I definitely left out some (mainly from legends) as I’m not that familiar with all the characters and there is definitely some mistakes in placement but everything is debatable and all fictional

Obi Wan needs to be ranked higher. His Battle IQ is built different. He also bested the chosen one 2x
Obi Wan is overrated. His skill with a blade is indeed impressive and made him above average, but he's not legendary status, just above average. Thats why he got ragdolled by Dooku and why Anakin defeated dooku ez. (Yes, I get a part of it was that Dooku went easy on Ani, but that was only for little bit. He went all out on him mid battle and Dooku commented how Anakin was "the finest practitioner of Form V" hes ever seen.)

Canonically he's mestarted Single Bladed, double bladed, dual wielded and cross gaurded lightsabers. He's not someone to be taken lightly in lightsaber combat
As much as I agree. He's still very young and has way more to learn. But in terms of learning all those lightsaber forms... he'll earn his spot eventually.

Legends Grievous was a crazy good duelist, too bad he got nerfed.
I don't think Grievous was even really nerfed, I think he's just a jobber and his opponents get plot armor. Also a little bit of people underrating his opponents, and not taking into account things like say, his opponents already being tired at the battle of Hypori for instance. When Grievous needs to be formidable, he suddenly still is, and according to lore he's still cracked.

Darth Malak is extremely underrated! He was described as the brawn to Revan’s brain!
That doesn't mean he was good...
Darth Malak (is my favourite Sith, personal preference) is a strong user but I would argue his duelling skills were not as good as his connection to the dark side (arguably stronger connection than Revan) and his abilities in the dark side accompanying his fighting skills made him a relatively formidable opponent, considering Revan is the only one who seemed to be able to take him on and win

Dooku was feared by darth plagueis before he turned to the darks side that he would become the next grandmaster because he was the best duelist in the Jedi order at the time. I think Dooku should be way higher up
In both Episode II and the book Dark Rendez-Vous, Dooku flew before Yoda in their duel because Yoda was too skillfull for him. He admitted it himself in dark rendez-vous. I personally think Mace is a better duelist than Dooku, and being grandmaster has nothing to do with the force and your dueslist rank.

Indeed. There are also many Sith from the Old Sith Empire who would rekt someone like Vindican, for example. And everyone below him.
But Exar Kun is the most obvious pick, he would be Top 10 easy. Some even have him as the absolute goat.
To me, that is Tenebrae, as nobody was strong enough to duel him. He was literally defeated only because there were thousands upon thousands against him in the end.
Windu was called the best swordsman in his era boecouse of his Vappad and here he is 10 .... so underrated character
Vappad is mostly effective against users of the Dark side.
There were other eras, not just Windu's. We are talking 25000 years of galactic history here, being number 10 is insane.
Obviously, Tenebrae and Exar Kun would push him down 2 pegs. And possibly someone like Freedon Nadd or Marka Ragnos too.

Qui Gon was definitely OP as fuck, man trained the high ground master. But he was old as hell, chances are he would be at least 15th in his younger days
But he wasn’t always old as hell, he had his prime. The same way we saw Obi Wan and Anakin in their prime. They put him way too low, like the dude found out about force ghosts!

@@solitarything1209 True, but he was trained by Count Dooku, and we knew that he was one of the greatest duelists in the Jedi Order, if not the BEST. We did only see him at 60, but canonically, he was an incredible duelist in Form IV, Ataru, which includes and consists of many type of acrobatic movements of dueling, like Master Yoda! It’s possible he was still a Master in Form IV, just didn’t jump all over the place like Yoda after one sip of coffee, lmao. Either way, I am rather convinced that the prequel trilogy nerfed him down a bit, because of his old age. I will admit, when I mentioned the fact that Qui Gon Jinn discovered force ghosts, I was completely unaware on the relative relation to being a skilled duelist. In other words, I forgot the title. There are a lot of controversial rankings on this list, not just Qui Gon Jinn. However, he IS my favorite Jedi, and I felt he was wronged being put in last place. I truly believe that the creator of this video, judged Qui Gon Jinn based on what little we got to see in the movie.

I've seen the game, watched many playthroughs and cutscenes, his only major power is the force, that's how he wins fights, through his force powers, and while his lightsaber combat isn't bad it's also not amazing, if we take the force out of the equation Vader would probably defeat him in a duel.

