    Great vid as usual. I've tested almost all of these guys myself and can see your reasoning on Ipiria for sure (free +1 is always great), but in order for decks to win nowadays, especially a deck like Spright, you have to be able to do something gamebreaking/unfair, and IMO Iblee checks those boxes. The upside completely outweighs the downsides. It's a card that either wins the game automatically at best, or demands an immediate answer at worst. That's a very high ceiling *and* floor. And the real key is it's incredibly consistent and easy to pull off
    Also as far as the Ipiria being live under Shifter thing, chances are if you opened Starter and nothing else (and main Shifter going 1st ofc), you won't be summoning Ipiria anyways, rather one of your various forms of interaction like Red/Carrot/Catty. It's def a powerful card, just doesn't do enough. That bein said, I wouldn't main Shifter, fire format or not. Iblee can stonewall them and Voiceless on her own and not hurt the diversity of our board/chances for followup

      Ipiria actually comes up a fair bit if you open enough engine! Sometimes the +1 is needed because you want to overlay your monsters, so you can draw one and have XYZ material without losing other Spright monsters. E.g. Blue+Jet get used for Gigantic, and you have an Angler in hand that you normal summon. Under shifter, the Ipiria gives you a +1, and let's you overlay both into a Mann Cat or Pure Light. Good points though!

      Another thing to note about Ipiria, it was good when Elf was live and could be abused. The +1 kinda falls short to me in the list of Lv2 Utility.

    totally have to agree with all of those takes. For now pure spright really seems to be "solved" except for min maxing ratios of nonegine but that is locals/tournament dependent. sub engines or spright as an engine does not see as much play either, so lets see where this whole thing goes. Really lookin forward to new stuff to explore ngl.

    There is a local near me that feels out of a twilight zone, not a single meta deck exists there so I always play something tier 7 or spright with 3 unexpected dai 3 falling down and 1 archfiend marmot of nefariousness because why not

    What are your thoughts about running Astral Kuriboh?

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  Před 3 měsíci

      Interesting, I've never considered running it in Sprights. Only issue is that it plays hard into Nib yet again, and we would ideally want to avoid anything that plays into Nib, as we have engine to play around it in the first place.
      My other two thoughts that come up are:
      I only run #29 and #2, neither of which are always amazing
      Using the wording, I'm assuming that you can't ss Astral when you're locked into 2s, as it level modulates afterwards.
      Best case scenario, acts as an extender that forces you to summon either of 2 situational XYZ monsters.
      Worst case scenario, you're locked into 2s, and can only either normal it as link material, or it's dead.

    What about hero kid / swap frog ?

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  Před 4 měsíci

      I think Hero Kid isn't good enough as it stands because it only generates more bodies, and doesn't do anything on its own. The flexi spot should go to a card with immediate impact if drawn/summoned, or interrupts the opponent in the GY during their turn. Not worth having a 3 of that you don't want to draw. Swap is cool if you get to dump Angler, but without Elf AND Ronin, Swap feels unnecessary. Toad also feels worse without Elf.

    i think emp is the best because its also the best one to hard draw most of the time. your normal summon is conflicted due to beaver make an link monster to special emp

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  Před 4 měsíci

      Emp definitely has its merits! It just doesn't feel as good summoning EMP off of Gigantic at times because it doesn't provide immediate value. I am currently testing it some more though :)
