    Although Zev does great work, imo, I think they're way overpriced especially considering there's no work done on the lower half. I rather get my hands on the new Sig Spectre models. 👍

      Thats what I was thinking. Here your paying the cost of the sig xl. Additionally, a zev slide and barrel and sights put together. Me personally. If I were to go this route. I would buy those parts separately so I could have the stock upper to sell and get my money back. They are probably at this time. The same amount of money that it would cost to buy the zev parts for lol. People pay it because they either can't find the parts other places and because most sig parts can just be shipped to them.

  • @jaceprovo
    @jaceprovo Před 14 dny

    I in fact did buy one. It had the custom Zev grip module. Much more grippy than the stock. I also took out the trigger and put it in armory craft. I didn’t really like it that much as it hits the wall and 90° and breaks well beyond that. Two different from other triggers for me. I put in an M CARBO kit and trigger and now it’s pretty tight. But it still has the typical creep. Just shorter.
    What you’re really buying is a new slide and a new barrel and a custom stippled plastic grip.

      Mine was simply a first impressions table-top look at the pistol. I didn’t get to shoot it because it’s not mine. However, everything below the slide is 100% factory stock from Sig Sauer. I looked at Zev uppers and for 499.99 bare bones it was a no-go. I've been using True Precision barrels for a while now and True Precision recently started selling their Axiom slide pre-assembled with Sigs parts kits installed. Ordered the Mystic Grey PVD barrel and slide which is reminiscent of the Zev but slightly more angular than the Zev. The slide is riding on an X-Macro lower and is analogous to the recently released X-Macro Tacops - sans the magwell. Although the slide is 100 dollars more than Sig's new XL ( per Sig, this is the TacOps slide) slide, combined it is still far less expensive than the Zev Z365XL shown above.

    Looks like an upper with some nice features on a stock lower. Considering what it would cost to buy a Zev slide, barrel and sights, on top of the cost of a 365XL, the $1,199 price is reasonable. I like that the Zev slide retains the rear sight with an optic, while the stock 365XL doesn't. Add an Armory Craft trigger, Hogue HandAll grip sleeve, and Tactical Development mag base plates, and it would be a decent pistol.
    But to answer the question - no, I wouldn't buy one, but I would consider a whole new upper to put on my current 365XL.

    I carry a P365XL daily, and I have shot a P365 with some ZEV aftermarket parts and honestly I think Sig has really shown what they can do when it comes to producing a high quality compact handgun because other than maybe aesthetically I didn’t notice much of a difference, the trigger pull was reduced but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t a part from zev, it was another brand. Do no not worth it in my opinion. I’ll agree that ZEV makes some serious improvements to a G19 but Sig doesn’t need any help.

    This is part of the new Sig Sauer Cash Cow, the custom shop AGX, ZEV etcetera. The plan is to suck you into owning the 365, the 365x the 365zev, and all the 320 varieties…and on it goes. I’m not being cynical here because I own most of the Sig Legions. I own only Sig Sauers, 1911s, and one N frame S&W 44 magnum, which is really just a fun range hand cannon. It’s Sig Sauer’s business plan to get more guns into people’s hands through variants and they can’t be faulted for that. Personally I have no interest. I already bring 10 guns to the range once a week, one of which is my p365 carry gun, and Which I don’t enjoy shooting because it’s snappy compared to say the p220 or the Springfield TRP. I have to imagine that Phil Strater has a good laugh every time he introduces a new firearm and tells us how delightful it is. So this 365 receives a yawn, and meh. I’m on my way to pick up a new Springfield 1911 Ronan .45.

    Well, its June of 2022. Sad to say that XL lower looks sort of wimpy by today's standards. Put a Wilson Combat grip module on it and an XL Tactical baseplate contoured to match the beefier grip module and an XL Tactical pic rail adapter to add a picatinny rail to the 365XL and you've got a lower that starts to match up to that ZEV Octane upper. TBO the ZEV is pretty but instead of spending another 400 dollars i put a real 'battleworn' finish on my original 365XL slide - not a cerakote imitation but the 'almost' real thing. The side bevels on the muzzle, serrations, rear night sight housing and rear of the slide had already picked up some notable wear so I just embellished on it. Amazing what you can do with some scotchbrite, steel wool and emery paper to a slide alredy starting to show 'character'. LOL the upper now looks like it has a couple decades of wear on it instead of just 3 years. The beauty now is that the more beat-up it gets, the better(IMO) and more authentic it looks.
