Hi. Do.u.know maybe why my esp 8266 all the time disconnecting?
I tried to updating and sometimes its working fine but sometimes I have a message " connection is failure " and my controller is offline.
Thank you
The corner/edge pieces are a game changer. Channel diffuser companies need to put this in the market.
starting out with a fresh LED video is a great way to kick off the weekend. thank you!
I’ve been waiting for someone to cover this and you did it perfectly
cover haha lol funny pun lol
Been excitingly waiting for this review and it was so worth it! Thank you so much for making a well worked review video and covering this so well
I came in with "meh, more LEDs" but quickly went to "wow that is seriously cool".
Diffused LED makes such a difference, I've shied away from any "permanent" install so far, but now I'm warming up to the idea.
Thinking under the ceiling rather than above bottom trim though.
Anyway - Another well-done video - thanks Chris!
Thank you Chris.
Ideal solution for my new drop ceiling install in my kitchen, well done govee and thumbs up,for the vid 😊
Another great video Chris! Well done! It would be very interesting if you make a video about one solution (Govee LED + Diffuser System) vs Muzata Diffuser+ SK6812 (like your setup) with pros and cons for us the begginers so we can choose easier. It would be awesome.
It's about time!!!
Thanks Chris for making this video! CZcams has been mostly dark on these since they were released. I have one of these installed currently, looking for somewhere else to install the other that I purchased.
Would you be able to get this to work with that motion sensor stair lighting?
hi, i saw that in some videos people used a resistor to increase the data wire distance, how much do you think it can go with and without ? (using an esp32 with ws2812b leds and without a level shifter)
These are amazing. I noticed the RGBICW version is on the app. I’m hoping they release that soon so I can get those warm whites too!
I just finished installing two of these in my TV room lol. I originally put the retaining clips the wrong way and couldn't get the covers on until I realized I needed to flip them around and it made the strip lay flat in the channel. Maybe I shouldn't do installs late at night. XD
Oh nice. Way easier than the other setup which I recently installed (your other setup with all separate parts)
that track is awesome, I've used non govee track and the corners are usually horrible to try and do
EXACTLY what i was waiting for!!! if i buy two packs, it'll be absolutely perfect for my room! cheaper to buy these that use Govee's m1 strips and Muzata's spotless ones.
Do they sell the corner cover pieces by themselves? This is all excellent review thank you.
Love it
Hey Chris! I just got my ESP32 Board, but when I was gonna start plug everything together, I found out it was the ESP-32-S board, and the pins are different. which one should I use for data on that board?
Great videos as always. What is more cost effective? Buying this kit or buying the different pieces (led strips, diffusers, board to control the LEDs) from previous videos that you created? Thanks
Was wondering what would look better. Im panning to add led strips in the kitchen below cabinets. Im divided between this product with diffusers or the govee rope strings.
Very nice. I like the all in one option Govee provides with their products. With a little bit of DIY.
Is it possible to setup 2 or 3 of these or any Govee leds back to back? Even with each having their own power source but setup to look like one continuous long strip with the animations? I want to setup diffused LEDS that run across the whole room perimeter at the very top touching the ceiling.
Does give sell more outer cover pieces? I know they give you two but if you need four can you get extras?
Would the LED strip be better for under cabinets in a kitchen? I know the difusers make a difference but the tradk and cover look like theyll protrude from under. 🤔
Chris - just getting into LED for back lighting from routed channels on some shelving. What size / type channels would you recommend? Would Muzata U1SW be better than U103? Thanks
So cool bro 😎💯✨💖
Hey Chris, thanks for this video - coming just in time for my new studio! I used your M1 video for the last home studio and also installed the DIY diffusers you suggested. Would you say these are better or on par with the M1, strictly regarding the light quality? I see not having adhesive and including the pre cut pieces may sway me toward this version, but just wanted to compare these lights with the standard M1 strip. Thanks in advance!
Can the Philips hue light strip give you the same results? Can you do multiple colors at once with hue?
Are these LED’s the same quality as the M1 strip? Also, can this kit be updated with Matter?
this is a very good kit, I love my govees, these are the mutts nutts
If we wanted to get a continuous lights cover to replace the broken up look which size and light cover would you recommend ?
Great review. I'm recessing these into a custom desk build so that the top is flush. Does anyone know the dimensions of the channels with the diffuser? (Thickness and width, not length) Can't seem to find this anywhere.
Can you cut the end to use with wled like you with the desk lights ? Also I need 32 feet exactly to run around my living room. Would you do the desk lights? These? Or the wled lights you showed off on your projector screen. I'm confused on what would be the best they all look really good 😊
Good afternoon
Hi Chris
I recently installed around 11m of ws2815 (96led/m) 12V led strips using ESP32 and WLED software
I followed a previous video you made and need some help if you would be kind enough please?
