    This is my attempt at removing the dash, with more detail than any other CZcams video i found. I'm sure this is gonna be a chore, so watch for periodic updates

      Johnylogic16 no problem! i love Coor's Light, but Boulevard is always good.
      what side of the dash is it coming from? it might be something that just rolled to the front and got underneath the dash cover.

      Lucas Bradshaw I can't tell exactly where but I know for a fact it's coming from the inside of the dash. It starts to rattle after I hit a bump while driving at moderate speeds. It's driving me crazy .

    Very cool and lengthy video. But for future reference, use K-seal copper liquid. Chevy heater core leaks all the time. Bad designed with just rubber O-ring it leak just by messing around with in/outlet hose inside engine bay. Half bottle of K seal will fix it forever and also help prevent head gasket failures.

  • @robertakarobertbigmdmissl3197

    I was able to get the heater core changed using your video. Now when I initially start my truck, park is highlighted but goes out after about 3 seconds, I can go through N,D,3,2,1 and they highlight. When I go back down from R to P neutral highlights for about 5 seconds then goes out and P never does highlight, which would unlock the doors. Did you experience that problem Lucas?

    Great video! Thanks for making it! My heater doesn’t work but there’s no smell which makes me think the core is okay and some electrical wiring went bad. The fuses are good, do you have any recommendations? At least before I take it to the shop lol.

    • @lucasbradshaw2545
      @lucasbradshaw2545  Před 6 lety

      Nick,
      1:do you have any loss of fluid?
      2:does your temp gauge in the dash show accurate
      3: does it overheat or stay cold?
      -just because there's no smell doesn't mean the heater core is good...
      These model Chevy's also had a common problem with the climate control switches. Its a lot easier and cheaper to change as a first step

    • @shanghaichase7784
      @shanghaichase7784 Před 6 lety

      @shanghaichase7784 Před 6 lety +1

      Lucas Bradshaw thanks for the advice! I already checked the fuses and tested them with a spare. Not that. So I'm really hoping that it's just a problem with the potentiometer behind the temp dial.

      As for your G6... it's a GM. buy a "replacement" control panel (or knob... I'm not familiar with your specific dash set up, but you can email it to me)
      It's very common for GM climate control panels to have faulty/weak solder points. don't go to a junk yard because chances are you'll find another bad one. shop around like carparts.com or rockauto.com or even ebay... Google is a mechanics best friend

And my heat doesn't seem to work that well but I don't smell any coolant and my passenger floor board isn't wet what could it be?

      first, I have to ask you a few questions...
      Do you have a Service Engine Soon light? what are the codes?
      By "after market exhaust" is it a full system, cat-back or just add a glass pack?
      watch a few of my other videos. I show how to trouble shoot rough start/idle. unfortunately, it could be anything from O2 sensors, fuel pump, intake and or exhaust manifold gasket to as simple as a bad injector

    Little too much talking, talk as you work so viewers can have a detailed clue to what you are saying as you are showing your work so they can learn what to do a lot easier and do the job a lot quicker!
