Yes, I have driven the Setra S417USA. It is an outstanding coach. It handles like a sports car. Very fun to drive.

I live in a medium high mountain range with hills up to 850m. It isn't very high but in the winter we need very much salt.
And also our Lion's Coach, Travego, Tourismo and Cityliner isn't rusty.

My company assigned me a 2000 Van Hool T2145 and for a 12 year old bus with the original steering box and linkage it still handles better than a lot of American/Canadian coaches I have driven from the same year or newer. Also when comparing my 2000 Van Hool to a Prevost or MCI of the same year the interior fit and finish is far superior, especially around the entry way, drivers area and dash.

@pioneermci ..Part 1 of 2 As a Canadian coach driver I agree with you on some things but even the new Prevost and MCI coaches are being made with fiberglass paneling. Also when it comes to ride & handling European coaches run circles around us. Our coaches have sloppy steering with slow ratio (meaning you have to turn the wheel more) whereas European coaches have quick ratio responsive steering and handle like sports cars.

Nachdem der deutsche Travego von Mercedes-Benz 2018 ohne eine Würdigung/ Produktionsabschied eingestellt wurde (Sein Nachfolger Tourismo vom Design zwischen hässlich und langweilig pendelt) baut also nur noch Setra hochwertige Reisebusse in Deutschland. 1999 haben noch Drögmöller, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Neoplan und Ernst Auwärter Omnibusse in Deutschland produziert. Drögmöller und Ernst Auwärter gibt es leider nicht mehr und die Anderen bauen jetzt im Ausland.
Geschmackssache.
Find's auch schade, dass man den Travego bei uns eingestellt hat. Man hätte ja wenigstens einen Doppeldecker aus dem Travego machen können.
Do you know features like active brake assist, lane assist, traction control system, ESP, front collision guard or Go7-PowerShift in america?
"Fibreglass has no strength in a collision" - it doesn't have to, because with
a Travego (ABA, SPA, TCS, ESP and more) collisions almost can't happen!
And of course a Travego has plastic too, but it's not as heavy as steel so you
save fuel.
And do american buses use AdBlue to save the nature with Euro 6 (EPA 2010)? Tell me good american buses.

An with the new buses, but all the active safety systems, it hardly is possible to get into a severe collision; been to Newark, NYC and Boston - Except for Kev in Ukraine, I've never seen worse buses...

Ist ja schön mit der Notbremsung aber auf der Autobahn würde das garantiert einen Unfall geben denn so schnell kann kein Auto bremsen und Schwupps ist ein Auto hinten drauf gefahren
