WHERE IS NEPHI FROM?
I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City in the Philippines but I have been moving and living in different countries due to the nature of my work. I’ve lived in countries like Singapore, Japan and the US due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel but I am currently in Indonesia thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
MUSICAL BACKGROUND
Former band vocalist of Akita performing at K-Pub in Ayala Cebu, Philippines (2019-2020)
Former band vocalist of Big Three Band performing in Yokohama 7, Yokohama, Japan (2014-2016).
Former member of the Filipino Voice Symphony (2010-2011) where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our singing group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
Former university choir and singing trainer at Technological University of the Philippines Visayas.
WHAT IS THE GREATER GOAL?
My mission is to promote music among different regions and try to make people from different countries relate to each other through music and singing. I have always believed that even small gestures in understanding similarities and differences towards others actually lead to greater awareness about countries and their people.
In this modern world full of things that divide humanity, it is but perfect to put efforts in re-uniting and building bridges among all of us.

In the first video, the man in dark purple tunic with the E5 note is Jay Jay, a Malaysian singer who's been singing since the late 1970s. Young Faizal Tahir is the man in red shirt who sang the 1st chorus.

I guess we can say the water is a symbol of repentance. Actually he was doing his ablution or wuduk as we call it. It is compulsory before we muslims perform our prayers (solat). As a muslim, the guy started performing solat again in jail as part of his repentance journey. Just as the mother in the second video clip. She performs solat as a way to repent and ask for God's forgiveness.
