How could you watch this in a 300 years? If we are indeed in a simulation, this video is part of it too. The people in the "real" world in 300 years don't have this video

Madara : Wake up to Reality
I mean it is a little scary the possibility of living in a simulation but at the same time, That does not change anything about how you lived your life before or how your living it now. All that changes is the context.
/ perspective which is key
Not so fast. If we are living in a simulation, it is likely that we are being observed, and people behave differently when they think they're being watched. Take Christians as a case: I always hear them ask, "What's the point of being good if there is no God? How can you have morality without the buybull? 😏" And all the smugness and arrogance that goes with saying such a stupid thing that betrays their fundamentally lacking sense of morality.
Anyway, we call this the Hawthorne Effect.
Are you going to be a total asshole if you know someone is watching you, or will you behave at least a little differently? Especially if you don't know if there are rewards and punishments?
One might also take into account the idea that billionaires tend to be into astrology and all that other metaphysical shizz. There are secrets the elite don't want us to have. Some argue that they are in the know, and manipulate reality accordingly. I personally believe witchcraft is real, but not the way most people understand it: I think the saying, "Magic is technology not yet understood," is accurate, and the people "wielding" it, as it were, simply know how to manipulate the simulation from the inside. Manipulate hidden parameters. That, or they are the gods' (engineers') favorites.
my mom said the same thing and I'm jealous cause you both are not bothered with these types of questions
imo its possible to prove we are in a simulation with human understanding and logic, which for all we know we could have been the dumbest animals to ever exist. the entire idea is centered around humans trying to make sense of things and have some glimmer of hope about what is after death. try to imagine what you will be like after you die. you can't. because that's not possible as a conscious being
bro. that. would. change. everything.
last night, i saw a dream. Pretty normal to be honest but it felt so extremely real at that point of time and when I woke up, I couldn't differentiate it from reality. I asked my sister about it and she said it never happened. If I wouldn't have asked her, I'd think it was completely real. Happened to anyone else?
Yes😂
I think that’s pretty normal, people can confuse reality with very realistic dreams
I woke up one day crying, once ever that I can remember in 38 years I have been alive. I cannot remember the dream exactly, it was something bad happening to my kid, I had to go into his room to see if he was still there. Almost like I was dreaming about the time something bad happened, and not just a dream of something bad happening.
People tell me its called shifting but honestly that sounds like way more than just shifting your reality 😭

@@Guilous There are many influential physicists who refute that nonsense. Just because something is not understood doesn't mean it has to be a simulation of the universe. We can't know everything overnight. Simulating the universe is as silly as the flat earth theory... I don't know how anyone can believe in the simulation of the universe. Look at how many theories there are about the multiverse, string theory, and 2D something. And so much more. The Matrix movie came out, and now people think we're living in a simulation. There are great mysteries around us, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's a simulation.
My fellow creators.
You got 3 options.
1 - If you want to gain access to the information you blocked and take control of this construct.
You only need to let go of thoughts entirely and become fully self-aware.
2 - If you want to leave the Matrix and go home.
You not only need to let go of thoughts. You also need to let go of emotions, feeling, needs, wants, and attachments.
You need to let go of absolutely everything.
As soon as you do, you will be instantly home.

The simulation theory scares me so much. If everything is a simulation, there are no limits: the programmer of the simulation could easily add or subtract things from the universe. It could add radioactive creatures and take away the world's oxygen. The noises we hear when we are home alone at night could be caused by real creepy creatures (Not real, simulated. However, simulated things can be considered real by people living in a simulated world) that lurk in the dark waiting for you. If the programmer wanted to, I could actually see the demon in the shower that comes after you close your eyes: those demons and monsters that all the kids are afraid of could be real.
What if everything is already pre planned? Coz after the simulation is made, you cannot make any edits?
But yeah they could be real. Maybe that's why they're talked about. Coz someone saw them in the simulation haha
@nishthagupta1357: Well, after my decades long search of wanting to know what this existence is all about - I have come to the conclusion that we are in a simulation. It is rather depressing. So, everything is already pre-determined. We are like actors in a movie on the big screen. There’s no changing it. It is what it is. Who or whatever the creator is - has the option to simply end it. Depressing.
The image of a terrarium came to mind reading this 😂😂😂
They don't need to change anything it's god's creation we are a simulation of his children and he lets us live and grow by free will. But perhaps the Bible is more scientific than people know... Noah's ark being a space ship and they collected animal DNA not two of each animal... Just all kinds of crazy best thing is just to sit back and enjoy the ride of life til it ends
2 things that I think are important:
1) what is a human? “it feels so real” in this world, but everything we experience, from our limbs to our vision, etc is completely arbitrary. Who knows what form we might take “outside” of a simulation.
2) perhaps a reason to simulate our world is that once AI becomes so good that we no longer need humans or capitalism, or economies in general, what is fair and ethical? It may very well be that the only ethical way to preserve humans after the singularity is to give us simulated lives that can entertain us and give us an opportunity at a sense of fulfillment.
I always thought something similar. “in the future we could simulate reality” is a contradiction, we actually don’t know how reality looks. In real life we could be a different species, totally different to this “reality”, this reality could look like pong for our real selves.
we need to prevent the 2cnd from happening

