He was 9 when Boomerang was released.
Some of the songs on this album were written and recorded several years before that ... though ... That is why they said he was 6 ...

Me too. Spent $315 bucks for it and MMMBOP on cd. Not ashamed to have spent it and I’ll never be embarrassed to be a diehard Hanson fan.

They wrote better stuff as young kids than a lot of "artists" do as adults these days. :) And their vocals, always great.
They're so talented but very very underrated...
When I was a kid, this album had just come out in Oklahoma, and Hanson came to our school and performed. It was actually pretty awesome!! Two years later MMMBop was hitting the airwaves!

They performed at my elementary school in 1995. I saw them perform at KFOR and Crossroads Mall as well. Their harmonies and songwriting are spectacular. Wise beyond their years even as kids.

Even for an indie garage pre-fame album is pretty good... I downloaded this around 10 years ago and it was a nice surprise tbh
I'm first hearing this in 2022. I've tried to track it down for years but until today I never thought of finding it on CZcams. These lyrics and rhythms are brilliant, as are the harmonies.
I used to have a tape with this album on it and I have no clue what happened to it. So glad the internet came through for me! haha

I love Hanson and have been a fan since June 1997. This early recording (which is new to me) shows how beautiful their harmonies always were. Especially liked the original version of their pretty piano ballad "More Than Anything" which I had only ever heard as a concert recording before.

Lonely Boy is another somber tune. It really makes you feel bad for all the times you’ve unfairly judged people.
I’m back 3 years later. My car got stolen and it had Boomerang in the glove box. Devastated! I hope I can find it again

This boomerang album you all have voices very similar to the Jacksons. Taylor your voice really sounds a lot like Michaels! Did you all ever reconsider redoing this album and updating it a little? I think it would do good.
I’m hoping they eventually do a new version of this album as adults. I’d love to hear this version and then a new one with their adult voices.

Unless you purchased it online, you would have had to be present at one of their early gigs to purchase this album. It and their first album MMMBOP were only available at live shows. And possibly at a few local shops in the area where they lived. Not sure though.

Well Isaac was already 14 at the time. He probaly hit puberty, that's beacuse he sounded like a woman (just my opinion). And yes. Ike's voice is so wonderful ;)

I love how Don't Accuse was like an anti-bullying song and then a couple years later Weird and Yearbook came out. I always wonder if they had a really close friend that was horribly bullied... is he Johnny? and did he commit suicide because of it? I have always gotten that vibe... always but they don't really talk about it because they want people to feel whatever they personally feel with the songs.

I thought about 2 hypothesis : he committed suicide or has been kidnapped. It's very dark (I know) but the Hanson brothers were very smart and mature although their very young age...
Taylor was sort of bullied when he was younger I read about it from an interview they did
I think they all were at least a little bullied. Look at what Taylor went through when Middle Of Nowhere came out, he was bullied publicly the most, so we know for sure he was bullied the most at that time, but not much about before that.... I was bullied a lot but I never let it bother me. I always figured that the people bullying me didn't know me well enough to judge so I always ignored it. It happen everyday but ignoring it made me stronger. So I can relate very much to the anti bullying notions.
Why they don’t rerelease this is beyond me. I’d pay to have this and the mmmbop albums

I can tell when Ike is singing, but I honestly can't tell the difference between Taylor and Zac. Did Zac lead in any of these songs? Can anyone tell?
ahmunmun725 I think that Zac was too little for sing as lead. He probably sang the back chores 😊
Did he sing The Love You Save maybe? You're right, it's hard to tell. Can't tell if that voice sounds "younger" than other songs that Taylor sang.

I think he sang backing vocals. If you listen closely, sometimes when Taylor and Ike are singing you’ll hear this sweet little voice sandwiched in. I think that’s Zac.

I'd be so full of happines of I could buy this album, but it is so espansive! They are some on Amazon and their price is between 120-300 $!😪
It is expensive. Especially on cd format. But prob only a few hundred of these are in existence. So it’s worth the money if you can afford it.
