepsi. I hope the next week goes 5 times better than your first week. You got this. I've been clean off prescription pain killers since 2007. I remember seeing an old friend at the gas station in 2011 and inside the gas station she says, "Come over to my car for a second when you're done." So I do and we chat for a minute about old friends I don't talk to anymore (because I'm no longer doing drugs) and she says "Here's a gifts for not seeing ya in a few years." She drops a handful, literally like 15 blue Vicodin in my hand. The good ones too. The 10's (strong than the 7.5 Vicodin ES).
Without a thought of even being tempted I said, "Nah I appreciate ya but I'm good. I quit years ago." She apologized and congratulated me. After that encounter was over and I was driving home I thought to myself how proud I was of not just saying no, but because it didn't even fuck with me afterwards. I had changed my life around so much to the point where I KNEW if I went back to that life I'd be dead or just extremely miserable & unhappy. I didn't want that anymore.
I hope you also get to that point where you've had years sober and it won't even bother you to see alcohol and be tempted. Best of luck Jordan. 😎🤝🏻