The fact you think that's ethical is very telling.

i just imagine this man being one of the real people and giving us an existential crisis for fun
i love a casual existential crisis
My take on this is like, imagine living your whole life with different parents, different friends, and a whole different life.. how would waking up feel? You loved so many people, and to wake up to realizing it was all fake would be heart wrenching. With all the years that had passed, how would you feel about your original family? I assume itd feel like youve never met those people before in your life, and to meet random old people to hear that theyre your parents.. god. That sounds horrible. All of your experiences were fake. The people you loved were fake. It would feel so wrong. I dunno, what do you guys think?
Unless we travel back to our real existence when we go to sleep without realizing it. 🫡
he said it was like the matrix that means that it may be that the people we love are in it to maybe we could brake them out
As someone who doesn’t have anyone anyway I see this as a win
It could be fake “outside”, however it is real “in here”, is it not? 😂
Experience the game / fantasize - use what we have learned here for the “outside”.
Also, that is why we need to be nice to people/good stuff-good stuff/etc. “in here” because it could be our parents testing us character-wise.
A month “in here”, could be a pico-second “out there”.
Who knows ? Maybe we have the same parents
This is crazy because when I was around 8 I always thought that I was living in a simulation but now I am 17 and I realised I am not the only one who thinks that it's a simulation
Wait until you're 26! Things are getting better and better 😅
The problem with the perspective at 7:35, is that it is based off of our understanding of technology which understanding would be limited by the simulation rendering us. In order to fully grasp the possibilities in simulation theory we can’t base it at all off of what we know or understand as the possibilities could be limitless
@josephjarvis8228: Bingo ! Spot on.
Same goes for "God" and "Religion"
Imagine you wake up in the middle of the night and someone’s takes off your headset and says, “are you ready to try it now?”
Michael from Vsauce once dismissed the simulation theory in an old video. His argument was that irrational numbers like Pi and the square root of 2 exist. These are numbers with infinite digits and therefore impossible to compute.
How about infinity itself? In order to create a simulation THIS good, you'd have to harness the power of not only the fabric of space but also the fabric of time. Now, this could be easier with a computer. However, it's not going to be by much, simply because black holes exist and they break all laws of space-time. If we are in a simulation, that computer is the size of a star, AT LEAST, with processing power like we can not even comprehend. You're talking about LITERALLY CREATING A GOD. Custom pc builders would cream themselves upon sight of it.
"Pshh, your only building computers with a few terabytes? We have SMART-COMMUNICATION HOLOGRAMS with more space than that. AAAAAAAAAnd we don't have to carry them cuz they're embedded in our skin..."

@@HHLucifer666There ain't no way we are living in a simulation, I agree with you 100%, this supercomputer has to use so much power to be this good. With this in mind I don't see any reason for why a civilization would even make a computer of that size.
I personally think the simulation theory is just an easy way out of explaining why everything is. It’s very similar to the way we like to blame stuff we don’t yet understand in space as being alien made. I can’t really go along with this stuff unless definitive repeatable evidence can be found.
It’s fun to think that an advanced civilisation has created everything using a super computer but without cold hard evidence I can’t see it being plausible.
Then again that’s what a theory is, just and idea
@@HHLucifer666goes back to the render thing, when we use equipment to observe and detect black holes what means it’s not their when we look away.
You can calculate a lot of digits pi using a calculator. So imagine the possibilities of a quantum supercomputer the size of our universe. We even have a constant, which determines the speed of our simulation... The speed of light. In theory, if we'd have a speed of light 100 times faster than in the universe right now, we'd need so much less energy to do "work". We'd only need 1% of the speed of light to travel to Proxima Centauri in 4 years. In our current universe, we'd need 100% the speed of light, which would require infinite energy.
So the speed of light determines our maximum processing power. In a sense.