In the book he lost in 3 moves (which I'll just call a problem with the book because that kind of makes KFV too overpowered, and Cin Drallig is supposed to be the skill insert character for the stunt coordinator, and lore statements suggest he should be in the same tier as people like Yoda and Windu skillwise).

Revan is more like really overrated, bane underrated. This is already prooven by many ranking bane lower then revan in terms of strength, lightsaber and force mastery, even tough bane was by far superior to revan in all of these aspects.

Agen Kolar should be on this list, yeas Ik the movies made him look fodder but this is Legends and Legends Kolar is above Legends Jinn, Fisto, Tiin etc in terms of just duelling. He was known for his duelling and made dark quinlan vos look like fodder.
Surik, who mastered all saber forms and was able to adapt to enemy fightning style right in combat - #23. So much for the top.

we have to remember that dooku has been killed in a lightsaber duel by a man who is not on the list
Vader reached a higher potential than his former self. And he is placed above Dooku on the list.
The list is still scuffed though, since the Force is part of every duel. Which means Tenebrae would be goated and then Sheev on 2nd. After that it would probably be Exar Kun on 3rd.

Especially considering Sheev got his hand cut off in a duel with Luke in Dark Empire, failed to control his force storm, which Luke (with help from Leia and unborn Anakin) redirected? And Luke became way stronger after Dark Empire.

Tenebrae rekt everybody. Not with a lightsaber but he still wins in a duel. People forget that duelling isn't just about lightsabers, that's only one aspect.
Plo Koon should be up there with Yoda, and also Vader should not be up there with Yoda and them, as while Vader was a very good duelist, there were actually multiple Jedi who bested Vader in lightsaber combat when they fought, one such Jedi being Roan Shryne, he fought Vader on Kashyyyk and beat him in lightsaber combat, but lost when it came to force. Also Mace Windu should not be above Palpatine, Mace Windu needed Kit Fisto to block 2 different strikes that Palpatine aimed at Mace Windu, Mace Windu did win the duel, but only because he had help at the beginning, and there are also multiple other characters who should be higher than they are, or should be lower than they are

Episode 4 Obi-Wan would fare better ofc, but a bunch of Sith would still beat him. At the very least Tenebrae, Sheev, Exar Kun and Revan. Most likely Vader too.

Obi Wan defeated Maul twice, fought Savage Oppress + Maul at the same time and managed to cut off a limb, defeated Grievous, defeated evil Anakin, defeated Vader.

I still can't see him defeat Yoda, Dooku or the other 5 mentioned. That puts him at 8th at best, which is still insane among Millions of Force sensitives across 25000 years.

Other comment: You might be underselling how good Maul really is, even if Obi-Wan tends to beat him already. I could see Episode IV Obi-Wan > Yoda in III (though I wouldn't actually argue it), and for some reason I doubt Yoda has specifically gotten better with a lightsaber since then considering he no longer has one.

Anakin imo is probably around no.12-10 depending if he’s knightfall vader or not, lightside Anakin might best Mace if he doesn’t tap into the darkside, if he did he would lose, I doubt he’d beat prime Palpatine though + He would’ve beaten Obi Wan if the duel lasted any longer, he just got arrogant and form III counters V

If they ever redo the original trilogy they need to give Luke a massive lightsaber skill rework on showing it cause the stuff for animating back then didn’t allow for the stuff we got in prequels

You can not put Plo Koon that early on in the list because he was the only Jedi EVER to beat Yoda in a sparing match and he was the only Jedi in the grand army of the republic to master let alone be able to use the skill of force judgment(force lightning for Jedi)
One fluke over 900 years means nothing. If anything, Plo Koon is the most overrated Jedi of all. He is just a simple Council member on 13k MC, nothing special.
I'm not even sure I would put him on Top 50. There are simply too many Sith who would rekt him. He would rekt Maul though. Easy. But Maul is the most overrated Sith ever.

Player character in Knights of the Old Republic. Anakin expy. The whole package for force mastery, potential, skill, tactics, strategy. With all that said, I don't think, certainly not during that era, that he's supposed to be wildly different in power in the force than say, Nomi Sunrider, and I think given all of his assets, he shouldn't be assumed to be nearly this high just based off of his mastery of the blade. If he's beating people high on this list, it's likely a combination of all the things he excels at and not just being a better dueling.
He might also benefit from a lot of power creep from the Old Republic MMO and related media that I'm not aware of because I haven't engaged with that part of Star Wars media as much as a lot of other stuff.
