- I came across an article that called Dean "overtly heterosexual" and literally laughed out loud. XD But anyway, making this helped cheer me up a little-I hope you all enjoy it too!

corrections:
-porky’s 2 is not a classic queer film, but rather a film sometimes said to have queer undertones. It’s interesting Dean references this because it’s about theater students fighting bigotry in order to put on a play where boys can play female roles. Like many parts of this video it isn’t direct evidence he’s bi, but rather something that’s very interesting to note/another layer to the character’s continual queer-coding.

Also: Please note that I got a lot of the more subtle references from the metas above, aka people who know a lot more about the context than I do, so I can't necessarily explain the relevance of everything as well as they can. Also, yes, a lot of this stuff is subjective, but when it comes to something that is never blatantly stated (such as Dean's sexuality) that's to be expected. Especially taking into account that this show started in 2005 when there's no way they'd be drawing a lot of attention to it (interestingly you can see things get more and more obvious as time goes on.) So yeah, I can't necessarily "justify" every point here, but that's not the intention. I'm simply presenting some (not all) evidence and painting a picture that I think became very obvious at some point in the show.

It got me so mad when the writers just kinda..... made him homophobic in the last two episodes. There's literally 15 seasons worth of bi easter eggs that they straight up ignored. @Sofia Kaye I don't think they made Dean homophobic, they just wrote him out of character towards literally everyone (Cas included.) I think at first Dean didn't process what Cas was saying to him (that's actually what Jensen said on it, I believe) and after that the writing just dived and unfortunately the cast didn't have a say in what happened.

People argue that the siren turned into the little brother that admired him because that's what he wanted, Sam was always so independent.
Jennifer F. Yeah, that’s the in-episode explanation given (by the siren, not Dean) but honestly I still find it very suspicious 😂 Plus Sam didn’t seem shocked by the idea that the siren got to Dean, and that’s BEFORE the “brotherly” explanation was dropped.

Exactly, and as a fellow bisexual who grew up in a fairly homophobic environment and was super closeted as a result of that, Dean's behavior is painfully relatable to me. Like, for years I knew that I found girls attractive, but that didn't mean anything, right? Girls were just beautiful and sexy, that was an objective fact and nothing to do with me. After all, I kept falling for guys like all the other girls did, so obviously I was straight and that was the end of the story, right? 🙄 It took genuinely falling for a girl for my dumb ass to realize that, okay, perhaps I'm not straight after all...
So long story short, given Dean's upbringing, it makes perfect sense to me that he would have downplayed his attraction towards men throughout his whole life, just because he has never fallen for one. And then Cas came along and made Dean's life whole lot more confusing :D

Dean is a perfect example of bisexual representation. I am still not out for many reasons...I hoped that if dean finally came out I could do it too but after the finale instead of considering of coming out it pushed me even deeper in the closet. She's basing this entirely on the books, and unless Chuck described Cas as dreamy more than once, that probably wouldn't have been the word that came to mind. The books, however, have Sam and Dean's thoughts written down. So, unless Chuck doesn't have a thesaurus lying around(which, trust me, he totally does), the only reason that Charlie would've described him like that is if *someone* in the books described him like that.

What is really painfull here, is that a show like buffy the vampire slayer ( that was very similar in concept and style , just more...well, teen drama in the beggining). Had a full on WlW relationship going on for several seasons ( and will has have more lesbic relationships after, tho i comsider her bi with a preference because i do think she did love oz too). All with even bed scenes ( tame, but really only buffy herself gets slightly spicer scenes) , in the 90's to early 2000, and in the group of the main protagonists. All of that, for now a show in freaking 2010's, that should be more advanced, to not dare make a character officially bi and have a gay relationship on canon. They really took a step backwards in the world of urban dark fantasy shows.

So their are little scenes in the first season where Xander and Willow both act bisexual but then he eventually decided that Willow will be bi and Xander will be straight.

He was the one who controlled all of the glances and the facial expressions and the small, hidden smiles that the writers wouldn’t allow. Also, on the topic of the line, Castiel had so much self-hatred and pain inside of him that he let it get to his head and convince him that Dean could never return his feelings. Of course Dean had quite a bit of internalised homophobia- due to who he was raised by and how- so he projected these feelings onto those he loved, leading to him fighting with Cas (15x04) and fuelling the idea that he could never love him back. Also this video is perfect, legitimate proof that Dean is bisexual.

Actually, I think the most deciding factor in confirmation of Dean's bisexuality is the fact that he never denies it. Not. Even. Once.
There were plenty of opportunities where Dean could have said "i am not into guys" or "I only like girls." Plenty of chances to affirm attraction explicitly towards women. This video shows dozens of said opportunities.
But he never says anything of the sort.

Hear me out...for the sake of my sanity, the Purgatory prayer was Dean’s confession (Dean says he has something else to tell Cas and Cas says it’s okay because he heard the prayer. He was going to say “I love you” but Cas stopped him because he didn’t know what to do with that information at the time). Then 15x18 was basically Cas saying “I love you (too)”.

Dean is bi in denial, there were so many hints throughout the seasons, and the bond with cas, like he is always bickering like an old couple,- it’s clearly queerbating that they weren’t more. And those things never happened to Sam, who is often mocked by dean for being gay (it’s mostly joking but still) but Sam is 10 times straighter to me than dean..
I think the actors were pushing as hard as possible near the end for these kinds of things to happen. I mean Jensen was the one to suggest the confession scene (or so I've heard).

Watching Dean on supernatural before I even knew what sexuality was helped me realize that I was, in fact, a bisexual. So they can say what they like, but he inspired many bisexuals like myself to be who they are. Love the bi-erasure by the show btw. It's like the true Bi experience.

Personally, I find it hilarious that Castiel (who has never shown any romantic or sexual interest in any male character other than Dean) turned out to be the one with the tragic unrequited crush on his (supposedly) straight friend ... when DEAN has been flirting with/getting flustered around guys since the first fucking season (to the point where it became a running joke on the show) and everything about the writing, acting and cinematography made HIM out to be the one who spent an entire decade hopelessly pining for Cas.
(I mean, as far as I'm concerned, their deep, romantic love for each other was entirely mutual, but COME ON. If it's gotta be one-sided, they should've at least picked the right guy.)

While I 1000000% have always seen Dean as bi and noticed the little times he's checked guys out or the moments you see how in love with cas he is I always thought his relationship with Benny was like a very close friend who is extremely supportive and I imagine Benny being the first person he could've talk to about his feelings for guys which Benny was probably like "well go for it!😂" and I feel they share a more brotherly relationship but I understand how people can read them as exes as well