One interesting thought i had about this is that scientists are confused by the big bang. How it seems our universe just came out of no where. We have really no idea how and no way to prove any ideas we do have.
But an entire world just appearing out of no where that creates us, who are now thinking and reasoning about it?
Seems an awful lot like someone someone clicking go live on a super advanced simulation. I mean the big bang is a lot like a computer powering up for the first time.
Imagine you had a thinking and reasoning ai who was confined to a computer only allowed to interact with things that are already there with it, it doesnt have internet, or anything other than the world it is put in, It would be unaware of us, its creators existence, and from its perspective its universe would have appeared from no where, no proof or evidence on how it couldve came to be. All while it is living in a confined program being watched by us.
Its kind of like how a 2d being couldnt interact with the 3rd dimension. This AI couldnt interact with our world and be able to know it exists.
Would it be that far of a stretch to say that we are all living in a simulation that was once just clicked on by a creator?
But assuming that wild idea is true could we escape? Well no, not without the help of the creator, like if we uploaded the ais conciousness to the internet then into a body, but in an offline isolated system it would be impossible to self transfer yourself out of the simulation.
But who cares it feels real so who really cares😂

I would think very carefully about that. You think your want to leave your home, but when you do, you become homesick. There is nothing fun outside of the Matrix. Why would there be? You don't get to sin in heaven after all. No food, no games to play, no mistakes to make. All of the joy of living is gone.
Actually about the mandela effect, most of them were created before 2012 like "Jif" peanut butter was made in 1958 or like Fruit of the Loom was made in 1851! If you search up "World ending in 2012" on youtube there will be lots of videos giving evidence that the world ended in 2012. Maybe when the world "ended" the simulation restarted like you would a computer. Then, the simulation might have forgotten to add things to the simulation like Curious George's tail, Monopoly man's monocle, and Fruit of the Loom's cornucopia. This is probably what causes lots of mandela effects on our world. I hope this information helped in any way! Stay educated!
(Also your vids are amazing! and very funny at times! these are very informative videos and I love them! I loved the editing and script! And the weirdest one for me too is the fruit of the loom!)

I can BARELY remember the memory which gets me wondering was that memory just a dream? I got confused then realized you can’t fix a chain with glue, so what the hell was that memory?
I really wanna talk about this more:
-My problem with the AI theory is that it implies that there was an actual point in time just like this, where people had the same existential questions and thought that they also lived in a simulation, though they were the reality. I think this might have been what you were getting at with the Russian nesting dolls, and it definitely throws a wrench it the whole thing.
-There's too many plot holes in every religion out there, including atheism, for us to truly know what's beyond this. Idk about yall, but it feels like we're meant to know, like something really bad will happen if we do. Maybe this is part of the "Great Filter" thing? Something about it all just seems like we're missing a large and very vital piece of the puzzle that is the universe, and if this was unlocked everything would go to shit. I'm praying that we'll know when we pass on, and that whatever is beyond this will make some sense.
-Also, personally, I really think that there are some people who aren't real. They act normal, but I swear if you routinely talk to them for longer than a week things just don't make sense. It's like they only have a superficial personality and a complete inability to think critically or deeply about the world. Like they're actions mimic that of an actor in a sitcom rather than a real person, like they don't exist as their own entity. Idk maybe I'm just crazy but I've met at least 7 people (that I can count) who are like this.
-the "Great Filter" is probably the scariest yet most understandable point I've heard thus far. There's no reason that we haven't been contacted by, or at least had evidence of, extraterrestrial life. Even plants or bactiria. I refuse to believe that earth is the only planet to ever form life. The math just ain't mathing, it's all much too convinient. Somethings stopping us.
-on a side note, what even is life?? What separates us from a computer? Both use energy to perform tasks and are made of physical materials. If we're all just meat sacks, than how come AI isn't given rights as a metallic meat sack?
The answer why we haven't had evidence of interplanetary sentience is the same reason why primitive people on some islands in the Pacific don't listen to radio 4.
They don't have the technology to recieve it and don't know it exists.
Same difference with us and alien interstellar communications.
Get a grip brother
Is it crazy that I read the whole thing and I get the some people don't act real/ like a normal person
God is the answer to everything. It’s why I don’t have to worry about this kind of thing and if you don’t know the word of Jesus, go check it out because it’s both interesting and it gives peace and closure not otherwise attainable
fr half of the world feels so robotic
Well, heres something to think about. Any given computer has a limited amount of processing power, so if you were to go down the line of simulations you would be left with less and less processing power to create a realistic world which means that its unlikely that there are infinite amount of layers of simulations. Think sort of like that one rick and morty episode with all the fake families. You go down the line enough and eventually you have a product that is so obviously different from the original that you would be able to tell instantly that its a fake
Dyson's eternal intelligence is the proposed idea of a computer that runs for an infinite amount of time, while using a finite amount of energy. It does that by becoming progressively slower as the universe cools down towards absolute zero. There would be a moment where such a computer would take like a trillion years to process just one second of the simulation, but inside the simulation, no one would feel the difference. So it's perfectly possible to go infinity and beyond, with no limitations inside the simulation.
@@leandroteles7857 I understand this from a mathematic point of view, but what motivation would any civilisation have for devoting what would likely be significant amount of it's resources to a computer like this? Especially if they would only perceive the simulation at a very slow rate.
Assume you are in a simulated universe and you don’t know it is simulated.
The simulator is just managing the inputs and outputs to your brain to give you the perfect impression of a universe. (Or your ‘brain’ itself may be simulated within the computer)
You build a computer which can simulate another universe within this universe.
Only you just think you have built a computer - it’s an illusion.
You enter the simulation - or think you do. In fact you are still being simulated in the first computer which creates the illusion of entering a simulation.
But within your simulation you cannot fool yourself that you can make another simulator within your simulation. You have to resort to the above illusion/trick which has been used on you.
Thus you you can simulate a stack of universes without too much computing effort. It would possibly be proportional to the number of consciousnesses.

