What is this musical about?
It's described as a song cycle about "love, death, and whiskey." It follows the tale of four people in four main stories in four different times whose lives all intertwine, all told at the same time. It's supposed to be reminiscent of telling ghost stories around a fire.
Because of the way it's performed, the creators recommend not trying to discern the plot on your first listen-through and just focus on the emotional journey, and only start trying to unravel everything on subsequent listens.
It's really super unique in story, orchestration, and the musician-actors who wrote and performed it. I think it's super cool.
