- In this episode I finally try a tarp set for the back of the Jeep. This is a simple and quick set up with a tarp, bungee cords and some rope.
I've been wanting to try this for a while and it worked out AMAZINGLY !!!
This truly is an inexpensive and quick way to have a covered area for your Jeep camping adventures !!!
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
#jeepcamping #shelter #canopy
Good tip too is move truck after rain and u get dry ground under the truck if u move forward.
The idea of using a tarp from your vehicle is brilliant rather than getting soaked. Good call
Wow. Simple and elegant
So simple yet so good thank you
I know right!!! Use use it often, thanks for the comment !!!
Excellent video👍🏼👍🏼 a lot of really good information that is going to definitely come in useful. I have been camping for years and you came up with a lot of stuff that I never thought of.⛺️
Perfect and simple
Some great ideas in this video. Thanks!
Thank you, sometimes simple is better, especially when it is affordable. Thanks for watching.
Nice. Talking my husband into overlanding he just doesn't know it yet.
Great video! Love the setup and it looks very affordable. Lot of people buy all this expensive (and cool) gear that is overkill/ luxury. Keep it up brother, worth the sub for sure!
Thanks soo much, sometimes simple is better!!
Great 💡
Great vid!! Thank you!👍
Some good tips, Chris!👍
Thanks Greg, had a ton of fun playing in the rain !!!
Great idea! Thanks!
Thanks Fred, super easy and works great !!
I like those cool rope tightening dohickies! 😎 Looks like a great setup for vehicle camping. Had a good laugh at the end! 👏🏻😅 Fun & interesting stuff Chris!
Thanks Ron, yeah simple and effective, I’m going to do some more camping hack videos, seems to be liked, thirty years of camping experience goes a long way, look for more to come, as always thanks for the comments and support. I thought the end would generate a few smiles….cheers !!!
Was looking at one of those $179 tarp set ups from REI. This set up is more for me.
Thanks for the detail set up.
Yes it’s easy, effective and affordable, thanks for watching!
Just burning the ends will keep the rope from fraying.
I agree however depending on the type of rope it can make a difference. Thirty years of rock climbing and dealing with ropes has taught me some lessons.
Thanx for the useful video, i can use this setup for my "delivery van camper as well. sometimes it is very important to setup a quick and solid raincover first. Greetings from Hamburg / Germany
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching, don't forget to share ! Cheers from Canada
Super Nice video, greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you so much, cheers from Canada 🍁
Great video man, I will do this kind of set-up for sure
Thank you Nico, simple and effective set up. Thanks for watching.
@@adventurechristv613 and you have a new subscribers, much love from Indonesia
I bought an SJK Slumberjack, which is great, but it was $100. I already had most of the stuff for this setup😂. I love it!
Thanks, I literally just filmed a video using suction cups if you don’t have a roof rack, video should be out Saturday!!
Nice video :)
I believe it is 6x8 or 10, I’m using a bigger one now for more area which works great
Quick suggestion, you could have guy-lined through your wheels which would have allowed you to be able to still open the rear doors as needed
Good suggestion! Thanks hanks
I'm doing this for my vancamp I bought a carsule but I love my Coleman tent so I'm not going to use the car Soul pop-up cabin I'm going to have that for my duckies to be in my yard to keep away any flies sometimes and this would be like connecting my VanCamp to my tent house thank you for the great idea. I don't know what size tarp you have but I'm going to have my tarp that's big enough to also cover my tent so I'll have my tent close to my Van Camp cause I have a bed in there etc so I'll set up in there too so it's like having two big Living Spaces
It never ceases to amaze me, the number of men that drive or hike into the wilderness and set up camp, just so they can eat what they want and enjoy a few beers, without having to deal with the wife. lol.
Bro you made an amazingly entertaining video! It is great information in fact I had a simple tarp setup for my 2009 caravan no build camper I wish I had known about those bungee cords and clips at the time would have made my life easier! But I upgraded to Hasika upgraded canopy it is a 3 Pole quite simple awning setup it is very versatile you can put it on the rear of your vehicle or the side and it makes a completely covered shelter or you can roll up the sides and have an open-sided shelter. I really enjoyed your video you're very funny bro but I can see you got a master rigg there and lots of technical know-how you are much appreciated!!