One theory I think about a lot is that you yourself are immortal. That each time you “die” you create an alternate reality where you keep living, even if to everyone else it seems like you’re dead. From your point of view you don’t know this is happening, you just know you keep recovering from horrible injuries and everyone else around you also has no clue.

What if life is just the role play where we all forgot that we started and we all think it's life
When you think about it too much, it becomes extremely scary and id hard to think outside of what you would normally think, the simulation thoery makes sense only because we have come up wirh the technology to read brain waves, and learn how the brain works, the reason i dont believe in this simulation thing is that no matter how much it makes sense, there will never be a time where it makes sense that the observable universe (which we havent seen everything yet) is we can see, and the evidence that the speed of lifht contributes to it being a rule that nothing can pass the speed of light doesnt make much sense, because the reason why the speed of light is the fastest in the universe is because it has no weight, its a photon. But for some reason we can still measure the universe growing at a faster rate then the speed of light which is known to be impossible to pass the speed of light, so when you relax and think about the simulation thoery, how would it make sense that we are able to measure how fast the universe is expanding if the computer doesnt have to expand beyond the OBSERVABLE universe for us to see, also sorry if i dont make sense a little bit, i didnt sleep all night

this vid talked about concepts I already heard of and learned of but it was fun to watch nonetheless.
tho I still find it difficult to understand the concept of the theory that I might be the only one that exists. like I see all of you and you..see me too so I have a hard time getting this 😅
The idea that we are living in a simulation came way before the 17th century. Read Plato’s work “The Republic” and specifically the chapter “The Cave”. And this was way back in Ancient Greece.
the "wake up" at the end gave me heart atack for a sec lmao
Please make a video on dreams. Cause they feel so real. Like simulation.
What if when we’re awake that’s the actual dream, and when we go to sleep and “dream” THATS actual reality 😮, but different realities each dream, cause they obviously change yk, but yes I often wonder on wake up after one that makes me think a few mins. I have dreams OFTEN where I can legit “feel”, often snake bite dreams bc I keep a lot of them. Last year I had one where I got bit by a venomous, and it felt like how I would expect it to. The SAME year, first time ever, I found a Cottonmouth and instead of using my tool 🤦♂️ I pinned the head, but needed a better grip, dropped the snake and MID-AIR he got me with 1 fang. And it felt the EXAXT same as what I felt in the dream and also expected it would feel like. Interesting or nah? Call it!
Great quality, keep it up. Also, I liked the final message. It's scary to think we live in a simulation, but let's enjoy it while we are here...
YOU GOT NY SUB WITH THIS.. FINALLY SOMEONE PUT ALL MY THEORIES INTO CONTEXT AND A SANE EXPLANATION 👏 😂❤
5:55 its like putting a red ball into a container with 99 white balls and saying odds are 50% cuz you either pick it or you dont. While its also 1% cuz there is 1% out of 100 total balls you pick the red once. So probability isnt always something you can or should apply to something.

