Hare Krishna! Welcome to the 2nd Episode of Sri Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama!
The character of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is indeed wonderful, but even more wonderful is the character of His dear devotees. Sri Krsna Caitanya along with His dear devotees very affectionately bestow love of God on all.
Lord Chaitanya appeared 5 centuries ago in Navadvip to inaugurate the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. His compassion was like an ocean of mercy that knew no bounds.
Today we'd be starting our parikrama by visiting the sacred residences of Sri Advaita Acharya and Gadadhara Pandit, two of Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu's dearest associates.
We come to learn from various authentic sources, Lord Krishna personally made His advent over 500 years ago in a golden complexion to inaugurate this process of congregational chanting as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, in Mayapur, located in Navadvipa, West Bengal.
Sri Navadvipa consists of 9 Islands namely:
Antardvipa
Simantadvipa
Godrumadvipa
Madhyadvipa
Koladvipa
Rtudvipa
Jahnudvipa
Modadrumadvipa
Rudradvipa
Each of these 9 Islands has a high spiritual significance and is imbibed with transcendental qualities. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu used to frequently visit these islands with His associates and encourage the congregational chanting of the holy names of Lord Krishna.
Every year, devotees take pleasure in traversing these islands, visiting various temples along the banks of river Ganga and reminiscing the pastimes of Lord Chaitanya. Particularly during the period of Gaura Purnima (March 18th), the divine appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
ISKCON Bangalore presents the Navadvipa Mandal Parikrama, a 12 Day Online Tour of the pristine locations of Sri Gaura Mandala, where the Supreme Lord and His devotees enacted their pastimes.
In this Virtual Parikrama, one can witness the spectacular landscape of Sri Navadvipa Dham, beautiful deities of the Supreme Lord, take part in heart-touching bhajans, and listen to the most unique and confidential pastimes of the Supreme Lord.