Hey Jay, thanks for the kind words and support. I am filming another tarp camping video this weekend as there is rain in the forecast. I’m going to try something new. I’m trying to keep it simple and affordable. Thanks again, my ch appreciated. Stay tuned for the next video!!!
@@adventurechristv613 I posted a very short video to show the side awning if you get a chance check it out I think I'm up to 5 views lol but honestly I didn't post for interviews I just wanted to show people I talk to you some of my setup. I'm definitely checking out your future videos thank you so much for sharing
I’ll check it out for sure !
Thanks for focusing -in on the set-up portions. Very helpful for even a simple set-up. I'm guessing you're using a 12' x 12' tarp. Thanks for the tip on those toothed fasteners. I love the outdoors but I haven't really done any camping. I like to think that I don't need a ton of gear. Thanks!
Where do we get those Fasteners and bungees do they have those at Harbor Freight or Amazon?
@TammyTimeTV they are available on Amazon, the clip is called the “figure 9” the bungees are from princess auto
@@adventurechristv613 Thank you 😊
Hey Chris it’s Claudio. Love your channel dude. Now I hate the fact I sold my kayaks years ago. I can’t believe you sold the pick-up! Don’t get me wrong, man that Jeep is sick. I have two burning questions: if you had to would you be able to sleep in the Jeep? I mean if you pushed the drivers seat forward would it be long enough to snuggle inside the Jeep? Second is the 4WD system of that Jeep. So is it a part time 4WD where you cannot engage that if the roads are relatively dry (wheel hop turning) or is it a full time AWD system? Watched all your videos bud. Love them. Keep it up. You are made for this.
Hey Claudio its been a while hope you are doing well. It was time trade in the truck for something more for my adventures, and I'm loving it. There is a custom made air mattress for the jeep that fits perfectly with the seats forward, its on my list so I will be doing some jeep camping videos. The 2wd has electronic traction control that can be disengaged and Hi/Low 4wd. It is NOT fulltime AWD, it is true 4wd. I will be doing some cool jeep camping videos this fall and winter, setting it up for more overlanding style. Thanks for watching buddy, I appreciate the support. You are right, I am made for this shit !! LOL. Hope to see you soon.
Nice presentation. You need more videos and subs.
Thank you kindly, I’m working on it !! I’ll keep making the videos.
I think you can put links in the comments if you’re under 1000 subs. What bungees are they?
I will do that
Great idea! What brand of roof bars do you have installed?
The tarp works great, super quick set and inexpensive, the roof rack is THULE
@@adventurechristv613 Thanks for the info!
Night eyes.... do NOT use near saltwater or on a kayak. Every single product I've used by them as stainless has fully rusted
Good to know !! Thanks
Awsome vids. 2ndNatureOutdoor just subscribe. Will try this setup next time
Thanks for the nice comment and support !
This is just what I'm looking for! Do you have a link for the tarp bungees and clips you used? Greetings from NYC!
The clips are made by Nite Ize, the model is the Figure 9 carabiner, they can be purchased on Amazon. The bungees were from Princess Auto, not sure the brand (tarp bungees) is what I remember. I am currently filming a video using suction cups for the tarp if you don't have a roof rack. The clips are amazing! Be sure to check out my other tarp videos. Cheers form Ontario Canada.
@@adventurechristv61315:55
I found the Night Ize brand online, but they don't sell the biner clip you use.
It is called a figure nine if that helps
Great video. What size tarp did you use?
Thank you. I believe this one is 8x10, I have other videos with bigger tarps. I just got a hammock tarp which I will be filming soon. Thanks for watching!
I think you need more ropes in your jeep. 😂 Just joking. Wishing you fun on your adventures.
Never enough ROPES!!!! Hahaha 🤣
can you do this without a roof rack? thx
Im not sure if it would would without a roof rack, I'm going to test it out and let you know!!
what fly do you own? @@oldgrunt5569
Where is the link for those clips?
I will ad a link shortly. They can be ordered on Amazon, the brand is Nite Ize and the model is the Figure 9, I bought a two pack that comes with cord. That is what is used in the video.
what size tarp?
hey, I'll have to check, I think six or eight by ten, not big, I tried a bigger one but it sags easier with lots of rain.
You wasted three feet of tarp by hooking it to the roof rack??? Just put it about a foot past the window, and hook it to the wheel well. That way the entire tent is covered and not just half.