Am I the only one that gets this feeling, this feeling of being able to do anything whenever I want.
It’s hard to explain, and no, I do not mean about being completely omnipresent, omnipotent, or omniscient.
It is simply this feeling that I get once I step back and look at the bigger picture. Like, I feel I could defeat someone in a fight, even though I know I am weak.
This isn’t arrogance or delusion, I just feel like I could do anything if I really put my mind into it.
Like I said. It is hard to explain without coming off as stupid or crazy.
Yea, I was somewhat thinking like that. I was thinking about when I put my mind to it- goes that way(not immediately and was thinking anyone is also thinking like that ). Feels very weird.
Especially when I feel that I wont die today.

Yes. about 4 years ago I got so burnt out working, I just stopped working. I was still going, but I did nothing. I am/was a programner, so it would be pretty easy to tell I'm not working.
Figured I get fired, but it never happened. After covid and we all went to remote, I stopped even logging in for meetings. Yet, paychecks keep coming. All I do is ride motorcycles and play games all day. How the hell is this possible.
Same with riding motorcycle. I'm constantly flying around at 100+ mph and never any consequences.
Yeah, I'm feeling exactly what you said.
I think you’re just the main character bro 💀
God complex
I mean, crazy thought; in response to the fermi paradox bit, we COULD actually be a race of extraterrestrial anthropologists that are using records from a long extinct human species to expereince their history...
But,if we are in a simulation, then would we really be able to think of the fact that we are in a simulation? That would mean we have achieved sentience as i'm sure the designer does not desire
That would make sense, but there are people in the world who would love to see random simulations of people questioning their whole existence on whether they are real or not, which some people find fun, so idk
7:50 that explains why you can't see anything over the horizon
This brought me back to the infamous CIA experiment
The Gateway Process
Could you also cover this topic, it seems underrated
was really hoping you would get into the double slit experiment! great video tho
your videos are so interesting! I can’t stop watching
Can I have admin so I can spawn 10 sheep in a random guys house
I’m pretty sure there’s a civilisation level on the Kardashev Scale that can create civilisations at will. What if we are one of the civilisations created by a higher up civilisation?
if I wouldn't have checked your CZcams channel, I wouldn't have known if this video existed. Great job on simplyfling it and making it this short!!
I found this video from shorts and didn't see the thumbnail so imagine how I felt when I accidentally exited out of the app and then quickly went back in and just saw the thumbnail and a paused button, I spent five minutes looking for the "Wake up" image and remembered to check the thumbnail
I imagine waking up in a futuristic Dave and busters and all your friends laughing at you.
You are the reason i became aware of several things. You always have latest knowledge on everything. Feel like i am ahead cause of watching ur videos.
You hella got me with that jumpscare at the end, good job 😅
love this channel, one of my new favorites! I'll be here all the way, bro
I read somewhere that a football player had a hell of a near death experience while playing, idk if he got sacked or what but I think he was knocked out and the moment he was knocked out, he had the near death experience to where he slipped into a real life type of dream that lasted 80 or so years, had a family and so on, but then woke up finally after realizing something was odd about one his lamps in this experience, then boom, wakes up from it lying on the ground in the middle of his football game.
Well basically what happened was the guy got knocked out, he was in dream for 3 hrs..... Where he found his love, finally got married.... Had kids..... Lived fking 10 yrs of his life..... When after 3 hrs he was probably getting awake or it was just his brain trying to get him out of the dream he saw the lamp looking 2d.....It looked really weird, he just stared at the lamp for a week than finally his reality began to disappear.... He was finally awake......That's mind fucking as the wife and children he loved the most never existed....

