This Halloween Massacre cover from RIFIUM off their 2016 LP Ice Disease was a fun struggle for me. I spent 3 days jamming and learning it in Drop C only to realize there's lots of cool barre chords in this which has to be C standard? There's no covers, live footage or anything but it looked like their other songs live on YT are in standard tuning and that turned my progress around. The chugging gallop is a challenge cuz it's off time and if ur not careful it turns into a regular gallop. I just did my best by ear in the room on this including the solo and almost used YT slow down feature but never did. (Probably should've for the lead, haha.) The verse riff is missing the 1st fret accent note, I couldn't decide on the crappy jamroom speakers and realize it's wrong. Anyway, was a fun song to learn and jam many many times to bring it to you... HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
P.S. I learned of RIFIUM a few years ago from a small YT album review, I think his name was Cappy from Canada who had seem them live and recommended the CD. It's been one of those "never skip a song" albums that just freaking POUNDS through subs and I'm excited for the new one. The intonation was way off when I went to C standard but I basically tuned by ear centered around that 7th fret full strummed barre chord. {;o) TMFR

I'm glad I went with the cute skeletons cuz at first I tried finding any famous like Halloween Massacre's and the only 2 I found were just a day that some tax law took effect in Canada a few years ago and a day President Ford took over and fired most of the prior advisers, so I figured those are boring, haha!

Awesome to hear from you man!! Yeah, I ain't dead yet, lol... summer was pretty busy and these just pop up on a whim. After a month I usually start to realize it's about too long and start checking my list or seeing what comes up on random I think I could pull off.

ThrashoPaedia Moment! During the solo, I copy/pasted the chug pattern from elsewhere in the song and brought the volume down slightly, plus the few chords at the tail end during the weird pick slide till I joined back in! This is the 1st time I attempted the solo in the single rhythm take! usually I would just record the solo on a loop like 10 times and keep the best one to cut into the vid...
