LOL. Best time of the year to NOT be a highway cop! We always left a light on and the coffe pot on the ready for our friends who patrolled to keep us safe. There were no places open after 8 PM in our rural community, so finding someplace where they could warm up at 2 am with great coffee and homemade good food was scarce. We considered it a privilege to provide them with that respite. Remember those who serve!
I love Bear. He just craves adult conversation at times.
I don't blame him Bear is a loyal good protector /guard dog and he is outside a lot. He deserves attention

Copper wants to meet his babies :) They are so cute! I am always amazed how quickly they become sure-footed and playful, mostly independent from mom except for feeding.

Looks like a good supply of firewood. Really what matters is that there is plenty of firewood close at hand and you won’t have to go far to get it. Stay safe warm and may the animals be cozy and warm.

Stacking wood for fireplaces usually is to be stacked with the bark up so rain will drain off n snow too if possible.

You need to square off your ends on the wood pile so you can stack higher. They do have electric heaters for water tubs.

Here in Pensacola we will have next Friday a low of 26 and a high of 38, not good for us, we are just not equipped for cold weather. It will only last for us about 2 days. You guys have that white stuff to contend with. Try to stay warm. Hope Weston is doing well.

Love watching you all! Mom of a once high school wrestler, my son is now 25 and he still says the life lessons he learned from wrestling he still uses them. It is a wonderful sport. My Nic was a featherweight at 70# and was only 90# his freshman year.
14:53 tip on your splitter. After your animals finish off a mineral tub. After the Eng. cools cover it with a mineral tub it will extend the life of the plastic parts and keeps it out of the elements. Love the videos!

Whoa that log splitter is a total game changer when cutting wood! It saves hours and hours of back breaking work. Then all you have to do is haul it and stack it. That's a really nice piece of equipment. God's blessings and Merry Christmas!
Ya know Daniel, long before all this fancy equipment, my dad & brother built a wood splitter from materials around the farm. As a girl, I remember Dad and Jim (brother) taking turns using it on the big pieces of wood. We girls would pick up smaller lengths and stack them into cords at the wood lot. All of us would help stack wood by the family room fireplace wood box that Dad had built into the wall.
I always enjoyed cutting and stacking wood with family.

For us here in Nebraska we prep for this and know it can happen. Tank heaters are in place, I hang carpet scraps over doorways of sheds to block wind but allow entry and exit etc. They're talking negative air temps here. However, my big challenge is keeping a garden hose thawed when trying to fill water. You guys don't normally have to build for this, I feel like our water lines need to be about 2-3X deeper. A cold snap like this would definitely hit you guys harder.
We're forecast only to have a single day of single digit weather, but that'll be liable to change. I'm not ready for it either! I'm so glad Spot is letting the black doe tend to her little buck. Goose has gotten so big! I remember when Houston hatched him! I'm so glad you have plenty of hay for the animals! They all look great! I remember the problem you had with the Vanguard motor on the splitter last year. I vaguely remember it having a problem with where the exhaust was coming out. Didn't you turn the motor or something? I hope the new gas cap will fix the latest problem! It sure makes quick work of splitting firewood! I hope you have enough for a little bit at least! Stay warm and take care!
Here in Ill we are in the teens and next week single temps. Don't worry about your wood as long as it's how it works for you then that's what counts. I am with you on this cold!! Don't want it but every year we'll it's here!! At least we aren't getting the blizzards yet!!!

Need bubblers for water tubs. You could just use battery operated air for fish will move so won’t freeze. Thales the gas cap drill small hole in the center of it
Now did you get the big backpack leaf blower I think you need something to suck up all the leaves and make a nice compost pile out of it for your garden a nice leaf vacuum would be great because when that vacuum sucks up the leaves and spits it out at mulchers it down so it makes a great compost

We have quite a bit of snow in Michigan already. The temperatures are really suppose to drop next week. Wood is the best heat.
Been taking my knephews hunting since they've been old enough. Trying everything possible to pass on the hunting way of life. Also grew up on a small farm. 14 horses., 6 goats, 4 pigs chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, we had 2 calfs once. And also had guineas .love you guys keep up the great videos
Great wood stacking there, nothing wrong with it from what I can see, we used to use a wood stove all winter, had tons of firewood stacked. We used ours to the point of never having to turn on the electric baseboard heat ( that was up in the cold country). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone, love all the animals.

They are calling for that here in TN too. Lows down to 5*. Now it’s putting a damper on spending Christmas with my family. They say we are going to have snow before the single digits hit. We use to rake up the leaves and use them in the barn and pens for the animals to use to sleep on instead of them using the hay. I grew up stacking wood because Dad cut wood and sold it for extra cash. Now this was back in the late 60’sand early 70’s. It’s amazing how easy things are now. ♥️❤️🥰♥️❤️

Understand the gasoline down the throat. I've had people ask if I can work on cars after I tell them to check something on their's because I heard something. My reply is "I owned a Vega." The first thing my Dad and I had to do was rebuild it. He was up top and I was underneath it . Fuel line on my end was off. He goes " I'm going to blow the line" and I'm glad I have quick reflexes. I scoot out from under the car with my eyes close, face covered in gas, asking Dad to get me to the sink he has outside. Didn't get it in my eyes but did down the throat. Dad was very apologetic.
Hope Issac is doing well since he came back home. Haven't seen him at all in the videos. Glad that spot is letting the real mom be a mom to the baby goat.
