I remember reading that you can’t even take the organs out of a corpse to save someone’s life if they haven’t signed a donor authorization. Like, I already knew that fact, but never realized until that point that corpses had more protection and respect than half of the population. Women are really seen as subhumans to too much people.

You also can’t force a person to donate blood. An adult with O- blood can decline to donate in a shortage (and there’s always a shortage, blood doesn’t last long) because they’re scared of needles. A 12 year old can’t refuse to carry a high-risk pregnancy from someone who assaulted them.

Years ago I counseled a 12 year old who was raped by her uncle. She didn’t know she could get pregnant. She didn’t realize it until she was 5 months pregnant. This is not uncommon for children who were assaulted. They are terrified to tell anyone and often don’t get help right away.

As children we are brainwashed and abused so bad about what WILL happen IF we tell. I told a Teacher in the 6th grade. She made it her business to call my Father and drive me home after school. I walked in the door and there he was with his belt sitting in a chair facing the door. In our home of 6 kids we had accidents. An employee would come and farm us out to poor relatives who kept their mouths shut in exchange for monatary gain. Usually until the crisis was over and whoever was home from the hospital. Money gives power which talks and obvioualy everyone is for sale. It was just another accident and I'm lucky my father could afford such good insurance. After all, I didn't turn out so bad or so they tell me.

The child to understand that what had happened to them was not okay, 3. The child to be brave enough to want to tell someone about this "shameful" thing 4. The child to actually tell an adult, 5. The adult to actually believe it, 6. That adult actually going to the police/doctor, 7. Police/doctors willing to actually do their job properly.

Yes, a 10-year-old can get pregnant and give birth, though likely by C-section, as her hips won’t have fully developed. The youngest person to gestate a live newborn hadn’t turned 6 yet. She had precocious puberty, in a remote, rural region of the Andes where puberty blockers weren’t available. Yes, the same puberty blockers Republicans want to forbid for children. I’ve tried hard to find the stats on “tween-age (age 10-12)” pregnancies in America, but all I can find is that about 1 in 5000 girls between ages 10 and 14 gets pregnant in any given year. As there are over 10 million 10 to 14 year old girls in America right now, that translates into over 2000 pregnancies a year in this age group, all of which are certainly, bare minimum, a result of woefully inadequate parental supervision, and likely often a result of outright illicit behavior by adults or those within a couple years of majority. 🤢

All of my female friends were SA’d before the age of 14. “1 in 4” is a guess based on how many people actually report SA-it’s much higher. I’d go so far as to say that 3 in 4 females can expect to be SA’d at some point in her life and yes many of us experience it for the first time when we are children. We should not be talking about “if” a child gets SA’d, we should talk about WHEN a child gets SA’d because it WILL happen and it IS happening. The youngest girl to give birth was 5 years old after being SA’d by her father and she was 4 when she was impregnated. Her name was Lina Marcela Medina de Jurado. She was a victim of precocious puberty but with the age of first menses getting lower and lower, we are going to be seeing a LOT more pregnant children. Forcing a child to give birth is despicable.