I have two strips set up across the ceiling of my room - first being 7.6m and the other 3.4m
They are both connected via some LED lighting wires. The strips are 4pin. I tested both strips individually and they worked a treat, however when I connect them together something goes wrong and the whole setup just doesn’t work. All the leds light up but can’t do anything with the WLED app- can’t turn on/off, change colours or use any of the effects
I have tried adjusting the maximum current setting at various levels and still nothing seems to work
When I disconnect the last strip and just have the 7.6m running - initialy doesn’t seem to work but need to reset everything and it does eventually come back on
I know both lengths work individually connected but not together.
Please can you help to sort this issue?
Kind regards
Sid
Question,
Can you connect the end of the 5 m to the beginning of the 5 m to get a 10 m strip for this product or was that only for the Govee M1 lights?
Govee is tryin to have my whole house LED'd out mayne!
Any idea if it would be possible to cut and use as two separate strips? I want to put them vertical on my wall but 16 feet would be enough for at least 2 floor to ceiling and I don’t want to waste a ton of strip, from what I can tell they don’t sell a 3m version
Hello Chris, do you know if it is possible to add an extension to Govee H619E. Thanks for your help.
What's better this govee kit or the muzata U shape channel with the M1?
Howdy! New subscriber here… Love your videos but I do have a question. Is there any possible way to include an MP3 sound to play when motion is detected + have the lights light up? Thank you!!
Chris, do you think these are bright enough to use as a main source of overhead lighting when set to white? I have a 21x13 foot room and would install them all the way around on or near my “crown molding”.
I know you mostly do ambient lighting, but am curious if you think these are bright enough to read (or vacuum 😂) by.
Thanks! You rock.
I hope we get an answer. I'm asking this myself too.
They wouldn’t be bright enough to use as a main source of light.
Not with the diffuser
I have nearly the same set up except I used the diffusers Chris uses in a few other videos. After testing myself to see how bright they would be at their brightest setting I would say that it is adequate light to vacuum and read however it's a very cold white and I'm not sure if that would be what you would want to read by. Maybe a reading light to go along with the molding?
What happens if you need mroe than 16 ft? Can you continue from where you left off, or will you need to order two of these with its own diffuser system?
I was hoping for a review of this. I wasn't sure what to search for since they don't appear to have a unique product name. I should have just come to your channel and looked. Of course you have the best review online.
I just bought one but haven't set up yet. I'm look at the strip to go around my window frame.
Could you use these with a motion detector like you did with your staircase build?
I like what you can do with these LED's. It is just a shame the diffuser comes in such short lengths. You can see all the joins
I'm happy you showed this set up as I just bought these today! Erm, my order was placed before I saw this, though 😅. I'm torn between putting them on the floor or ceiling. The floor is easier, but my "office" has one wall that has a door to the main bathroom and then a door to the closet. If you cut the strip, I think you lose the ability to use whatever excess is left, right? Or...I think I've seen that the remaining amount can maybe be added to a connector and then connected with another LED strip to stretch it out? I hope so, because these thing's aren't cheap, lol.
The lighting on the floor though wasn't as bright as I'd been hoping, so I might go with the ceiling. I also ordered the light-up hexagons from Govee (two of them...and those things are SUPER not cheap 😭), so hopefully those will help make things brighter. I have a few small, ambient light decor items, but they're not very bright. My goal is to get my room to be bright enough that I don't need to use the overhead light. Winter will be here before we know it and I've always hated having to turn on an overhead light in my office during work once it got darker.
My next two areas to light up are some book shelves and under my desk. I'm thinking I might get the rope led light from Govee for that, and then just some simple strips as well from Govee. I might still need to add a lamp, though.
Dang that does look crispy
how do you add two of these together for the total 10M 32.8FT into one controller as stated? please explain this @chrisMaherDIY. I checked the Instruction manual and got nothing
Would yoi recommend facing these parallel to the floor or facing the ceiling?
They look fantastic, what’s your opinion on the cost? Just buy or wait for a sale?
Do theu sell thoae diffusers separately? I have some of their strip lights but I could use aome diffusers that won't break my bank.
Wow.... my first set of Govee lights was for a 65 inch TV several years ago. I think they were $13 or $14. It's crazy how much these cost now. To be fair they are more complex these days.
I love Govee and the M1 Light Strips, I just wish they could be cut at least every 3 inches.
Can you inject power in the middle of the strips, so that you can power it from an outlet near the corner of a room? If you can only power them from the end, it really limits where you can put these without a lot of mod
Can I use these lights for staircase? Does govee has this option with sensor ?
Looks like I found my new under-cabinet lighting. I just wonder if side firing will be bright enough, or if I'll have to cut and resolder 90deg turns to fire them straight down...
