I have loved Dylan since childhood and rarely do I feel like a cover does his work justice, but I am pleasantly surprised by this. Never got into the IGs, but my first exposure set me up for a DEEP DIVE into their catalogue! Anyone who shows reverence for the God himself gets an automatic hell yes from me. Thanks for sharing this!
Can someone tell me why I got a notification of Mr. Sapienza's angry response to Zombie Land's unfair dis of The Indigo Girls? I've never been randomly notified of unrelated rage before. Now, if I'd been the one to contribute that crude and juvenile remark, I'd understand completely... And Mr. Sapienza, try not to get riled up at random hate freaks. The internet runs mostly on hate and porn, it seems. You'll work yourself into an early grave if you take all dorks seriously.
She hasn't lost her voice. Perhaps a bad voice night that night. Compare it to how Joni Mitchell or Emmylou Harris sound now, her voice is pretty much as pure as it was back in the 90s. Probably because she doesn't smoke -- that kills singing voices.
@@IndigoJo Typically, sopranos lose their voices earlier in life. You can check out many recent CZcams recordings and her voice is a pretty constant vibrato now. Joni did ruin her voice smoking but she is 20 years older than Emily Saliers.
@@IndigoJo I wasn't saying that Joni didn't lose her voice earlier. She was a very, very heavy smoker so to be expected. That doesn't change the fact that Emily's voice has declined a lot over the years. The Indigo.Girls latest album is a clear indication of how limited her range is now. The songs they are recording these days are those that work with her reduced vocal capability. It happens. She clearly strains to hit high notes in live concerts - almost to the point of pain. Her guitar playing is still as awesome as ever, actually even more so.
I can't even listen to Dylan's version anymore. One of the best tracks of 1200 Curfews live album.
Shame on you. He’s the GOAT.

I'm surprised that Emily was losing her voice even back then.
Not even close....silly statement

@@pmangum6879 Joni's voice was already gone in the 80s when she in her 40s, the same age Emily is here.
