Egypt is an arabic country, they just use a regional accent that is hard to understand by non-egyptians(more specifically me who has born in jordan where speaking arabic was less formal). Many different arabic countries just have regional accents that make it hard to understand. A non-arabic example is like the difference between british and americans, or in some regions english and spanish.
