You could easily put pipe brackets at the corners connecting pipes to wood instead of wiring them together. Much more sturdier & easy!
Wow! This is perfect quick build! Thank you for sharing ❤
You're welcome
great video and great price for building. As I am in Thailand, would be using screening instead of plastic! Curious to see how prices have changed since 2017 as it is now 2023!
I would think that anyone could follow your instructions. Very well done and thank you.
Galland 34 Thank you for the kind comment. We appreciate it.
Thanks for your time to film your project and share!! Good ideas.
Thank you and thanks for the nice comment.
Thanks for sharing. I will be definately following these instructions for our build!
Glad we could help.
I’ve heard using pressure treated lumber as food crop edging isn’t a good idea because the chemicals leach into the ground. Did you look into that?
I had heard that but couldn’t find anything definitive. It is mostly just copper that is used for pressure treated. Doesn’t bother me at all.
Looks like a snow mobile beers and hoots shack to me!
In the UK we use a special tape called hotspot tape, this reduces the friction between the PVC and the pipework, caused by wind and movement.
Good to know. Thank you for the info.
I'm hoping to build a greenhouse. And a chicken run. So enjoying those videos definitely as well as your other videos. Great content and amazing work.
I appreciate that Randall. Thanks again
@@CountryLivingExperience You're very welcome
LOL! The dog runs in every video...
He is a trip.
perfect ~same size area as I already have so I appreciate this very much!!
You are so welcome!
THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION.
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful.
Very nice bro you explained in a detailed manner
Thank you. Glad we could help.
I would suggest that you stretch the plastic very tight, you say you don't get any snow, but I guess you get wind and rain, and that may wreak havoc with a bit flimsy plastic cover. It should be tight as drum skin. ....... just a thought. And your cover may last longer than the 4 years.
Thanks for your thoughts. We tightened it up as things settled in. We also broke our video into two different segments. We show a rigging system for wind in this video....czcams.com/video/WsSp7VlNSWc/video.html
Thank you!
You’re welcome
Hi there is a anti heat tape self adhesive on one side comes on a roll Paul
Cool
Wow, that was a lot of work! Why electrical conduits and not regular pvc? Maybe I missed when you said it. Also, where did you get those clips? I have a green house I purchased from Amazon. It didn’t come with clips to secure it in place. Your greenhouse Game out great. Thank you for sharing this informative video.
You're welcome. Electrical conduit is UV treated so it will withstand the sun baking it. Regular PVC is not. I got the clips from Amazon a long time ago. Not sure if they still have them.
How is this holding up? I built something similar about 6 years ago.
I’ll be checking out more of your videos!
Chuck
Holding up very well. The clips that I used have loosened up a bit. I do not recommend that brand of clip any longer. Other than that, everything is solid.
@@CountryLivingExperience Is there another brand of clip you'd recommend now?
T. Whitt I never found a better stronger clip. I ended up wrapping the plastic around the edges and used a furring strip to secure it to the wood frame. The clips are still there to help but don’t do the heavy lifting.
Good job!
Thank you
The PVC corrosion is true. With in a year my polly plastic disintegrated right next to the PVC pipe. It became brittle and broke right along the PVC pipe.
Thanks for the heads up regarding your experience. I am glad I painted them.
In our area, we get a lot of wind. Is this greenhouse able to withstand wind?
I did a follow up video to this one showing how to add wind strapping here......czcams.com/video/WsSp7VlNSWc/video.html
good info thank u
You’re welcome
Where did the plastic come from for the ends? Is the top plastic secured only by the weight of the rolled up piping on the sides and a few clips over the end plastic? How do you keep it secure during high winds in Texas?🤷🏻♀️
We did another video on wind support using paracord here: czcams.com/video/WsSp7VlNSWc/video.html. We never had an issue with any wind after implementing this.
Sorry comment was being deleted. But I wanted to know the measurement you made. 12 by 14 when finished the framing? What is the length of the 2 wood for bottom length like 10 ft each =20ft then cut to 9 ft each to make 18 ft total length? Sorry for my misunderstanding. Good video.
Our final footprint dimension was 18' x 14'. That was based on the calculations that I explained in the video in relation to the size of the greenhouse film we were able to find.
Approximately how much would it cost to do this?
I mentioned that in the video. About $325 with the door but this was roughly 6 years ago and inflation is a killer tax.
did you secure the wood going across horizontal to the ground (the 4' up beams) other than on the very end?
Yes. They are screwed into every rib (pipe) along the length of the greenhouse.
Nice job.
Thank you Tom
How much did it cost? Next year I am looking into building some 300ft green houses but if I buy a 287 foot one it will cost around a grand. Not a bad price but looking into hemp farming.
This one cost a little over $300 including the door. If you can build a 300ft long greenhouse for $1000, tell us the secret. That is very inexpensive.
@@CountryLivingExperience I am so sorry I missed typed $10,000 lol I was in a rush. But it's just so expensive so was looking for cheaper solutions then the ones i seen and they wasnt even the best...
@@CountryLivingExperience It will only be me and another investor so that plus equipment, power, water, soil etc it just gets pricey so if any suggestions it would help alot or stores to look at with cheap building materials if you know any.
I see. 10k seems more plausible. The way I built mine is only good for small scale stuff and not commercial.
@@CountryLivingExperience The ones I am looking at have a steel frame so they should hold good if so. Pricey for some metal and plastic
I wonder if this would work for a 10m wide greenhouse.
It should. You will just need a larger diameter pipe.
where did you get those clips from ?
I just found them on Amazon. I don't have the link anymore.
I am looking for the link to buy the greenhouse plastic also would like to know where to purchase the locks that snap over the conduit
This is the exact plastic that we used for the greenhouse.....amzn.to/3pI1rEh and here are the clips.....amzn.to/2IIqGWD. The clips are ok but they wear out fairly quickly. Have fun with your build.
FYI - I'm on year 5+ of "4-year Greenhouse Film" mounted directly onto Schedule 40 PVC. It's already lasted longer than its official rating and I've long since called "shenanigans" on statements that PVC will somehow corrode your greenhouse film.
Awesome. Thanks for the heads up.
It really depends upon how "fresh" the poly vinyl chloride pipe is. When it is brand new, it puts off a lot of gas.
But yes, I had a pvc hoophouse years ago and the plastic outlasted the pvc pipe which collapsed under an ice storm followed by a snow storm. It didn't get brittle and break. IT literally slumped under the weight and once I got all of it cleared off, it wouldn't go back up into shape. That was 2" pvc pipe.
I had top bracing and side bracing with pressure treated wood. It was the "arch" at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock that collapsed. In it's 3rd year.
Where do you purchase the clips and can you give me how many I will need to get
Where did you buy that plastic greenhouse cover?
We put a link in the description. Here it is: amzn.to/3xvv5PX
Will that hold up under a snow load?
No. You would have to add a center beam to handle snow.
Could you explain how you make the hoop?
What do you need to know? The video showed the steps
Can you leave a link for the plastic you found on Amazon?
We added it to the description.
Showing just the easy parts isn’t that helpful. I have no idea how to get the plastic on from your description. Also no mention of snow loads. So I assume there’s no snow where you are as this does t look like it would handle much.
💪👍
I'm a sixty-year-old woman this doesn't look easy or inexpensive LOL I guess if the yard guy I would be.
60 years old is not old at all. It is a very easy process to put this together. It is also very inexpensive at only $325 including the door.
