good redemption game by JB. its surprising that no one's drawing attention to the 2 flagrant fouls he experienced in this game. hitting the head is an automatic flagrant 1 this season.
The national media is too focused on the fouls committed on lebron
@@jasonwolfe3252 yup. as can be expected. they like the big market teams like LA and BRooklyn. its like the refs only missed calls on the lakers side. there were tons of missed calls on the celtics side as well. it wasn't a well officiated game.
another important missed call for the celtics was the brogdon foul on anthony davis. thankfully mazzula challenged and got it overturned. that shouldn't have been a challenge if the refs were doing their job. it shouldn't have been a jumpball either. Tatum had possession. it should've been a no call with the celtics on a fastbreak the other way ideally and with the challenge, even with the celtics winning the jump, should've been automatically celtics ball.
imagine as well if JB complained about those 2 hits to the head like lebron did with his no-call. i'd bet a ton of money JB gets a technical.
@Rob Vera they making it seem like the most egregious missed call in history of the league. Refs are known for swallowing their whistle at the end of games.

Kyrie been doing what he does consistently for years. Multiple time all star, (Browns only a 1 time all star) has a ring and is fun to watch. Brown just ain’t as popular as other superstars.

Man im amazed with how jaylen showed up tonight but as a celtics fan i cant be excited with how regulation ended. Refs ruined the game for me. As much as i want boston to win, shouldve won fairly
you could think of it this way. if the refs properly called a flagrant foul on beverly on the jb rebound and putback before the laker's last possession, the celtics would've retained possession and the lakers would've had to foul.
you can scour other highlights as well and JB was hit twice on the head in this game. 1 was a regular foul, 1 was a no call. according to the rules this season, contact on the head is an automatic flagrant 1 (much like the whole you can't step under a shooter's landing spot). it can be reviewed for possible flagrant 2 if there's windup, intent, etc.
everybody's focusing on that last lebron no-call but ignoring the 2 flagrants JB should've gotten. this is why you see JB signaling that he got hit on his head/tapping on his head. that was supposed to be FT + possesion for the celtics.

@@goblinfn4461 i think this is a lesson on how to work the refs. lebron, say what you will about the man, but just showed a masterclass about how to work the refs without getting a technical. the only other player in the league who i think is as good at him at that is draymond green.
this is why even if the basketball purist in me is annoyed when tatum complains to the refs, i understand why he does it. lebron, green and others gets away with it. it takes work but there's rewards to be reaped later on. of course ideally, i'd rather the officiating be fair and no one gets superstar calls or calls because you manipulated the refs but this is a sad fact in the nba.

I can understand that, but at the same time, over the course of a long season, IMO the refs balance their shittiness out on all the teams.
I'm sure the Celtics and Lakers have both been helped by the refs as much as they've been fucked by them.
Lakers fans are so mad about the final play but Jaylen Brown was taken out of 2.5 quarters by ticky tack foul trouble

I'm a huge celtics fan but I'm ashamed the rest of the team besides brown and tatum didnt play well. The refs truly were horrible in some aspects but we won the game on controversial calls.

Lol I’m a Celtics fan , but I understand the reaction. You carry your shitty team to the end you get a play drawn up for you, you execute the play and are fouled right infront the refs. I’d be pissed too. If it was a close call he probably wouldn’t react like that, but this was downright a fuck up by the refs. The league needs to review all end of the game plays. And with the challenges if a coach wins they need to keep the challenge