How do you do corners under cabinets? Do you fold the led strip?
Do you think that it would look cool if you used govee glide rgbic 3D?
Does the Govee start to blink when powered on or automatic white or last color?
I wonder how wide the channels are. Might be good for a big window casing, if they’ll fit.
Does anyone know if the “control
Panel” if it were has to be on show? Like some people have said already, despite the actual strip looking to be a decent quality the actual profile is so big. I’m helping a friend do a cinema room in his garage and it’s just going to look awful with all the plugs and remotes on show. I was looking at putting the strip in a smaller profile like a plaster in one but then we have the problem of the strip not being self adhesive and the clips won’t fit the other profile 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome Chris! Can you please tell the music name at the end of presentation? Thanks!
Hi Chris, Ive got a 4x4 media room, which I would like put something like this around the base skirting board and also the top cornice. I note your comment that these can only go a maximum of 10m in length. Can you not just link up a bigger transformer and tag on more Of these govee strips?
What is the width of the covers? Need to know if it fits between the cabinets
I am searching for the width and sickness of the diffuser: could you help please?
Would this work with the edges of a desk?
Can this sync to the T2? Like the m1?
Do we know if these work with WLED?
Could these be used outdoors in a Canadian winter?
I would love to see you use these led Channels with wled lights
I was going to ask about this - they're clearly addressable, but I'm guessing they're SPI based on the 4-pin connector?
@@proffalken I'm guessing so I really want them to make a truly individually addressable LED light strip where each LED itself has its own chip
Can you use this on the edges of your desk?
Are you able to angle it downwards 90 degrees when you hit a corner from the ceiling?
Don't see why not. You would have to cut both the base and cover at the correct angles. The hard part will be bending the led strip 90 degrees.
he sowed e cut in a 45 deg angle and showed an example of vertical ceiling going into a wall. isnt this what you mean @4:02
How do these differ from the Glide 3D?
Chris, would it not be better to mount these above the skirting board? I’d be concerned about my other half hitting it with the vacuum cleaner 😅
Is this waterproof? Would be great to use it around the bathroom mirror
I want to put some under a counter with no outlet in sight. How can I do that?
Hopefully they will sell these tracks separately too, they look far easier to use
Would you be able to group these with M1 strips from elsewhere to work in unison?
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately no. Govee software will not allow for it.
This looks like a really great all in one solution! My only wish is that the sections were smaller (i.e., less than 6 LED/section) so they could more easily be used for something like under cabinet lighting.
what's the brightness of these?
They need to realize this as a standalone diffuser kit. I put my m1 strip on my counter before realizing I didn’t buy any diffusers. Would be nice to have the option to add diffusers to it
Govee needs to chill out. My wallet hurts.
😂😂😂😂
Spot on.. this is a damn rip off.. this guy is making money for that company.. and fools will rush in to buy.. cus the You Tuber told me that they are well worth it..
@@RKM-mi1cg I dont think so as he uses several different brands. He may like Govee, but if they are sponsoring him it's based on the videos he did about them in the past.
@@lookatthis8455 the prices and the actuality of this setup and other videos from him, doesn't't seem to agree with your words.. ah well.. good effort in trying to look for an angle.
But seriously.. the setup is awesome and this bloke is effing crazy good in explaining and showing how to make this work better than any other Tuber..
Lol wait til you have to sell your wallet too 😢
don't worry my baseboard LED will be on the market again soon 😜
$90 for 16.4ft (5m) is crazy.
Nah is ok. 500 Euro for some RGB in a room is fine 💀💀💀
Ice do the channels come in black
what's the music used at the end of the video?
Was not expecting the diffuser covers to stick that far out but I suppose it's necessary to avoid hotspots.
Allow me time to pick my jaw up off the ground...Govee ftw!
Mine came today. Unfortunately, the both inner defuser pieces were missing in the box... What a shame
I would love to install this in my son's gameroom but this only goes to 10 meters which is 32ft. His gameroom is 11x11. So i need at least 45ft.
How do you get those effects at the end bro?
Thanks for watching! Those are just some of the scenes that Govee has or you can go the DIY create your own animation to play around with other options!
Question: do you think this can be extended if I buy another one in the future?
Purchase link for India? 🇮🇳
can you extend it if you need more than 5m ?
Yes, at the start it shows the connection pins.
I wish they had non 90 corners.... I have a few rooms with non 90 corners
jesus the disco light is real, I might grab it just for fun lol
“That looks OK but nothing special”, I thought. Then you showed the final results - “That’s awesome!”, I thought.
I didn’t realise that the LEDs were individually addressable. I didn’t see it on the box (0:01).
Is a berry nice product but it would be so cool if govee sell only the diffuser
