- Driving the MAN DL05 in Berlin X10, the latest official DLC for OMSI 2 on Steam. The DLC has approximately 60km of driving and provides 4 complete bus lines and 18 additional routes. Today I shall be driving the X10 route to the zoo, the longest route in the DLC.

Squirrel, my good man, while the zoo--one of the two anyway--is located at the station Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten, assuming people who are taking the bus there actually want to visit the zoo is like assuming that people who go to King's Cross want to meet the king. ;) Really, Bahnhof Zoo is the most important train and subway station in the western half of the city.
By the way, in Berlin you will frequently hear announcements in English as well as German on buses and trains to help out tourists.
I love the fact that the passengers speak the Berlin dialect. It sounds so funny, especially when they complain.
Hey Squirrel, Im a student from Berlin and I have to say that this line is soooo detailed builded.. I drive via Zoo almost every day, and the scenery and the bus fits so goood.
Ah, and the last stop "Herzallee" is under the bridge, not in front ;)

berlin zoo part is actually really accurate, I stayed at a hotel next to the station during a school trip. The big building is a station and the zoo is actually on the right when u drive onto the parking lot

Been on these buses (possibly this route) irl in Berlin, the map may not look great but I can't get over how accurate the sound effects are!

I so want to travel on Squirrel bus lines. Never knowing where you'll end up, or what time you'll get there or the condition you'll be in on arrival. The fawlty towers of bus companies.

Great Vid Paul, i simply love these Omsi2 videos - yer patience (or lack of some) with the passengers are so hillarious - and then the fact we can get totally lost on the journey - that epic´, so please - more of it.
This seems to be good scenery, I like the details. Night route should work fine if you're gonna do that. Also wondering how this would look so much better in Unreal engine with all the details, would work so much better too.

On the discussion about nearside-nearside and offside-offside turns, here in Denmark the rule is that offside takes priority, that is if your counterpart initiates an offside style turn, you have to perform one such. However, mostly people tend to go for the nearside-nearside and pretty much all traffic lights are designed for nearside, with only a few exceptions. I presume that it is very much like this in Germany as well, we are usually pretty aligned when it comes to this sort of stuff. Nevertheless you should always follow the markings on the road.

In case it hasn't been posted already, the announcement of the last stop is always in both, German and English here in Berlin. It's the same on the S Bahn and the U Bahn as well, by the way.

You can refuel at the bus depots as well as at the service stations. I think the word frustration best sums up this game.

35:17 Announcement called for the stop after the express sector. The stop you stopped at here was in the express sector, and so were the few stops in front. So thats why the announcements kept calling the same stop name.

@Squirrel Berlin Zoologischer Garten (aka "Zoo") isn't the Berlin Zoo. It was the Central Train Station (until the new one was finished a few years ago) and is still one of THE main traffic hubs in Berlin, intersection between S- and U-Bahn commuter trains, many many bus routes and not to mention long distance and high speed train services to Germany and Europe. The actual Zoo is around the corner and called "Zoologischer Garten Berlin" (instead of "Berlin Zoologischer Garten") and YES that is confusing. The Zoologischer Garten Berlin is located in a large green park called "Tiergarten" or "Animal Garden" in Germany. But not all of THAT is a Zoo. Germany. Confusing as hell :D
+TheCloudhopper To clarify: "Berlin Zoologischer Garten" was the central train station of Berlin West, "Alexanderplatz" the on in Berlin East, with "Friedrichstrasse" the uncomfortable intersection between east and west and a border crossing. What is today "Berlin Hauptbahnhof (HBF)" was until a few years ago the "Lehrter Stadtbahnhof" and old S-Bahn station (and cross country prior to the seperation of Berlin and subsequently the tracks). The Lehrter Stadtbahnhof was the stop AFTER the Berlin Zoo (coming from Potsdam) and was torn down and annihilated to make way for the HBF. All of the aforementioned stations are along the East-west corridor for S- and U-bahn and the aorta of the city. And if you are really interested, there are books (yes plural) written about the traffic system in Berlin and the mess various wars, hot and cold, have created it :D

You under estimate the a/out of fuel a bus can carry. The small ones that my city use can hold 34 hours wort+ of fuel. So even %10 left is still over 3 hours.
A night route would be good I think. I did notice the framerate in the mirrors lol! Wish there was a good UK bus sim I`d so play that.

I believe the mirror reflection frame rate is controlled by the "Real Time Reflexions" option in the game options under the Graphics tab. If you change it to Full on the dropdown box, it should be a high framerate. Economy renders it at a lower one. I've always had mine on Economy because the game runs terribly though.

Since when is the OMSI 2 GUI invisible in video's? We used to be able to see everything Squirrel does with timetables etc, right?

instead of using the station brake will it work if you put on the parking brake when you stop to open the doors?

Can this game be played on a Lap Top with latest Windows and do you have to use a Steering wheel and pedals, would a mot stick do
10k passengers a day sounds like good money. That's roughly a third of my towns entire population.
I'd love to see a total overhaul of OMSI with modern graphics kinda like how truck sim has been updated and such. This game with Euro Truck graphics would be heaven. Would utterly blow all the other bus sims out the water.

Just some thinking as to this route and why passengers were getting on at different stops not on the official timetable. Since this is an express bus, what will happen is a passenger will request a stop, any stop along the line, then a passenger will get on if that express bus is one in which they know will go to where they need to be. Not sure if that is correct, but I would think that is a fair explanation to the mix up in the second half.