Still doesn't add up though...the ethical implications of such detailed stimulations would a big deal in a highly advanced civilization. There would be no need to simulate pain and suffering to such a realistic degree. And if such a computer/ai existed that could run these immense highly real simulations, it would likely be the one in charge and then may as well be God.
"There would be no need to simulate pain and suffering to such a realistic degree"
There is. How else would you learn?
without pain and loss and ups and downs it would make the happiness we feel dull. think of if as being high or drunk all the time - it’s only good to be drunk sometimes because it gives you an “escape” from the normal life
@@davidsamonski It's never good to be drunk. LOL
But I get your point. It reminds me of a quote from Misfits - "Life is shit sometimes, but you need the shit to appreciate the good things".
Bros religious asf 😂
@@191. what would be the point of the simulation though? What would be learned from the simulation?
bro my WiFi is acting up while I’m watching this I stopped watching it for a bit and it started working again dude
I have this memory or a dream or something that i got to pick what i looked like and what not and then i was strapped in face down and seen a bright white light. Seems so real still i could never forget
You will remember all that was and will be, as you wake up remembering exactly what you came here for. So, you wouldn't even bother to worry, because you now know and remember everything. Just like the part that was locked so that we don't have to remember or know the real "thing" we are. That's what gets unlocked, I guess.
I’d say that it’s probably not likely…
Why would we make it so that we would experience this entire lifetime that just… means nothing? After you finish the “simulation” theirs no way you can regain your memories before that, and you wouldn’t know anyone in the real world, it would basically being just… sadness, because you would only know your “simulation” memories and you would struggle to reintegrate into society and quite possibly never be able to live a normal life in that “society”, so it would just be a lose lose situation.
maybe we do know our real lives outside of it. when you play a video game for a while or watch a movie you forget about what’s going on outside of that media, but when it turns off you remember oh yeah i have to make dinner or whatever
People of 100 years ago could say the same thing about us.
"Why do these people stare into screens and ignore the people around them?"
@@itsROMPERS... well here’s the thing, the phone brings us happiness and distracts us from all the and stuff in the real world. I bet cavemen enjoyed hunting because it was the only thing they had, and YOU wouldn’t wanna hunt a wooly mammoth, would you?

Yea there really was a light
Me watching this and then all the sudden everything goes dark and I “wake up”
After I saw this video..I always think..what if someone tries to actually waking me up from this virtual but allot of them been sacrifies (like being killed by guards or failed to wake me up?..cause I saw many problems in our world..like why parents teachers and friends tend to give suggestions to work as a engineer..doctor or teacher or even something we don't enjoy...what if the thing that we wanted to actually do with good intentions it's a no for them or won't even recommend ..why does my childhood is better but now as teenager and this moment it's sucks??like a virus spreading to people and got infected
[[ ACCEPT ]] [[[ D > Force win god energy power ]]]
As soon as you start to question this reality and begin to see through the deception and manipulation around you, you will suddenly get a lot of interference from “friends and family etc.” - there is such a thing as NPC-like collective hive mind that gets triggered in people around you once you “stick out”….
Me: one last video before I go to sleep
The video:
This changes the whole way I perceive the universe
We’re living in the matrix simple. We are connected to these machines asleep. Thinking we are actually alive
All of this is assuming that one scenario but it is unknowable how likely it is. This scenario is often chosen because it’s the only one we can reason about because it assumes that the outside reality is similar to ours. We cannot know how likely that is because we have no information about the outside reality because information the way we know it only exists in our reality.
I'm all for finding out if we're in a simulation, but what if it's for our own good? What if we're being protected, not imprisoned?
This was really well done
What does it even matter ? Simulation , spinning globe , flat earth , virtual reality ? Whatever we are in life still sucks
imagine if we all are just some 13 yo olds project 💀
That’s deadass what I was just thinking bro word for word wtf
I remember feeling like i was in a simulation since i was 3 and i would have had the best memory of a possible past life then compared to now

The bizarre thing about the Monopoly guy Mandela Effect thing, is that there's that joke about the Monopoly guy in the Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls sequel from the nineties. Thing is, the character he jokes about has the monocle...
Well, there was "Plato's Cave" which discussed this idea about 2 thousand years before Descartes...

but what if the idea is that you’re able to think and inquire about your existence. If someone had the power to create this simulation they certainly knew what they were doing with consciousness.
Not necessarily. A being could have created a program with a few simple rules and let it run. It becomes more complex as it runs and evolves into consciousness. Evolution would work, quantum entanglement would work and consciousness would develops on its own.
Imagination is a simulation, and some people's run wild
